A Terrible Discovery

Sophie woke up late that morning, and instantly put on her purple and silver riding clothes, and put her hair in a bun and ran downstairs for breakfast.  She was excited to show Scarlet around.  As soon as she got downstairs she sat at the breakfast table with her family.

"Morning."  Sophie said, and quickly ate her oatmeal.

"Sophie honey slow down.  Whats wrong?"  Bree asked.

"Nothing, I just want to quickly show Scarlet everything before my magic lesson."  Sophie said.

"Oh.  Well do you mind if Scarlet joins you?"  Conner asked.

"Me?  But I don't know any of your magic.  Only magic that she taught me."  Scarlet said eating her oatmeal.

"Scarlet, its fine.  My sister will teach you everything you need to know."  Conner said and smiled.

"Do I have to go?"  Cody asked.

"No you don't.  Unless you want to."  Bree said.

"No thank you!  I'm good."  Cody said and quickly put his plate in the kitchen.

"Cody whenever you want to learn magic, we'll be fine with it.  But how about today I'll teach you how to use a sword."  Conner said and followed his son into the kitchen and grabbed a tall wooden spoon and started waving it around like a sword.  Cody laughed and grabbed a wooden ladle and joined in the fight.

"As long as it's wooden swords that fine."  Bree said and took away the spoon and ladle from them.

"Awe!  That's no fun."  Cody complained.

"No your moms right.  I'll break out the wooden swords, I taught Sophie with when she was your age."  Conner said.

"Fine."  Cody said and pouted.

"Don't pout.  I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun."  Bree said and cleaned the bowls.

"Mom, can we leave now?"  Sophie asked and stood up.

"Sure, just.." Before Bree had a chance to finish her sentence Sophie was already pushing Scarlet out the front door.

They ran into the stable and found a tall, muscular boy (about Sophie and Scarlets age) with blonde hair and brown eyes shoveling hay.

"Hey!  What are you doing in my stable?"  Sophie asked.

"Oh I'm sorry to scare you ma'am.  Your parents hired me to clean the stable and take care of the horses.  I live right next door.  When you move, your parents have agreed to give the horses to my family."  The boy said.  "This job is good, because I would like to know these horses before their mine."

"Well, don't get too acquainted.  Their still mine."  Sophie said and petted her white horse Roxy. "Plus, I'm not sure I'm moving. I will be the next Fairy Godmother soon. So I'll need my horses."

"Yes ma'am I understand." The boy said.

"Wait your not coming with us?" Scarlet asked.

"I'm just telling him that, so he won't want the horses." Sophie whispered to Scarlet.

"Also I don't think you'll want these horses, their very hard to train, very mean, and they hate new riders." Sophie said. Scarlet then laughed as a black horse licked her.

"Yup, that looks like a mean horse." The boy said and continued to shovel hay. Sophie walked over the Scarlet and the black horse.

"Wow, the first time you haven't bitten anyone new Beauty, and it has to be today!"  Sophie said.  Beauty reached her neck out to bite Sophie, but she was faster.

"So are we going to ride?"  Scarlet asked with excitement.

"I can tack them up for you ladies."  The boy said.

"No it's fine.  I can do it."  Sophie said and went to grab the saddle.

"No I insist it's my job."  The boy said and grabbed the saddle before Sophie could.

"Well, I'll let you do your job."  Sophie said.

"My name is Blake by the way." He said and put the saddle on Roxie.

"Sophie, and this is my sister Scarlet." Sophie said.

"Hey, your the Sophie that defeated that evil fairy from invading the Fairytale world a few years back."

"Yup, that's me. But I didn't do it alone I had my friends."

"Well, I'm honored to be working for a family full of heroes." Blake said. Scarlet frowned and walked outside. Sophie didn't notice Scarlet sitting on the stump outside until Blake was done tacking up both horses.

"Hey Scarlet, ready to go?" Sophie said and gave her a helmet.

"Sophie, I need to tell you something." Scarlet said. "It's important."

"Ok, well what is it?" Sophie asked and sat next to Scarlet.

"You know that evil fairy that Blake mentioned."

"Yeah, she was the Fairy Godmothers sister. Who is our great grandmother by the way.  The Fairy Godmother, not her sister." Sophie said. Scarlet began to form tears in her eyes, and right there Sophie could tell that something was really wrong.

"Scarlet, what's wrong?" Sophie asked.

"Sophie, I don't know how to say this, or how your going to react. But...but...I was the one who released her." Scarlet said. Sophie gasped.

"What? You were the one who released her?! Tell me your joking."

"I'm not. The witch made me. She taught me so much magic. I had years of training leading up to that moment." Scarlet said. "That's why she took me I think."

"You, you were the reason I almost died." Sophie said.

"What?!" Scarlet said surprised.

"You were the reason I was separated from my father." Sophie said and started to cry.

"Sophie, I didn't know."

"Mom, and I were separated from Dad for 6 years. I have terrible memories of that place because of that moment, and your the one who started it." Sophie said crying.

"That's why you don't want to go back." Scarlet said. "Your scared of getting separated from your family. I understand."

"Don't. Don't try to understand! That evil fairy almost killed me. My mom, and I were only supposed to be in the Otherworld for a few minutes, but we ended up getting stuck. If that fairy was never released, I wouldn't have spent 6 years of my life without my dad, and that was because of you!" Sophie said and cried harder. Blake was just noticing the fight and quickly ran back to his house not wanting to witness anything that was about to happen.

"Sophie I never knew. I'm sorry." Scarlet said and put her hand on Sophie's back. Sophie instantly got up and looked down at Scarlet.

"Don't touch me. I don't want to see you." Sophie said and ran to her horse.

"Sophie it wasn't my fault. I was forced to." Scarlet said standing up.

"You are related to the best heroes in this world. You were not born evil, and yet you did something awful." Sophie said and rode off on her horse. Scarlet kneeled on the ground and cried onto the stump. There was only one way to fix this, she had to kill Holly.  She got on Beauty and rode off to the Dwarf Forest.

Meanwhile, Sophie rode to The Center Kingdom and found Ruby and Hero in the library. Sophie told Ruby and Hero what happened, and they were just as surprised as her.

"Who would have thought. Your twin sister was the one who released Ivy."  Hero said.

"I'm never talking to her again."  Sophie said as Ruby gave her another tissue.

"Well, Sophie it wasn't her fault.  You said she was forced to."  Ruby said.

"But she didn't have to.  She could have been strong and said no. That's what good people do when their faced with a terrible task."  Sophie said and wiped her tears away.

The doors to the library opened, and walked in Ally and Prince Lance.

"Hey Ally, who's your date." Ruby said and smiled.

"Oh this is Lance. I just wanted to introduce him to you guys." Ally said. Hero and Ruby waved to him, and Ally noticed Sophie was crying.

"What's wrong?" Ally asked.

"We've got a problem. It's Scarlet." Hero said.

"Lance, can you wait outside while I talk to my cousin." Ally asked. Lance nodded and bowed, he then started to walk back to the entrance. Ally closed the doors behind her and walked over to Sophie.

"Hey, what's wrong with Scarlet." Ally asked.

"Do you remember Ivy?" Hero said.

"The one who released zombies, and darkness across the Fairytale World, and almost killed Sophie. Yeah, I remember." Ally said.

"Well guess who was the one who released her." Ruby said and hugged Sophie.

"Oh no." Ally said and gasped. "Sophie, is this true?"

"Yes, Scarlet is the one who released her." Sophie said.

"Did you tell your parents?"

"No, not yet. I came straight here after I found out."

"Where's Scarlet now?" Ally asked.

"I don't know. I left her by my houses stable where she told me." Sophie said.

"Come one."

"Where we going?" Hero said.

"I'm going to give her a piece of my mind. We can't have dark magic in this part of the Fairytale World." Ally said.

"Ally's right." Hero said. "Even though I think Scarlets innocent. She knows dark magic, we can't have that."

"True, let's go." Ruby said. Sophie wiped her tears and hugged Ally.

"Thank you Ally for standing with me. Just, don't hurt her." Sophie said.

"If she tries to use magic on me...I will." Ally said. They opened the doors and ran outside and found Lance on the steps.

"Oh Lance, I'm sorry. Family emergency, you can come along of you want." Ally said.

"No it's fine, I'll wait for you here. I'd like to explore this kingdom more." Lance said. Ally hugged him and kissed him on the cheek and they all ran to their horses. They then rode back to Sophie's house and to the stable.

"I don't see her." Hero said.

"I left her right here. She's probably inside." Sophie said. They dismounted their horses and ran inside. They found Bree packing boxes, and Cody and Conner holding wooden swords.

"Hey Sophie. Where's Scarlet?" Bree asked.

"She's not here?" Ruby asked.

"No." Conner said.

"We have to find her." Ally said.

"What's going on?" Bree asked walking closer to them.

"I'm about to tell you something, and I don't think your going to like it." Sophie said.
