Diane Olly POV
David touched my face gently and planted a kiss on my lips. "What do you say? Wanna be my girlfriend?"
"This is too lame and cliché, but okay," I grinned. We held each other's hands and walked into the living room which had somehow magically emptied in the last fifteen minutes
"JARVIS?" I called. "Where is everyone?"
"They are in the medical room," he stated. "I'm sorry to inform you that Alex Shmood has died."
"What?" My eyes widened. "All this happened while...?"
I looked at David for assurance, but he was just as stunned as me.
I felt a hand on my shoulder and jumped. I began to feel dizzy and the world melted into shadow. A burst of light came into view, and suddenly I was no longer in Stank tower. David was still holding my hand.
Around me was a strawberry field and behind me, two boys around fourteen years old, one blonde and one dark headed; and next to them, a girl that was supposed to be dead.
"ALEX!" I wrapped my arms around her in a hug.
"Hey!" She smiled. "I was dead for a while, but I'm okay now! Sorry!"
"Why are they here?" Blonde guy asked the Italian guy.
"Alex told me to get them," Italian guy shrugged. "I'm Nico. This is Will. We're children of the Greek gods. So is Alex. You," he pointed to David. "You're the child of a god too, but I can't tell which ones. Definitely not Greek or Roman. Do Egyptian gods have babies?"
"What the hell," David said, no question in his tone.
"Its true," Alex smirked. "I don't know about David being a demigod, but it makes sense. That's probably why JARVIS only detected one mutant. Because there really was only one mutant."
"Humph," I humphed. "I guess I believe you. Why are we here?"
"I have no idea!" Alex cheered. "I just felt like bringing you here and telling you this stuff."
She grabbed my hand and dragged David and me into a big blue house.
"Hello!" She shouted. "Its me, Alex! I'm back in black!"
"Did you seriously just quote AC/DC?" I fattish guy looked up from a cooking magazine and scowled.
"Yup!" She smiled. "I automatically like you, sir! I'm Alex!"
"Pleased to meet you, Janis. I am Dionysus, god of wine and entertainment," he nodded to us in greeting. "I'm sure you've heard of me."
"I have," Alex smiled. "And its Alex, not Janis."
"Won't make the same mistake again, Max," the god smirked evilly.
"Alex," Alex hissed.
"That's what I said," the guy tried a confused face. "Latisha."
She looked up at the wall, sighed, and walked away. No emotion showed on her face. I'm pretty sure she officially hated all gods now, and honestly, I was feeling the same. This one was either too mean or too stupid for my taste.
"This'll be fun," David smirked, ready for a ridiculous adventure.
David Westmore POV
I totally believed the gods existed. All of a sudden, three fourth's of my life made sense; why my father wasn't around, and why my mother was single and weird.
We followed Alex into a room with a ping pong table, a mounted leopard head on the wall, and a sleeping goat on a couch. From another room, a man in a wheel chair entered and smiled warmly at us.
"Forgive the satyr," he said. "He has just gotten back from a difficult trip in California. Heard about the drought? It was his job to make it rain again. It took thirty-four other satyrs and even double the dryads and naiads."
"I do not understand," Diane stated bluntly.
"Goat man is satyr," Alex pointed to the goat which I just realized had the torso of a human. "Dryads and naiads are some types of nature nymphs or spirits or something."
"Cool," I shrugged. "Why are we here?"
Alex turned to the guy in the wheel chair. She was about to say something, but she doubled over in pain, fingers digging into her temples, and cried, "Dear heavenly lord, my brain is dying!"
I tried to come to her side to help, as did Diana, but she waved us away violently.
She began to curse for several minutes, before standing up straight, fixing the front of her shirt to look nice, and heaving a heavy sigh.
"I do not know who you are," she began saying to wheel chair guy as if nothing happened. "But I'm a friend of Percy Jackson's. I believe he has just watched me die. Anyway, I need your help getting back to the Avengers tower in Manhattan."
"Ah," the guy grinned. "Rachel! There are guests!"
A girl came in from behind him and smiled. She was probably a freshman in college. Her hair was fiery red and her face was speckled with freckles.
"Excuse me," wheel chair guy said. "I am Chiron. I run this showdown. This is Rachel Elizabeth Dare, our Oracle. She tells prophesies. That young man who is asleep is Grover Underwood. After the god Pan died, he received the responsibility to preserve the remaining nature in the world."
"Pan?" Alex got excited for a second. "My father is Pan. At least, Percy says he is. I... Can I talk to this Grover guy?"
Chiron shuffled in his chair, looking very interested in the girl.
Rachel rushed to Alex at once. "The child of Pan...? Its an honor. I..." She faltered. Suddenly, she looked a bit dazed and shocked. "I've seen you in my dreams."
"What?" Alex blinked.
"You were at Percy's house," Rachel said. Her face changed from confusion to anger. "You were trying to kill him."
I tried to contemplate and translate Rachel's words, but I wasn't so sure I could. Silence crept into the air and hung awkwardly between everyone. Even the sleeping goat wasn't snoring anymore.
"Percy and I promised on the Styx not to hurt each other," Alex squeaked weakly.
"What is that?" Diane asked.
"I river from the underworld," Chiron shrugged. "Anyone who breaks a pact bonded by the Styx will suffer terrible consequences."
"What?" I asked, blinking like an idiot.
"I swear on the Styx to all of you that I will not hurt Percy," Alex said, her chin held high. "Not intentionally, at least."
"I believe you," Rachel blinked, looking even more confused.
"I do too," Chiron said. "But we must be entirely sure. We will keep you under camper supervision twenty four hours."
"Will there be cheesecake involved?" Alex questioned. It was quite obvious to me what she cared about and what her priorities were.
Chiron sucked in a breath sharply. "If Percy's life is threatened by you and you alone, I do not think you really need to worry about fattening foods."
Well, that didnt make any sense.
Suddenly, a loud ringing sounded from outside, followed by the door to the house creaking open. Piper stumbled in, looking exhausted and frantic.
"What's the matter Piper?" Chiron's eyebrows furrowed in concern.
"Uh..." Piper looked at Alex urgently. "We have a problem."
A/N
I am having Shmood-worthy cheesecake cravings right now.
Is there anything I can do to improve my writing skills?
I TAKE CRITICISM GLADLY! :)
