The New York Portal

Bree couldn't sleep at all that night.  She was worried so much about Sophie and Cody.  She wondered where in the Fairytale World they might have been.  She cried a few times, while looking at pictures of them.  She kept thinking about why that man would have taken them. She didn't know that much about him, and his words that she told her all this years ago were repeated in her head, "there are lot of evil people in this world who might want to take your child" . She soon cried herself to sleep.

She woke up late the next day.   She turned on the TV, and turned to the news channel.  One of the latest stories surprised her.

"Now on to our next story today making headlines today, a man in New York City who works at Belvedere Castle claims he saw something amazing."  The women reporter said.  "He claims to have seen like some sort of bright light behind the castle late at night.  He described it as like a portal."

"I don't believe it.  This guy was obviously hallucinating."  The other reporter said. "Or very drunk."

"I think so too.  So let's now move onto a real news story."  The women reporter said.

Bree turned off the TV.  She knew this man wasn't hallucinating.  A portal was obviously opening in New York.  If she wanted to get her kids back, she had to go New York.

There was then a knock at the door.  She went to open the door.  At the other side of the door was Roxanne.

"We have to go down to the police station to talk to them about our kids."  Roxanne said and went into the house.  "They called you, but you didn't answer."

"Oh sorry, I was sleeping.  I didn't get much sleep last night."  Bree said and closed the door.  "I told you, I know who took them."

"Then why won't you tell me!"  Roxanne said.  "My daughters life is on the line, and your kids as well!"

"Listen the person who took them is a guy I met a long time ago."  Bree said.  "That's all I can really tell you, and I have absolutely no idea who he really is, and how he got here."

"So it's your fault our kids are missing!"  Roxanne said.

"Maybe, maybe not."  Bree said.  "I'm just so sorry.  I want our kids back just the same as you.  All I can tell you is that the police won't help."

"Why won't they?"  Roxanne asked.

Bree had to think this over. Maybe it was time to tell Roxanne her entire story. Their children's lives were on the line. She didn't think about it anymore. She had to tell her.

"Ok, I'm going to tell you something, but you have to promise not to tell anyone." Bree said.

"Ok." Roxanne said.

Bree sat Roxanne on the couch and sat next to her.

"Ok, um I haven't been in Vermont all this time."  Bree said.

"Then where were you?" Roxanne said getting annoyed.

"I was in another dimension." Bree said. "A world filled with fairytales."

"Bree this isn't funny." Roxanne said and crossed her arms

"No Roxanne, it's the truth." Bree said: "A man I met for like a minute is the one that took them. I don't know what he wants with them, but I know where they are."

"Let me guess there're in this Fairytale World." Roxanne said.

"Yes." Bree said. Roxanne started to get mad and stormed to the door.

"Bree I don't appreciate what your doing here. My child's life may be on the line and your making jokes." Roxanne said.

"No I'm not!" Bree said.

"Then give me some proof that this world exists." Roxanne said leaning on the door with her arms still crossed.

"Ok, I'll prove it to you."  Bree said. "Just trust me...please."

"Ok...I'll trust you, because...I know you wouldn't make up a story like this, you love your children too much."  Roxanne said. "Ok, so our kids really are in another dimension."

"Yes and we need to go to New York to find them."  Bree said.  "A man in New York discovered a portal behind Belvedere Castle."

"Ok then, I'm trusting you.  If your making this entire thing up, I will never forgive you.  Let's go to New York."  Roxanne said.

"We'll have to buy some plane tickets.  Hopefully they have a flight today."  Bree said.

Bree opened her laptop and went onto the airports website.

"Ok they have a flight today, and they have extra seats."  Bree said.  "I'll buy the tickets.  We leave in an hour."

"Ok, do I pack anything?"  Roxanne asked.

"No just a backpack with food and maybe some clothes."  Bree said.  "We need to travel light, I'll ask Mrs. Peterman next door to watch Marshmallow."

"Ok, I'll go get packed."  Roxanne said and ran back to her house.

After Bree bought the tickets, she ran up stairs to get her backpack ready. She grabbed a bag out of her closet and packed some clothes. Her eyes then landed on the picture on her nightstand. She picked it up and smiled.

"I'm going to find you Sophie, and I will see you again Conner very soon." Bree said and smiled. She wanted to see Conner more then anything else in the world. Not only was she going to get her kids back, they were going to be finally reunited and a family.

She put the picture into her bag, and got dressed in a pair of jeans, a white long sleeve shirt and a tan leather jacket, with a pair of black combat boots. She put her hair in a ponytail, and brought her bag downstairs. She filled up her water bottle and put it in the side pocket. She put a few snacks in the bag and zipped it up.  She put all of Marshmallows food and toys in a separate bag.  She picked up Marshmallow and put the bag over her shoulder.

She was now set.  Before heading over to Roxanne's house she looked back at the house. She had a lot of memories in this house. She raised Cody in this house, and watched Sophie grow up. She would miss this house but she knew it wouldn't be the last time she'd see it.

She walked out of the house and locked it.  She first walked next door to Mrs.Peterman's house.  Mrs.Peterman was a nice old lady that lived alone.  Mrs.Peterson helped Bree a lot when she moved out of Charlotte and Bobs house.  She knew she could count on her for anything.  She knocked on the door and Mrs.Peterson answered.

"Well hello Bree, how can I help you?"  She said.

"Hi Mrs.Peterman, I need to ask you a favor.  I was wondering if you could watch my dog for a couple of days.  I'm going on a trip."  Bree said.

"Oh of course, I would love too."  Mrs. Peterman said.

"Oh thank you.  Well here his food, and some treats and toys."  Bree walked inside the house and set them on the counter.  Bree then handed Mrs.Peterson Marshmallow.  "Don't worry he's super easy."

"Don't worry, he'll be fine."  Mrs.Peterman said.

"Oh thank you.  Well bye."  Bree said and left the house.

"Bye."  Mrs. Peterman said and closed the door.

She then walked next door to Roxanne's house. She knocked on the door, and Roxanne opened it. She was wearing a purple shirt with a black leather jacket with a pair of jeans and a pair of high heeled short black boots.

"You ready?" Bree asked.

"Yeah, let's go." Roxanne said.

Roxanne and Bree got in the car and drove off to the airport. They got in the airport and ran to the gate. They had gotten on the plane in the nick of time. Roxanne slept the entire time, while Bree listened to music. Once they landed they headed straight over to Central Park.

"So what are we going to do now?" Roxanne asked.

"Well the portal shows up at night, so we could go eat dinner then come back when it's dark." Bree said.

Roxanne and Bree went to dinner at a local restaurant, and went back to Central Park when it was dark. They went to behind Belvedere Castle, and saw the portal.

"Is that it?" Roxanne asked.

"Yes." Bree said and smiled. "Let's go get our kids."

Bree and Roxanne jumped into the portal. They flew through a world of light and landed in the middle of the woods.

"So is this the Fairytale World?" Roxanne said and brushed leaves and dirt off of herself.

"Yes it is." Bree said. "I'm home."
