Number 1

(Ok, so I'm skipping 5 years.  Mostly because I really want to start writing about their life with kids.) Disneylove8 😁😁

It's been 5 years since Conner and Bree have gotten married and they were enjoying married life.  They have traveled all around the world and even lived in Germany for a year.  They are now settled and living in New York City.  They have a very nice 1 bedroom apartment in Manhattan and right across the hall is their best friends Maddie and Jacob.  They were able to afford their apartment because Bree has been writing her best selling book series for the past five years.  The series was based on her short stories in middle school, the Cemetery of the Undead.

The series was about a pair of friends that live next to a cemetery filled with dead famous people and at midnight they all come to life.  The series was so popular among teens, and young adults and it was even turned into a Netflix series that ran for 5 seasons since there were five books.  On the other hand, Conner's first book was recently released and it was doing fairly well, but not as well as Bree's series.  But he wasn't upset because he knew that it just needed time.

Today was like any other normal day.  The birds were chirping and you could hear the hustle and bustle of the city that never sleeps.  Bree was a morning person, unlike her husband who slept in whenever he could.  So Bree got up and made a cup of coffee for herself and looked out of her amazing view of the city.  She took a sip of her coffee but something was different about it. It didn't have the dark rich coffee taste she enjoyed.

She walked back over to the kitchen and poured more of her vanilla half and half in it. She took a sip and it still tasted really bad so she poured it down the drain with disappointment. Just then her husband walked in and hugged her from behind.

"What are you doing up so early?" Bree asked.

"I got a text from my publisher. He wants to talk about sales." Conner said and looked at the sink and saw Bree's coffee. "Did you pour out your coffee again?"

"Yeah, I think we need to get a new brand. It tastes really bad and makes me want to vomit." Bree said and opened the fridge and got a bottle of water.

"I'll go get one on the way home. How are you feeling this morning." Conner asked as he kissed his wife.

"Same as I have for the past 3 months," Bree said. "I think it's just the stress and nerves from the 5th season of the show. It's almost done so I'll feel better soon."

"I still say you should go to the doctor," Conner said.

"Conner, I'm fine. It's just stress." Bree said and took a sip of her water.

"I have to leave, I have to be there at 9. I'll be back by lunch." Conner said and kissed Bree on the cheek.

"Ok," Bree said weakly and leaned on the kitchen island.

"Are you sure your ok?" Conner asked while getting his jacket.

"Yeah I'm fine, I'm just a little nauseous," Bree said and took deep breaths. "Go, I'll be fine."

"Ok, um call me if anything. I'll be back as soon as possible." Conner said and kissed Bree again. Conner walked out the door and down the hall and knocked on the door of apartment 925. Their good friend Maddie opened the door with her son Jaxon on her hip.

"Hey, Conner. What's up?" Maddie said.

"Hey, I have to head out for a couple of hours and I'm really worried about Bree. She is still really sick."

"Yeah, hasn't this been going on for a while?"

"Yeah, she thinks it's stress but I think it's something else."

"It could be stress. Creating a whole tv series can be stressful."

"Anyways, could you go and check on her, she didn't look so well when I left."

"Of course Conner. I'll go before I have to head out. I have to be at the theater at 12 for the 2 a-clock show."

"Thanks, Maddie, break a leg," Conner said as he walked away

"Thank you. Have a good day." Maddie said and closed the door.

Back inside their apartment, Bree was running to the bathroom. She had been throwing up and has been feeling sick for the past three months and kept blaming it on stress and the nerves since for the past three months she's been working of the final season of her Netflix show, The Cemetery of the Undead. After she was done throwing up, she sat on the bathroom floor. She was tired of feeling so lousy so she decided to look up her symptoms on the internet. What she found was her worst nightmare but her husband's dream. Signs pointed to her being pregnant.  She quickly opened the cabinet underneath the sink and took out a box of pregnancy tests.

Back in apartment 925, Maddie was putting her son Jaxon down for his nap before she went to work on the new Broadway show, The Space Princess.  It was about a princess from a foreign country who dreams about life in space.  Maddie played the main character, Princess Arabella.  Anyways, Maddie then heard her husband Jacob come home.  Maddie walked out of the bedroom and saw her husband sitting on the couch.

"Great your home, I have to head over to the theater," Maddie said while grabbing her backpack.  "I just put Jaxon to sleep."

"Great, I'm exhausted.  Have a good show."  Jacob said in a tired tone. Maddie kissed Jacob on the cheek and walked out the door.  She walked over to Bree and Conner's apartment and knocked on the door.

"Bree?"  Maddie said.  She then proceeded to open the door, good thing Conner left it open.  "Bree?  It's Maddie.  Are you home?"

She then heard something coming from the bathroom.

"Hey, I was wondering how you were feeling?  You want to come to the theater with me?"  Maddie asked while walking into the bedroom.  She heard soft sounds coming from the bathroom and she knocked on the door.  "Bree?  Can I come in?"

The door then opened and Maddie found Bree sitting on the floor against the sink and she was crouched into a ball sobbing.

"Bree, what happened?"  Maddie said and sat in front of her friend.  Bree then picked up a positive pregnancy test and held it in front of her.  "Oh my God!  Bree congratulations!"

Maddie gave her friend a tight hug.  When she let go she noticed that it wasn't good news to her friend.

"What's wrong?"

Bree lifted her head up to reveal her red puffy eyes from crying.

"How could this happen?"  Bree said softly as she was still crying.

"What do you mean?"  Maddie asked.  "I thought you guys wanted kids.  I remember you telling us that you were going to have kids after you've published your fifth book."

"I know I said that, but now it's real.  I was just saying that to give me some time to prepare, but I'm still not ready. I know how much Conner wants kids.  He's going to be so happy, but I never thought it would actually happen."  Bree said through her tears.  "I just want a break, Maddie.  I just published my fifth book a few months ago, and I'm now finishing up the fifth season.  I thought I was going to have a break.  Conner and I were planning on flying to Australia for a year, so we could have a break from everything.  Now that's gone.  I will never have another break again.  I see how busy you are with Jaxon and I think you're a super mom, but I see how tired you are, and this really didn't come at a good time."

"Bree you're missing the big picture.  I may be tired after work, but I get to come home to my husband and my baby who gives me the best cuddles and makes me feel like the best person in the world.  You know I felt the exact same way as you when I found out I was pregnant, but once I had Jaxon it was the best feeling in the world.  Some days you may feel depressed and tired, but it will be fine.  You want to know why?"

"Why?"

"You have the best husband and family in the world.  Your husband, he only wants the best for you and he wants to make sure you're ok.  After he left, he came to me and asked me to check in on you because he was worried about you.  Bree your not doing it alone, you going to have Conner there and I can guarantee he will love this baby more than anything because hasn't he been talking about this day for like years?

Bree let out a small laugh.  "Oh yeah, he's been mentioning kids since senior year of high school.  Maybe I am overreacting.  It's just, I've never thought of myself as a mother. The responsibility of raising a child, am I good enough?"

"Don't worry about that, but once you have the baby it will be stressful, I won't sugar coat it, but after a few days, you'll feel like yourself but more. Plus, a lot of first-time mothers make mistakes. You'll learn as you go. Plus you'll have your amazing husband, me and Jacob, and your family to help you."  Maddie said.  "It's going to be a new chapter."

"Definitely is,"  Bree said and wiped away her tears.  "Thanks for the pep talk."

"Your welcome,"  Maddie said and gave her friend another hug.  "So how are you going to tell Conner?"

"I don't know.  I guess I'll tell him today when the time is right."  Bree said.

"Well good luck!  I have to go, I'll see you tomorrow."  Maddie said and stood up and Bree stood up as well.

"Thanks again.  I'll text you when I tell him.  Break a leg tonight."  Bree said and hugged her friend.  Maddie gave another shriek of excitement and left the apartment.

Bree went to her bed and sat at the edge.  She put her hand on her stomach and sighed.

"Hey baby, I never thought I would be a mom.  Your the beginning a new chapter in our lives,  I guess I can't wait to meet you, and your about to hear a bunch of screams of excitement and those will be from your daddy.  I can guarantee to you that he will always be there for you and love you unconditionally, as he has done and been for me. Also, you've got to give me some time to process this. I'm sure you'll make me feel happy when I meet you, but right now I'm just really feeling lousy and confused about how I feel about this. Just promise me one thing...please stop making me throw up every second of the day, and can I also go back to liking coffee after your out?  Just promise me that?"  Bree said with a laugh.

Bree spent the rest of the afternoon making Conners favorite meal for lunch, Lasagna. She wanted to make him his favorite meal and then surprise him with the pregnancy test during lunch. While Bree was putting the Lasagna dish in the oven, Conner came bursting into the apartment with a huge smile.

"WE DID IT!!" Conner yelled with excitement.

"Did what?" Bree asked and ran over to Conner.

"Fairytaletopia: The Wishing Charm is the number 1 bestselling children's book in the U.S!" Conner said and picked up Bree and spun her around.

"Oh my God, I'm so proud of you!!" Bree said and gave her husband a tight hug.

"It's sold out everywhere overnight! This is amazing!" Conner said. "I can't imagine anything else making this day any better."

"I'm pregnant," Bree said quickly, thinking it was a good time.

"You're what?" Conner asked in disbelief.

"I'm pregnant. That's why I've been so sick and," right as Bree was about to finish her sentence Conner picked her up again and spun her around the room.

"No way! Please tell me you're not kidding." Conner said with the biggest smile Bree had ever seen.

"I'm not. I called the doctor a few minutes ago, we have an appointment tomorrow." Bree said and put her arms around Conner's neck.

"You have just made this day the best day of my life," Conner said tearing up. "Are you hungry? Do you need anything? I'll go out right now and get you what you need."

"No I don't need anything, I made lasagna for you."

"Hey, I'm supposed to be doing stuff for you!" Conner said still smiling.

"It was supposed to be how I was going to tell you, but I thought since you were so happy about your book it was a good time," Bree said.

"It was a great time!" Conner said. "So do you think it's a girl or a boy?"

"I have no idea, but I guess I want a boy," Bree said. "I grew up with all sisters and I think it would be nice to have a little boy."

"It would be nice, but I've got a strong feeling that it's a girl, and I think she'll look just like you," Conner said and kissed Bree's forehead.

"We'll find out soon," Bree said and smiled at Conner.

Conner then kneeled down, so he could talk to the baby.

"Hi baby, we don't know what you are or your name yet, but just know that I will always be here for you and love you and I can't wait to meet you," Conner said and stood up and kissed his wife again. "I can't believe this is happening."

"Me too," Bree said. "Now let's eat, cause I'm really hungry."
