Chapter 24

Jaaiz's POV :

"You son of a bit*ch...didn't I pay you the money to shut your mouth????" I screeched from the entrance of Tanmay's house. That man was enjoying a glass of watermelon juice dragging me in hell.

He stood up confusedly seeing me storm into his house.

"What's wrong?" He asked keeping the empty glass on the table.

"I repeatedly asked you not to drag my name in the middle. Just when my life was getting sorted you ruined everything."

"Are you talking about Siddhant? C'mon he deserved to know the truth..."

I felt like smashing his head on the pillar.

"I paid you for God's sake."

"So what?" He cracked a lunatic laughter.

This man was really getting on my nerves. Without thinking twice, I curled my fist in a ball and smacked it right on his face.

He fell on his throne with a thud.

"Don't test my temper..." I warned pointing my finger.

His eyes blazed at me in fury like he was gonna rip my heart out right here. However, he forgot that I can be far more treacherous than him once somebody tries to mess with me.

"You are gonna pay for this." He said, gritting his teeth.

"Well, try me." I shrugged enjoying his pathetic condition.

"I will burn you in hell Jaaiz."

"Really?" I laughed out, "I am already burning there. Besides, I can burn you alive. I don't need hell to burn you. Hope you got my point."

He screamed out to his security as if they were gonna hear him from the gate. Dumbass.

"Hey! Cool down oldie. Shouting in stress can lead to heart attack. I am leaving okay?" I smirked evilly.

He glared at me pressing his cheek as I walked out. From the very beginning, I sensed I was getting myself involved with the wrong person and I got more involved with this vulture every passing day thinking everybody was trying to drag me down. In reality, nobody ever cared what I was doing or how I was doing. It was just me.

This felt worse than I ever thought. If only I hadn't let my anger take over my thinking capacity, I would be enjoying in some beach rather than heating my head over a nincompoop like Tanmay.

With the storm in full fury and showing no signs of letting up, reaching office so soon was of no question. I stopped my car near a coffee shop. A couple ran into the shop trying to get a shelter in the storm. The guy was embracing the girl and she couldn't stop playing with the rain. I smiled. The magic of love and rain is so thrilling.

I lifted a card lying on my car seat. The address was just the the next building on the opposite side. I got down from my car, the rain still pouring heavy. People were running from here to there for a roof under their head. I crossed the road rushing inside the building and the rain already got my clothes wet.

It said second floor.

Scraping my hand through my wet hair, I opened the shimmery glass door and marched inside like a boss.

"Sir....Sir....you need to take an appointment." The lady at the reception shouted out still trying to sound sweet.

Turning back was no option.

When I opened the door, her eyes gleamed at me astounded.

"What are you-----"

I didn't let her finish. "Sorry gentleman. But you need to leave now."

It took a moment for him to answer.

"Uh---i---"

"Mr. Nath, I will have to see you tomorrow. He is an emergency patient...." Heena explained to her patient, softly whispering, "Severe Amnesia..."

I widened my eyes at her.

The gentleman left obediently and as he opened the door to leave, the receptionist rushed in a haste.

"Ma'am....this guy..."

"I got it Rhea. Emergency call." Heena assured her.

"What the hell do you think of yourself?" She asked passing me a sick look.

"Severe Amnesiac." I replied sitting down on the couch.

"Are you kidding me?"

"You said I could visit you anytime I felt depressed."

"Yeah. But there is a thing called appointment." She snapped.

"That's a funny word." I smirked.

She sat near me with a pen and paper and started her introspection.

"What's making you depressed? The rain, the storm or the thunder?" She asked, handing over a towel.

"None of it. I am not exactly depressed. I am angry."

"Why so?"

"My brother came to know what I did..."

"Oh..." She sighed.

"I don't understand why God doesn't kill some miserably head reeling people in this world....they should get a death worse than The Titanic."

"You mean Tanmay?" She arched a brow.

I felt like jumping up and hugging her for understanding my description without a name. We would have made a great team for deaf and dumb game in school.

I shook my head.

"Did you stick that note on your mirror?" She asked, arching a brow.

Shit. I don't even remember where I threw it.

I squirmed.

"I knew that." She scowled.

"What should I do now?

"You are a stubborn young man unwilling to listen to anybody."

"Except you." I gave a flirtatious smile. She looked away and started writing out some names of medicines.

"I don't need medicines Heena." I snatched the notepad from her hand. "I need salvation. I need a solution to look my brother in the eye and say that I am sorry.."

"What about Ruhanna?"

I dazed out of the window and smiled. "She is a strong lady."

"Fine" she sighed. "Why don't you go to your brother and speak your heart out?"

"Wow! Idea of the year award goes to you madam." I passed a sarcastic comment. "You know what? He won't let me step on the green grasses of his campus after knowing what I did."

She rolled her eyes.
"Why can't you stop being a jerk and listen to me?"

I shrugged.

"The thing is if you don't let this guilt out of your system, it will deteriorate your mental health. So you need to speak up for yourself or do something to regain his trust.." She took a breath and asked, "Is there anything else I need to know?"

Unaware of everything going around me, I kept staring at the droplets of water streaming down her window pane. As a child I never missed a chance to relish the taste of raindrops. It has been years since I last enjoyed the monsoon rain.

"Jaaiz..." She shook me, grabbing my shoulder.

I shivered with a blank look on my face.

"Quite an absent minded guy you are." She remarked.

"Ma'am shall I send the next patient?" The receptionist asked opening the door slightly for me to see her head.

Heena nodded.
She then turned to me and spoke,

"I'm afraid you must leave now."

"Yeah...hoping to see you again." I smirked, actually praying to see her again.

"Next time, do take an appointment." She reminded.

"C'mon I don't need an appointment to see you." I snorted.

She pointed her finger towards the door and warned, "Out please."

"See you." I winked before closing the door. Her brown shimmery eyes widened as a small smile crept across her lips. I can bet I am her favourite patient and she is my favourite doctor.

As soon as I reached my office, I called up Siddhant. I was 99.8% sure he wasn't gonna pick up my call. After all which moron would do that!

"Hello."

I couldn't believe he really picked up my call. He was really a moron to my happiness.

"Bhai...I need to meet you."

"When?"

A lump formed in my throat and I pinched myself to assure this wasn't a dream. In normal circumstances, he would block my number and by chance if he ever picked up my call, he will remind me how evil of a person I am.

"Uh---tomorrow at my place?"

"Alright." He hung the call.

This was the most unexpected conversation I ever had with my brother. Usually we end up a call in arguments and quarrels. Maybe, sometimes you don't get what you expect for the better.

I never forget to keep a photostated copy of all the business dealings with the political leaders. And when Tanmay is concerned, I have got a stack of his notorious acts as a raw proof which I never disclosed to anybody. They are more than enough to make Tanmay rot in his own karma. No matter how much you hate me, trust me I have always been a loyal business partner. But when someone tests my temperament, I forget my loyalty towards that person.
