Third Worst than the First

That night after dinner, Sophie went into her room to read a book and Conner and Bree were tucking Cody into bed.

"Mom I don't think I need to be tucked in anymore. I'm big now." Cody said.

"Oh really, then I guess you can go live by yourself now, and cook your own meals, and not see us ever again." Bree said.

"Actually never mind, you can tuck me in as much as you want." Cody said and laughed. Conner and Bree smiled at each other and they both kissed him on the forehead.

"Goodnight buddy." Conner said.

"Night dad, night mom." Cody said.

"Goodnight honey." Bree closed the door behind her and Conner kissed her, Bree smiled and kissed him back. "I'm so grateful we have such amazing kids."

"Me too." Conner said as they walked into their room. Conner walked into the bathroom to brush his teeth while Bree folded some laundry. After Conner brushed his teeth he walked back and sat on the bed.

"Conner, your unfolding my laundry."

"Sorry, hey, I talked to Alex. You know about...Scarlet."

"Yeah, what did she say?" Bree asked.

"She agreed."

"She did?!" Bree said. "What about you?"

"I agree too." Conner said. Bree got so happy she jumped on top of Conner and gave him a huge hug and kissed him.

"I'm so glad you agree." Bree said. "We'll tell Sophie in the morning."

In Sophie's room, Sophie had fallen asleep. Suddenly, she sat up. She was having another vision.

"Mother please, I'm sorry I looked in your book."

"You know your not supposed to look. Now for your punishment."

"No...NO!!"

Sophie snapped back into reality and screamed. Bree, Conner and Cody ran into the room. Bree grabbed onto Sophie the minute she got into the room, and Sophie hugged her tightly.

"What happened Sophie?" Conner said and sat next to them.

"Is Sophie ok?" Cody asked.

"Cody come, I'll put you back to bed." Conner said and led him back to his room.

"What happened Sophie?" Bree asked.

"I had some sort of dream, maybe a vision. Well, I've had them before, but during the day."

"When did this start?" Bree asked.

"Two days ago.  This was the third one."

"What did you see Sophie?"  Conner asked when he came back in the room and he sat next her.

"I saw a women, with a long fur coat and blonde hair. She was talking to someone, and said that she wasn't supposed to look in the book, and that she would punished."

"Bree, can I talk to you outside." Conner said and walked out and Bree followed, leaving Sophie very confused.

"What's wrong."

"Sophie just described the witch who took Scarlet."

"You saw her?"

"Yes, right before she knocked me out."  Conner said.  "We have to tell her now."

"Ok."  Bree and Conner walked back in and sat on both sides of Sophie.

"Sweetie, we have to tell you something, but don't freak out."  Bree said

"Oh no, what is it?  Your telling me I'm crazy, and that I'm going to go to a head doctor."

"No, it's not that dramatic."  Conner said.  "Sophie, when we found out we were pregnant with you it was the best day of our lives."

"Also because the day we found out, it was our wedding day."  Bree said and smiled.  "But...it wasn't just you, we figured out we were having...twins."

"Twins?  So that means, I'm, a twin."  Sophie said.

"Yes."  Bree said.

"So what happened to her?  Or him."

"She.  Her name was Scarlet.  A witch took her on your first birthday, she needed someone of dark magic for something."  Conner said.  "We tried to stop her but we couldn't.  We searched and searched for her, but we had to stop, because we had to raise you, and I'm glad we did, because you became an amazing person."

"But wait, what does this have to do with my visions?"

"The lady you described sounded exactly like the witch."  Conner said.  "And I've also read somewhere that twins can share visions."

"Where did you read that?"  Bree asked.

"When I was younger my mom was reading a book about twins, and I looked over her shoulder and read a page."  Conner said.

"Well that may or may not be true.  Sophie, why didn't you tell us about these visions?"  Bree asked.

"I don't know, I didn't want you to think I was crazy and get worried."

"Sophie, next time tell us.  So what else did you see?"  Bree asked. "Like did you see where they were?"

"Yes, I saw a field, I knew where it was.  It was close to the Elf Empire."

"Perfect, I'll tell Alex."

"What are you going to do?"  Sophie asked.

"We're going to start looking for Scarlet again.  You just gave us hope that she must be alive."  Bree said.

"Wait you said the witch wanted her because of her dark magic.  So isn't she evil."

"We'll see.  But hey, she's still our daughter and we love her very much.  The same way we love you and Cody."  Bree said.  "Ok, it's late.  Go to sleep, we'll talk more in the morning."

"How do you expect me to go to sleep after you tell me I have a long lost twin sister?"  Sophie said.  Conner and Bree laughed and smiled.

"Well try.  Good night."  Conner said and closed her door.  Sophie got up out of her bed and walked over to her bay window.  She rested her head on the window sill, and started to dream about what her sister might be like.  She soon fell asleep.

In the Dwarf Forests, Scarlet was doing the same thing Sophie was doing.  A few minutes ago, Scarlet had look in Holly's book and saw her sister, mother, father, and brother all together.  That got Holly mad.  She scolded Scarlet, and locked her in her room.  Now that Scarlet knew she wasn't Holly's real daughter, she was determined to find her family.  Once Holly told her that story, about her parents giving her away, she knew it was an instant lie.  So she wished on every star, that somewhere somehow a person would come and rescue her.  Like in her storybook.
