(Brightkit's POV)
"Brightpaw! Whitepaw! Frostpaw!" The Clan cheered.
Lionclaw had her kits, six of them, but one had been stillborn. She was left with Shadowkit, Hawkkit, Cloudkit, Stormkit, and Goldenkit. Her eldest tom, whom had been named Risingkit, had birth defects, and had been stillborn. Shadowkit, a strong black tom, already had a serious crush on Frostpaw.
My new mentor Stormwing padded up to me. Frostpaw had gotten Riverheart, and Whitepaw had gotten Patchclaw.
"Are you ready to tour the territory?" Stormwing asked me.
My eyes grew "Yes!" I said and then I asked "Are we going with Frostpaw and Whitepaw?"
Stormwing shook her head "No. I'm showing you both the territory and the best places for herbs. Also, we are going to have to leave very soon, which is why I wanted your ceremony at dawn. Tonight's the half moon, and we are going to the Silver Plateau to meet StarClan."
I stared at her. My first night of being an apprentice will be spent at the Silver Plateau? Meeting cats from other clans before my siblings? This was both incredible and scary at the same time. I didn't know what to say.
Stormwing purred "You ready to go? We are meeting at the Forest Glade at around sunhigh, and then we are going through WillowClan territory to the Silver Plateau."
I nodded and I looked at the sun. It was close to sunhigh, so we set off. I looked around at the rivers and couldn't wait to swim sometime. The trees were in thick clumps, and I could see patches of herbs and bushes of berries in the clumps.
Finally we arrived at the Forest Glade, the Gathering place of the Clans. I saw three cats already there; a gray-brown she-cat, a gray tom, and a tortoiseshell she-cat a bit older than me.
Stormwing nodded her head to them. "This is my new apprentice, Brightpaw."
The gray tom dipped his head "Welcome Brightpaw. I'm Sagetail, and this is my apprentice Tansypaw." He said nodding to the tortoiseshell by him.
I studied their name to appearance. I wondered about the other cat.
The other she-cat seemed to read my thoughts "I'm Twilightfire." Before turning to Stormwing "Duskberry, Poolpaw, Thrushfang, and Snowfeather should be here soon, and we'll meet Mintsong on the way."
All of the names were confusing me. I wasn't sure about how I would remember all of the names! Then two cats came into the clearing from the pine forest. A brown she cat was next to a smaller white one.
Twilightfire dipped her head to them "Thrushfang, Snowfeather, how are you?"
The brown she-cat, Thrushfang, as she was called, mewed "Just fine."
Snowfeather's eyes locked onto my pelt "Who are you?" She asked me.
"I'm Brightpaw, Stormwing's new apprentice."
Snowfeather purred "It's always nice to have a new cat join us, another cat to continue the lines of medicine cats."
I just stared at her before going back to Stormwing's side. A yowl came from the marshy area as a dusky brown she-cat and a black she-cat raced down.
"Sorry! Thornstep got a thorn in his paw right as we were about to leave.
I purred in amusement. Stormwing said "It's alright Duskberry. I assume you and Poolpaw took care of it."
"Yep." Duskberry said. "Poolpaw is receiving her full name tonight."
Sagetail broke in "Can we go? We won't get there in time if we don't hurry."
"Sorry Sagetail." Duskberry said before we set off.
We headed into WillowClan territory and stopped at their camp, where Mintsong, a pale gray she-cat, came out and joined us. We continued on our journey, climbing up a steep hill. Then I saw the Silver Plateau.
It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. Flowers of all colors shone silver in the moonlight. In the center was a tree. It's leaves glowed, and Twilightfire called "Hurry! StarClan is lighting the leaves!"
We hurried over and Stormwing said "Spirits of StarClan, I present to you this apprentice. She has chosen the path of a medicine cat. Grant her your insight so she may heal according to your ways."
"Come forward and eat a leaf." She said.
I stepped forward and ate one of the leaves. I slid down into a deep sleep.
I woke up in a starry forest. A black and gray kit came up to me and mewed "Welcome Brightpaw. My name is Risingkit."
I gasped "Risingkit! I saw you die though!"
"You did, and now this is my home. Even though I miss my mother and siblings, I know that StarClan never wanted me to live to be like you and your siblings. Even though my life was short, I at least got to hear my name before I died."
"Okay. Do you want me to tell Lionclaw."
Risingkit shook his head "You don't share dreams with your Clanmates unless it's your leader or mentor. Other than that you keep them to yourself."
I nodded and he started to fade away. I cried "Wait! Stay with me some more!"
But he was gone.
I then woke up to see I was the only one awake. Then Poolpaw sat up alarmed. Then she looked at me and calmed down. I assumed that something bad had happened in her dream. Duskberry was next, and then Stormwing. Shortly after Thrushfang, Snowfeather, Mintsong, Sagetail, Twilightfire, and finally Tansypaw woke up.
Duskberry stood up "Poolpaw, come here."
Poolpaw stepped forward.
"Poolpaw, you have completed your training, and it is time for you to become a full medicine cat of MarshClan. I, Duskberry, medicine cat of MarshClan, call down upon my ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand your noble code, and with your guidance she will serve her clan for many moons to come. Poolpaw, do you promise to uphold the ways of a medicine cat, and to heal your clan according to StarClan's ways?"
"I do." Poolpaw said.
"Then from this moment on, you shall be known as Poolcloud. StarClan honor your kindness and insight, and we welcome you as a full medicine cat of MarshClan."
"Poolcloud!" I called, and the others chanted as well.
I wonder what my name will be. Maybe Brightcloud, or Brightskies. Or maybe even Brightstorm. Brightpath? No, doesn't make sense.
