I woke up in the guild hall infirmary. I lifted my head up slowly but it hurt like hell. I felt something warm by my side and when I looked I found Natsu asleep there. His head was resting in the cress of the elbow near my shoulder and his left arm was draped over my waist in a very protective way. I blushed but luckily there was no one around to see it. From across the room I saw Sofia, laying on another bed completely out cold. She looked worn out and very tired. My wrists were covered in bandages from were to leather strapped had dug in. I sighed heavily and tried to sit up but Nastu groaned and my head still hurt so I decided to lay back down.
"It isn't a good idea to sit up." I heard Mirajane's sweet voice come from the doorway.
"Mira!" I said feeling really happy to see her. "Um...what happened? I don't remember much after we found Sofia."
"You blacked out. The amount of magic energy you absorbed should have killed you. It is amazing that you are still alive." I looked down at Natsu. "And he has been by your side since you got back." I blushed again and Mira giggled. "I think you are a really cute couple."
"Were not a couple." Though I wish we were I added silently in my mind.
"Give it time." Said Mira.
"Where are the other?" I asked her.
"Downstairs." I nodded. Then Natsu slowly sat up.
"Hey, do you guys have any food?" He said sleepily. I laughed and rubbed his hair. He smiled at me before standing up. "I hope you are feeling better."
"I am thanks."
"I must admit that I was pretty worried when you just collapsed out there."
"Thanks, but you don't need to worry. I am tougher than that you know." Natsu blushed and looked away.
"You guys are such a cute couple."
"We're not a couple." Natsu and I shouted together, which made Sofia wake up.
"Oh sorry for waking you Sofia." I said really worried about her,
"It's okay Kat. I was going to ask you something actually." She got up and came over to my bed. She jumped up and stood on my right hand side of my pillow looking at me.
"What is it?" I asked her kindly.
"Well..." She looked at the floor shyly. "See Carla is Wendy's exceed. Happy os Natsu's exceed and they are both dragon slayers. I was wondering because you were a dragon slayer too that you might need an exceed to." She looked back up at me. "Can I be your exceed please?"
"Of course you can." She smiled at flung herself at me. I hugged her smiling. "Okay then, let's go downstairs." As my stomach rumbled loudly.
