Ozpin shows me to my dorm room which lucky for me has no one else in it. 

"This will be your dorm for now til we find you a team", he says

"I work alone", i tell him. He looks at me with curiosity 

"Tomorrow you will go under a test at 9:00, don't be late", he says as he leaves.

I walk around my room taking everything in. There's two beds, a desk, and one shelf and a carpet and a alarm clock and nothing else. I walk over to the bed and take my gear off and set it down by my bed. I lay down and look at the clock and it says 4:00. Should be enough time for me to get some sleep and look over the information i got. I grab my gauntlet and a hologram pops up showing all the information i need to know from Ozpin's computer.

Four hours later

I wake up and put my gear on. I put my pants on then my boots, next my bullet proof armor with my gauntlets. Then i grab my cowl and put it on and wait a few seconds as it fits into place. Then i take my utility belt and look at what i have left. 20 batarangs of all kinds, 5 smoke pellets, cryptographic sequencer, line launcher, grapnel gun, remote electric charge, explosive gel, batclaw,6 cluster bombs, and Remote jammer. I really need to make some more of these before i run out.I walk out of the dorm to find students walking about making me want to take a different route, so I head back into my dorm and climb out the window and decide to take the rooftops again to the tower.

In the tower 

I get to the balcony using my grapnel gun again and quietly walk behind ozpin as he's on his computer.

"So when do we begin?"

He jumps up and turns towards me. I'm use to how people get startled when i do my vanishing act. The league of assassins have taught me many things and the art of stealth was one. He motions me to follow him and i do. We enter the elevator and he pushes a button and we slowly go down.

"i've never caught your name by the way?", Ozpin asks

"It's matches...Matches malone. You can call me mat for short", i answer. We continue to descend until we reach the final floor. We walk out and a lady with a tablet waits for us and simply looks at me and begins to walk with ozpin. We walk to a cliff which looks similar to the one i climbed to get here. I see the launch pads and  i already know what i'm about to do. I walk over to the pad and stand on it.

"You will...."

"I will be launched into the forest and in the forest there will be a relic meant for me to find and when i do find it i'll make my way back here", i said cutting him off. I already know about the exam since i hacked into his computer and found out everything i think is about this universe. He ends up launching me with the press of a button and as i flatten myself out and begin to glide above the forest looking for the temple. I do a glide bomb then quickly pull up so i gain more altitude and sure enough i see the temple. I turn my body and head to the temple. As i land i role and end up in a crouched position. I hear the rustling of bushes and bring out three explosive batarangs because if my information's correct then i know what creatures are in these woods. Sure enough,  three beowolves came out and look at me with hunger. I throw my batarangs and they all hit the beasts killing them. I don't kill humans or animals but these aren't humans or animals. They begin to disappear and turn into black smoke. I look at the pedestals and there's only one piece and it's a chess piece which is the black knight. Ironic in my opinion considering my nick name. I grab the relic and hook it to my belt and pop my arm up and a hologram pops up showing me a way back to the cliff. I continue following the route until i come upon another  temple that i walk through then i hear an ear hurting screech and look to see a giant nevermore. From what i gathered there mostly like over sized birds which means break their wings and they can't fly. It goes for a dive bomb trying to take me out but i stand there and wait for the right moment. Right when it gets close i take out my explosive gel and i jump to the side but as i'm jumping over i'm spraying a straight line  down it's wing as it passes. I run forward and notice the bridge is destroyed so i use the line launcher and zip-line over the gap. The bird goes for another dive bomb but i pull out the detonator and explode the gel destroying one of it's wings. I walk away as i hear the screech of the nevermore falling to it's demise. As i'm walking i see a shimmer and stop. I turn on my detective vision and see some kind of orb watching me and i hate when there's video of me. I instantly grab my bat-claw and pull it over then i stab a batarang through it destroying it. I tear it open and find a chip, which I put into my cryptographic sequencer  hacking the frequency finding out it's a type of camera. I patch the feed of where it's broadcasting to my left gauntlet and i wait for the feed to show up. It shows a type of cafeteria that's actually pretty big and a bunch of teens eating breakfast but they stop when they see me.

"I don't like being watched", i said before i cut the feed

I grab my grapnel launcher and shoot it up the cliff beginning to ascend and once i get to the top i see Ozpin and the lady i met earlier.

"So did i pass?", i ask

Time skip

I'm standing  on a stage in front of all of the students at the academy but i'm still in my suit. Most are staring at me with curiosity possibly wondering what's under my mask but one person who looks more curious than anyone else is a little girl dressed in all red and black. As ozpin is giving his speech i pull up facial recognition and it pulls up a file on a "Ruby Rose". Has grey eyes, black hair and uses a scythe that can turn into a sniper rifle named "crescent rose" and her semblance (which I've learned is a special ability a person can be born with) is speed and currently her father is alive and...mother deceased. I begin to think about that night when my parents died and how lucky i was to have Alfred. As i was thinking about this i didn't realize people cheering but i just stood there and let them cheer. Ozpin dismisses them and i walk off the stage and instantly i feel a gust of wind. I look behind me to see Ruby with curious eyes full of excitment.

"Can i help you?", i ask

"That was so cool!!", she says

"What was cool?"

"You taking down that nevermore then smashing the drone and hacking it", she said with excitement

"It's nothing, it's just good training and preparing". I begin to walk off but she stops me before i leave.

"Hey, do you want to come with us to lunch?", she asks. I think before i answer but i decide pretty quickly.

"Sure", i say kindly. She begins to walk off and she instantly begins asking questions about my suit and gear and utility belt reminding me a lot of the flash who  could also talk really quickly at times. After what felt like an hour we finally made it to the lunch table and instantly i'm running facial recognition on everyone at the table as i sit down. I already know there names before they even ask mine. Ruby starts a conversation but i  only listen while using the bat computer (Even though it's in a different universe in the bat cave there's one built into my suit but doesn't do some things the one in the bat-cave can do) looking at all of their files in the schools database. 

"So what's your name?", yang asks

"huh? oh, matches malone but you can call matt for short", i answer

"Ohhhh, sounds interesting", she says with a smirk. My visor is already telling me what she's feeling and let's just say i'm not feeling the same way.

"So why do you dress like that?", asks Weiss in a judging way

"I dress like this because it intimidates people and scares crim....my enemies", i answer. She stares at me weirdly probably because i stuttered.

"What's with the belt?", John asks

"It hold little weapons i use and i forgot to drop it off at my locker", i answer. I can tell he's interested but then something draws my attention. I hear a conversation with one group sitting behind me as one has a newspaper with the front page saying "Bat Creature?" talking about how the bat creature saved a woman from being mugged last night and i turn back to the conversation as everyone's looking at me. 

"what?", i ask. Instantly one of them pulls up a newspaper in front of me with the same heading with a street camera catching a black smudge on a rooftop. I already know where this is going and it's not going to go well.

"Was this you???", they ask and i knew i couldn't deny it so i had to tell the truth, this one time.

"Yes, i was walking by when i heard a scream and i followed it and decided to help", i answer.

"So that's why you dress up as a bat and have weapons in your belt. You're a superhero!!!", Ruby says with excitement.

"I'm not a hero, i'm whatever i need to be", i said. I decide to take off my cowl because i think i can trust them with my face. I push a button and there's a slight hiss and i take off my cowl and set it on the table in front of me. Everyone looks because i haven't removed my cowl the whole time I've been here.

"That's noble", i hear blake comment

"Well if you excuse me i need to go to my dorm and get something ready", i say as i pick up my cowl putting it back on as i stood back up. I walk out of the cafeteria and head to my dorm and as i'm walking there everyone's staring at me, since i don't really fit in. I finally make it to my room and take off one of my gauntlet and press a button and put it on my night stand at it pops up a giant hologram of a map of vale and around this new world called remnant as the screen around the map with different kinds of news broadcasting stations with little red dots everywhere showing where there's been murders that match his M.O. I  stand back looking at the map and listening to all the broadcasts playing.

"Where are you joker?"
