Chapter 1: Getting answers
Natsu in the media bar
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I woke with a start. My mind was reeling with the dream I just had. It felt so real. Giving my body time to wake up, I sat in my bed thinking over what the dream meant. I've had it continuously for many nights now. After sitting there for some time, I lazily dragged myself out of bed and got ready. I finished getting ready and grabbed my coin purse, leaving my house.
As I walked down the street towards the market place, I began to think more about what my next move was to be. I needed to figure out what the tattoo in my dream meant, it would help me figure out the meaning of the dream altogether. I was pulled from my thoughts when I ran into someone.
"I'm so sorry." The words ran out of my mouth before I looked to see who I had bumped into. It was a boy about my age. He was taller than me with spiky purple hair. He wore a scarf that resembled dragon scales and a top that was more like a vest that didn't have any buttons. As I was observing him, something on his shoulder caught my eye. It was a tattoo. The same tattoo from my dreams. The second my brain latched onto what I had seen, images flooded my mind. They were images of me as a baby. I was surrounded by people, but they didn't have faces, or I just couldn't see them clearly. They felt so familiar. As the images left my mind, I saw a hand waving frantically in front of my face. As my vision cleared, the ringing in my ears slowly stopped, and I could hear what was going around me one again.
"Hello? Are you ok?" The boy I had run into was crouched in front of me, trying to get my attention.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Who are you?" I asked, still trying to collect my bearings and make sense of what was happening.
"I'm Natsu. And you are?" He asked, reaching his hand out to help me up.
"Lana," I answered, taking his hand and standing.
"Nice name. It sounds so familiar, though. I just can't place it."
"Thank you." A slight blush had crept its way to my cheeks. "I like your tattoo. What does it mean?"
"It's a symbol. It means I'm a part of the Fairy Tail guild." I've heard of Fairy Tail. They're a wizard guild that makes a mess of every place they go.
"I know of Fairy Tail. But what is a Fairy Tail wizard doing out here? There is no danger."
"My team and I are looking for someone. A girl. Actually, you might be able to help. Her name is Laura Miller. Or was it Lina Miller. I can't remember it was L-something Miller. Heard of her?" He asked. His expression getting more and more confused the more he tried to remember her name.
"Well, the only Miller around here is me. Maybe you're in the wrong town."
"Maybe. I'm sure her name is Laura, and yours is Lana, so it can't be you."
"Nope. Well, I hope you find who you're looking for. I have much to do today. Goodbye." I said, turning to leave and head towards the marketplace.
"See ya!" He yelled as I walked away.
The further I walked away, the more confusing the whole conversation I had with Natsu got. He is a Fairy Tail wizard, who was looking for a girl who has the same last name as me. But why is he looking for her in the first place? I had made it to the marketplace and wiped the conversation from my mind. I needed to get everything I need for my next trip. I think maybe I should seek out the Fairy Tail guild and find out how I'm connected to it. It was the smartest first move. Besides, even if it was a dead-end, I could still benefit. I need to join a guild anyway. Fairy Tail seems like a smart choice. If I'm gonna join a guild, then I need to prove I'm good enough.
