MICHIC POV late June/early July

I was running through the woods at a very high speed. I then got to a meadow that I had never seen before. I ran into the meadow and stopped. I was breathless and noticed a lake. I walked to the lake and took a drink of water. I moved away from the lake and laid down in the tall meadow grass and cried.

I felt a nose nudge me and give me a lick. I looked up startled to see the big black wolf from last time. He nudge me to follow him.  I was unsure I wanted to do that. He growled and nudge me to follow again. I sighed and reluctantly followed him. We went into the woods and kept walking. We got to another lake in the woods and he indicated for me to stop. He walked behind a tree and come back out. It was Professor Jones and he was dressed, "if I had know. I was going to see a vixen shoot passed me. You were running like your tail was on fire." I started doing a high pitch yip in laughter. I actually started rolling around I was laughing and crying at the same time.  "Now calm down Rae. I don't know why upset you, but you are safe. Now follow me. There is a small cottage up ahead. I know Nicholae won't mind you staying there. There are some clothes you can change into there. If you want me can talk."

I followed him and within a couple minutes he was opening the door I went inside. He opened the door to the bedroom and then opened a closet . He said in here are a few outfits that were left here from past occupents. Just change and put in one of them. I will call Nicholae to let him know you are here. He then walked out and left me alone.  I then transformed back to Rae and put on an a light blue sweat outfit with a unicorn on it.  I even found a pair of socks. I walked back out of the closet into the bedroom.  I could here Professor Jones day, "ok will see you soon."

I headed toward his voice. Even though it was a warm summer night I did feel a little chilled. "Good your dressed. Now have a seat. You don't remind of a girl who gets emotional, but something upset. I am here if you want to talk about. If you don't we can talk about something else." He paused seeing if I would comment. When I did not he continued, "I read your thesis you wrote. It was interesting especially when you were able to read the language that my linguist hasn't transformed yet. You stated my hypothesis of being an ancient Viking civilization was wrong when the linguist said it appeared to be a combination of several language. You mentioned in the paper it was language from a group of people known as Kitsuni. I was going to call you to see about getting together to discuss that since next week when the university was going to be closed during the 4th of July week."

We discussed my paper and I told him, back home I have about 2 dozen family  journals that I have read that go back about 500 years. There were ones that were saved from a fire. It is kind of sad that I have about 3 dozen more that were water and smoked damage from a fire. I haven't been able to transcribe them yet. It is in the older journals that I learned this language with my grandmother's help."

Just then there was a knock on the door and Professor Jones answered it. It was Nicholae and he was carrying a couple of bags. He set them on the table. He took my hands and looked me in the eyes. I could not keep my eyes off him. I felt my eyes going heavy. Then drifted off to sleep.

NICHOLAE POV

When Sebastian called to say he brought one of his students to the cottage that he found crying in the meadow, I had no problem with him using the place. He then mention Rae seemed very upset.  "Rae O'Leary?"

"Yes! How do you know her?"

"She works for Mary Osborne and help host the going away party for Sarah that Drogo, Peter, Luna, Lorie and I went to the other night."

I then went to put the groceries away. Plus brought another bag with towels.  I went to the kitchen and made a pot of tea and heated up a bowl of soup. "You sure you have no problem staying with her. With Dai's due date coming soon I don't want to stay away too long. It isn't everyday a man becomes a father to triplets."

"Go I got it covered. Though I have been waiting for you to tell me she isn't human."

"I figure it wasn't my story to tell. She is a werefox."

I knew she was more than that, but Sebastian apparently did not. As he had just said it wasn't my story to share. Sebastian then left. While she slept I called Nash. I told him she was ok but sleeping. I would bring her home when she was ready. I then hung up and probed into her mind and saw her story. When I figured she would be out for the night I put away the soup and dumped the tea. I sat their reading a book while she slept,  I noticed she was starting to stir  right after the sun started to rise. I went and started making her some breakfast.

RAE POV

I woke up and was confused at first. Where am I? I then remembered what happened. I could smell bacon. I got up and stopped at the bathroom. I saw a comb there and combed my hair. I noticed I felt sticky so went back into the closet. I saw a green sundress and pulled it out. I then went and took a shower.

After I was dress and cleaned I went out into the kitchen. Nicholae motioned for me to sit down. He brought over a teapot of hot tea. He set a small plate with toast on it. Went back and put some bacon, eggs and fresh sliced fruits on my plate. I started to say something and he said, "we will talk after you eat."

So I ate the food in front of me and when it was done he asked, "I know you know I am a vampire. Do you consider me a good or bad one?"

I looked at him intently before replying, "I think you are good, but you struggle with the darkness."

He smiles at me. I am going to tell you some things I do to keep darkness away. I use meditation and I exercise. Plus I read. I am trying to point out that you don't need to be afraid of your Kitsuni affect on Nash. While you slept I read your memories. Some you cannot remember. I can tell you that you are good, and cannot drain his essence."

I sat there staring at Nicholae. Then I told him, "how dare you read my thoughts. In regards to meditation I just started meditating  this past week. I found a place to learn"

"So you met Erma. She is one of the few humans that knows for sure what my brothers and I are.  We have meditated together since she came here as a young child. She helped me over come my darkness. We now get together every couple of months to meditate together or during or after my father comes.  How about I call her and we go over there. I am sure she can help you."

"I would like that." He nods and gives her a call. Then he drive me to her house.  I noticed we drove into a gated community where I see 5 homes and a sixth home being built around a small lake. We get to fourth home and he pulls into the driveway. Nicholae  and I get out of the car and he walks me to the door. He stops at the door and says, "I think you need to talk to Erma one on one. You need a woman to talk to. Remember what I said about working to control your darkness and you cannot hurt Nash. I am not exactly sure what all I saw, but Enock and Enuck said no one could hurt you two as a couple." He then leans over and gives me a gentle kiss on his cheek. "Tell Emma I said blue and orange." Then he zooms back to his car just as Erma opens the door and he waves to us. He climbs in and drives away.

"Come in child. I can tell something is really bothering you"

I sat down and then told her about all that been bothering me. My face I know had turned bright red. Erma said, "is he your compeer?"

"Is he my what? Why do you say that?" I get a flashback of Isabella saying something about that and then my mind gets fuzzy. "

"You're a Kitsuni and Aayda never explained to you about comperes? Especially since your grandparents were comperes?"

"No. What are comperes?"

"Do you feel tinglely when Nash touches you?" I shake my head yes. "Then he is your compere. Basically means you and him will come together like man and wife. I am not sure how but as a couple you two will become stronger. He will through you coming together will transform from human to Kitsuni. Your Enock was the only Kitsuni of your den. You have to remember I was only a child when I left though. There may of been others but if so no one talked about in front of me."

"You mean I won't kill him, but transform him? I will have to talk to him."

"I think we need to calm you down. Let me take you to my meditation room."

"Ok. Nicholae says to say blue and orange."

"That is an excellent choice." Then we went to the room and spent the afternoon into late into the night. 

The only break we took was when Eve knocked on the door and said, "Dinner is ready." Then after we ate both Eve, Ethan and Nicholae joined us."  When it was 3am we all headed to our own homes. Nicholae dropped me off and I went to the back door. I slipped out of the outfit and transformed to Michic and headed to bed.
