As the Kybuck Clan were inside the elevator, the Jedi thought about their next move. Suddenly, the elevator stopped.

Petro: Did you press the stop button?

Ganodi: No. Did you?

Huyang: It would appear that Dr. Merlot has much control over this building's facilities.

Petro: Well there's more than one way out.

Katooni: We don't want to get out. We want to get moving. Zatt, see if you can get the elevator up and running.....

Before Katooni could finish her sentence, Petro uses his Lightsaber to slice a hole in the ceiling of the elevator. Once the hole was cut, Petro jumps through the hole and into the top of the elevator.

Huyang: Always on the move that one is.

Katooni: Gungi, keep an eye on Petro.

Gungi nods as he jumps through the hole to join Petro. Katooni then turns to Zatt.

Katooni: Do you think you can get the elevator up and running?

Zatt: It's gonna take some time, but I think I can manage.

Zatt pulls out a device and begins to slicing the elevator's systems to override Merlot's controls. Meanwhile on the top of the elevator, Petro and Gungi surveyed their surroundings. At first, they found nothing. Suddenly, several Droids were deployed.

Petro: Looks like Merlot sent a welcoming committee for us!

Gungi: <That will not stop us!>

Without hesitation, Petro and Gungi began slicing through the Droids with their Lightsabers. Back inside the elevator, the rest of the Kybuck Clan could hear the fight outside.

Byph: That doesn't sound good.....

Katooni: Petro and Gungi can handle themselves. How far as we on that elevator, Zatt?

Zatt: I'm getting there. Just need a little bit more time.

As Zatt said that, the sound of saws were heard. They looked down to see a hole being cut from under them. Before they could react, the hole was cut and several small Droids emerged out of the hole.

Katooni: We'll keep these Droids off of you, Zatt!

With that, Katooni along with Ganodi and Byph kept the Droids off of Zatt while Professor Huyang aided Zatt in hacking into the elevator's systems. Outside the elevator, Petro and Gungi continued slicing through Droids when another elevator pulled up deploying more Droids. Petro proceeds to jump on the other elevator and begins cutting down the Droids.

Petro: I'm selling you for scrap!

As Petro begins cutting down the Droids, he Force Pushes one of the Droids on the gears, crushing it and causes the elevator to break down. Petro managed to jump back onto the elevator before it collapsed. Back inside, Zatt was making serious progress on the hacking.

Zatt: I think I got it! I got it!

As Zatt pressed the button, the elevator began falling at great speeds. Outside the elevator, Petro and Gungi noticed this.

Petro: Hey what gives? We're supposed to be going up, not down.

Inside the elevator, the rest of the Kybuck Clan finish the last of the Droids when they notice the elevator going down.

Byph: Zatt?

Zatt: Damn! Looks like I tripped the elevator's failsafe trigger. It's going down!

Katooni: Can you shut it down and restore the elevator?

Zatt: Yeah, but I'll need some time!

With that, Zatt begins working on restoring and gaining control of the elevator. Outside the elevator, more Droids began appearing.

Petro: Great.

Gungi: <Let them come! We'll cut them down!>

Petro and Gungi begin cutting down the Droids. Inside the elevator, Katooni along with Ganodi and Byph used the Force to slow the elevator to give Zatt more time.

Ganodi: Zatt....please tell me you're close on the elevator? I don't know how much longer we can keep it up!

Zatt: I'm almost there! Just a little more....

As Zatt worked on hacking the elevator, he eventually regained control of the elevator as it stopped and began going up. The rest of the Kybuck Clan took a deep breath as Petro and Gungi got back in the elevator.

Petro: Well that was harrowing.

Ganodi: Tell us about it.

Byph: Do....do we have to worry about Merlot deactivating the elevators?

Zatt: Not a chance. I severed the elevator's connections to the security systems.

As Zatt said that, the TV Monitor inside the elevator showed Merlot's face.

Merlot(TV): My my, aren't you a skilled young man. Had I known you were such a tech wiz, I would've tripled my security. Still, I suppose I should congratulate you all.

Petro: Oh really? How touching.

Merlot(TV): But you children still have a ways to go. Still, I'm surprised it took Old Oz this long to figure it out. Better late than never, I suppose.

Huyang: Whatever you have planned, we'll stop you. That is a promise.

Merlot(TV): As much as I would love to continue this conversation, our....little experiment must continue. And please do give it your all. It would be most disappointing for you to fall before the grand finale.

As the TV turned to static, the Kybuck Clan took a moment to gather their bearings.

Petro: Man I hate that guy.

Katooni: If what Merlot said is of any indication, it's that we've got a long fight ahead of us.

Huyang: Regardless, Merlot will soon realize just how much of a mistake he made.

With that, the elevator carried the Kybuck Clan to their next destination. As all this happened, Merlot monitored their movements from his office. He would continue to monitor the Kybuck Clan's movements with great interest. With that, the Kybuck Clan continued their mission in stopping Merlot's plans. But what they didn't realize was that they would soon face more of Merlot's monstrous experiments.
