A glossary of various things within the Lands of Ralosia. This is meant to be supplemental material, for those who are interested in the world I've created, or want certain aspects to be cleared up. There may be some spoilers amidst this information, so be wary.

Major Species

Ralosians

Beings believed to have been created in the image of the Goddess Ralosia. Varying light and dark skin colors, generally staying around a sand color. In essence, they are human beings like us. But the limits of their strength far exceed ours. They can increase their strength through rigorous training, exercise, and hardship. Weapons are of no use to individuals who have improved their constitution enough.

The majority of the Lands of Ralosia is populated by Ralosians. Dialtown acts as the largest Ralosian city in the world.

Dama, The Headmistress of the Fighting Academy, is considered to be the strongest of all Ralosians in the world as of Age 987. By Age 992, Diva or Vos may have taken that title.

Omnivorous.

Phantine

Beings with elephant like features. Large flappy ears, bulky bodies, stubby fingers, tusks, trunks, and circular feet. Many of them prefer forests or densely wooded areas, but many have taken to the city life that Ralosians tends towards. They typically avoid especially hot or cold areas like the Weld Mountains or Ichino Tundra. Like Ralosians, they are capable of the increasing their strength through rigorous training.

Some tend toward a tribal lifestyle, with the strongest of a specific group acting as chief and defending everyone. Chief Theo of Titus Forest is considered to be the strongest of all the Phantine in the world as of Age 988 and maintains this position up to Age 992.

Sometime after finishing the story, I discovered that they bare a striking resemblance to Loxodons from Dungeons and Dragons.

Phantine can increase their strength through rigorous training.

Mecarne

Described with having reflective, metal like flesh, smooth and slender features, sharp teeth, a small appendage along their backs that aid in swimming through all manner of substances. A metal sheen to their skins, with varying colors. They possess an imperviousness to heat and cold. Some have learned how to store heat and cold within their bodies and release at will.

Legends tell of a Mecarne which was struck by lightning. Rather than die, it absorbed the energy within it, and was able to expel that electricity at will in the form of bolts of energies and shields. A rare few have been seen with this ability.

Due to their impervious to heat and cold, many live in the hottest and coldest places in the world. Volcanoes, icy mountains, tundra, and deserts. Though they are no stranger to the less extreme locales in the world. They are particularly adept through swimming in water, sand, and even lava. Due to this ability, they often find themselves employed on sailboats or sand ships. Many are employed as blacksmiths as well, or as prison guards in the ice prison.

Mecarne can increase their strength through rigorous training.

Therma of the Weld Mountains is considered to the be the strongest of all the Mecarne as of Age 988.

Densius

Being comprised entirely of rocks, dirt, clay, and other pieces of earth, with some form of Heartstone at the center of their being.

To create a Densius, a Heartstone ritual most be undertaken. This usually requires something to act as a Heartstone, and enough earthy materials to form a body around them. Eyestones typically contain irises with a color similar to their heartstone. A densius with a ruby as it's Heartstone would likely have red eyes. One with an emerald would have green.

A Densius can bond pieces of earth to it's body, and in whatever manner it wishes. Though at first, it may need help from other Densius, at least until it learns how to bond earth to its body on its own.

A Densius can form their body however they wish. Most tend to form their bodies into a humanoid shape, they can take on more beastlike proportions, or even give themselves additional limbs. The downside is that pieces of their bodies may fall away from them. Though it can always be replaced. While Densius can form their bodies using dirt or clay, most tend towards stones for its solidity.

Typically, a Heartstone is some sort of gem, such as a ruby, sapphire, emerald, diamond or amethyst. However, it is not limited to this. Some have used gold, silver, opals, and even hardened clay as a Heartstone. There is no telling the limit of what can used as one. However, it is best for a Densius to have a sturdy heartstone, for it is damaged, even slightly, it could kill them. If a Heartstone is left intact, a Densius can be reborn. In this case they'll lose most memories of their previous life and start anew.

It typically takes a decade for a Densius to learn how to speak properly. Though they're capable of understanding speech much sooner.

Denius do not require sustenance of any kind, nor do they sleep. As such they are very social beings. Isolation over a long stretch of time can drive a Densius feral. If brought up in harsh enough conditions, this feral nature might develop early.

There is no known age where a Heartstone begins to gave out. It is believed that if a Densius stays out of danger and their heartstone remains intact, they have the potential to live forever. Dimon, a Densius who has lived over 400 years, has done so through caution. Amethi, the oldest known Densius at over 700 years, has done so through its incredible strength.

A goal of many Densius is to reach enlightenment, which allows them to control the Earth beyond their bodies. Amethi and Ebonheim have learned such an ability. They can shift the ground around them in a myriad of ways, even speaking through stone faces, carving messages onto walls, and attacking with rocky projectiles. The have less power on the earth around them the further it is away from their Heartstone.

Similar to Ralosians, Densius are capable of increasing their strength over time. However, it is tied to their heartstones, not the body surrounding it. A weak Densius's body may brittle and easy to fall apart. A strong Densius's body will be sturdy, and capable of weathering great damage.

In the Lands of Ranuulo, the monarchy have found a way to replicate the Heartstone Ritual and use it create a Densius slaves, often in the form of whatever suits them best. Often as beasts to act as mounts. The location where this takes place is in the Northeast of the Lands of Ranuulo.

Densius tend to live around areas with an abundant supply of stones so they may build and repair their bodies at any time.

Amethi has been known as the Greatest of all the Densius for many centuries in the Lands of Ralosia. However, the Densius known as Coal was seen as the strongest of the Densius in the Lands of Ranuulo.

Arachna

Native to the Lands of Ranuulo. Bi-pedal humanoid like beings with Spider-like features. They feature large oval eyes, pedipalp pincers around their mouths, and thin pointed retractable limbs that protrude from their back. They possess adhesive palms and feet, allowing them to climb a variety of different surfaces.

They possess the ability to eject webbing from their wrists, and it is often used to incapacitate enemies and to anchor themselves to points that they can swing from. Due to this trait, many Arachna tend to live in wooded areas or other locales with many vertical landmarks to allow them to take full advantage of their abilities. Many Arachna use their webbing to create structures and buildings. s

Their bodies typically have multiple colorations and pigments, often very bright colors like red and blue, but sometimes more subdued coloring like black and white.

Many Arachna have venom coursing through their bodies which can be secreted the pedipalps around their mouths. This venom can induce various effects depending on the Arachna such as paralysis, sleep, confusion, poison, and hallucination. Typically, this venom is less effective against other Arachna.

Arachna don't do well in colder climates and stray away from the southern regions of the Lands of Ranuulo as a result.

As of Age 990, it is debatable who the most powerful of the Arachna are. Many believe it to be Petri of the West, others believe it to be Edi of East.

Arachna can increase their strength through rigorous training.

Regenek

Native to the Lands of Ranuulo. Bi-pedal beings with scaly skin, snouts and sharp teeth, tails, and clawed hands. They're able to extend their limbs to great lengths, allowing them to attack at a distance, and reach greater lengths than most. This along with their speed in water aids them in traversal greatly.

If certain parts of their bodies are torn off, they have the ability the fully regenerate them. As they age this ability diminishes, but in their youth a Regenek can have so much control over their regeneration that they can exert themselves to regenerate immediately.

The Regenek are fairly hardy, allowing them to survive in a variety of locales. Mountains, swamps, forests, lakes, are all well suited to them. They are very sensitive to the cold however, and avoid the southern regions of the Lands of Ranuulo.

There are tellings of a Dragon-clan of Regenek, ones who possess wings and they ability to breath fire. But the location of such Regenek is unknown.

In the Prison City, the Khalm, the Regenek's regeneration ability can be seen as a curse. When rations are low and the prisoners are not being fed well, the desperate will take to cannibalizing the Regenek, using their regenerating limbs as a food source.

As of Age 991, Ongola was considered the strongest of the Regenek in the world. But after Zantii's War, that is up for debate.

Ranuulans

Beings believed to have been created in the image of the God Ranuulo, these people comprise most of the population of the Lands of Ranuulo. Spotted bodies, with dark ebon limbs, and pale torso's and faces. Their eyes are luminescent, glowing in a variety of colors. Their proportions are nearly identical to that of a Ralosian.

Over the centuries, Ranuulans have taken control of the Lands of Ranuulo. Many believe themselves to be the superior race, looking down on the Arachna, Regenek, and Densius that live among them.

Due to the hostile nature of the Lands of Ranuulo, the belief that might makes right rules their society. Kings are usually seen to be the strongest, until another comes along that can kill them. In the most recent centuries, the one who can wield Ranuulo's Sword is seen as the one only fit to rule. There have been many assassinations in the effort to lay claim the blade.

As of Age 991, King Zantii was seen as the strongest mortal Ranuulan in the world. But after the events of Zantii's war, it is unclear who the strongest would be.

Ranuulans can increase their strength through rigorous training.

Pizon

Wooly fur, hooves for feet, knuckles lined with hooves, and elongated snouts. Often times sporting curled horns on their heads. Resembling a sort of a humanoid-ram, these beings are not native to the Lands of Ralosia. Information of their origins is limited, a small selection of Pizon people visited The Lands of Ralosia from the Expanse, a space that expands beyond the sky. These beings often use their hooves knuckles and feet to attack, as well as their horns and hard heads.

Their fur color can vary, being as standard as white or as vibrant as a bright blue. What few Pizon have been seen have shown the capability to be fairly powerful.

Lifespan: Estimated to be around 60-70 years.

Orephi

Large black eyes, elongated necks, large, three toed feet, small mouths, large holes where ears would normally be, and generally slender frames. The Orephi are not native to the Lands of Ralosia. They're homeworld is a place called Oreph, a place which has the potential to orbit near the Lands of Ralosia.

While few Orephi are known, the small selection of them that have been encountered appear rather weak and unassuming. Very scholarly, and aware of celestial travel.

Lifespan: 90-100 years.
