Chapter 11

"Firstly before I continue, I will say one thing. Nothing is kept secret within this family. So I will only ask once. How long have you been planning to go to London?" I roll my eyes at her.

"It was only decided today Mrs. Kingston." Carl responds but I don't reply to her.

"You both know that the F.T.C Fundraiser Auction is this Friday, and a date with Paulina is one of those auctions."

"What?" We all say at the same time, staring at my mother in disbelief.

"When was I notified of this?"

"I just notified you." She cunningly replies, making me chuckle darkly.

"I am truly starting to believe that you purposefully try to make me despise you mother." I say while standing to my feet.

"I have more important things to focus on than your anger towards me Paulina."

"Tabatha." Father stands this time and she rolls her eyes.

"You both are to be in attendance for the auction." She says ignoring father.
"You can go on your silly trip after."

"Tabatha!" Father yells and she looks to him.

"What Gregory?" She dryly asks

"Is it that time? Is that why you are acting more cantankerous than the norm?"

"Oh please father she is naturally a heartless bitch."

"Paulina!"
"Watch your mouth little girl?" She points at me.

"Or what mother? What are you going to do!? Because I dare you to lay a hand on me and not have me release all the anger I've been hoarding inside of me on you." She narrows her eyes at me, but truly I did not care. She is such a nuisance.

"When will you let go of that Paulina? You seem happy with your husband now." She says and I feel my anger rise again.

"You fucking bitch!" I yell, picking up my glass of water, throwing the entire thing at her. She manages to dodge it just before it could hit her face.

"You rotten little girl!" She yells going to come to me but father grabs hold of her. Carl grabbing hold of me as I reach for another glass to throw at her.

"Let me go Gregory! Let me teach the girl a lesson. Dare she throw a glass at me!"

"Fuck you mother dearest, and let me go!" I shout pushing Carl away from me.

"To be sold to the highest bidder once again." His entire countenance falls and I storm out the room.

——
Gregory Kingston

"Help me to understand why you believe that was necessary Tabatha?"

"What do you speak of husband?" She feigns ignorance.

"Do not play dumb!" She scoffs, fixing herself.

"I truly wish the glass had hit you, maybe then it would have knocked some sense into you." Carl says, turning to leave.

"Did you hear what you son in law just said to me?" She chuckles in amazement.
"I cannot believe this." She begins to laugh to herself.

"I am also starting to believe that you purposefully try to ruin our daughter's life. I truly believe so." She rolls her eyes, giving off this impression that she does not care, and that was what angers me more.

"Those two have been like oil and water for years Tabatha, years, and finally today I saw that they are making some progress at being happy and you just send her right back to the start."

"That witch does not deserve happiness after what she did."

"WHAT EXACTLY DID SHE DO!" She glares at me.
"What the fuck did she do Tabatha, tell me!" She doesn't reply and I walk up to her roughly grabbing her arm.

"Ow Gregory! You're hurting me."

"Stop treating our daughter so hostile Tabatha. Stop blaming her for falling in love. Stop treating her so cruel!"

"Stop letting her get away with what she did Gregory!" She pulls her arm from me.
"She gave herself to that colored boy knowing she was always betrothed to Carl. Our name would have been tarnished if anyone had come to know of what she had did, and that she had fallen pregnant for him! Why can't you seem to see!"

"She was a child Tabatha-"

"She was well aware Gregory! Stop treating her like some small fragile girl! Paulina knew what she was doing, and thought she would just get her way and get to live happily ever after with her lover! It does not work like that!"

"So this is what it is about." I coldly say and she clenches down on her jaw.
"You're anger towards her stems off of what I did."

"Of course it does! I find you fucking the father, only to find her screwing the son two days later! Neither of you concerned for what your actions would do to our family, neither of you concerned of how I would feel! And now you prance around here with your faggot lover, and she's suddenly getting along with her husband and I'm just to accept it as if nothing had happened—heck no!"

"And you know what irritates me even more Greg, I thought of doing to you as you have done to me. Finding a man to satisfy my desires but I couldn't even bring myself to approach the man. Why, because what if they tarnish our reputation? What if they try to blackmail our family! I seem to be the only one who cares about us!"

"You are not Tabatha! I care for this family. Paulina does too. But you cannot blame her for falling in love."

"And what about you huh? Should I not blame you either? Do you even still love me Gregory?" I step towards her, going to touch her cheek, but she hits my hand away, taking a step back.

"Do not touch me." I sigh.

"I've never stopped loving you Tabatha. I just love—" a look of pure hatred overtakes her face, but her eyes held so much sadness.

"You love him?" She mutters so softly I would have missed it.
"Twenty five years Gregory. Twenty five years!" She pushes against my chest.
"I married you when I was only twenty one, gave birth to your child at twenty two. You promised my parents, our parents that you would care for me for the rest of my days. You promised them at their grave!" She yells and I step towards her but she pushes me away from her again.

"I...I can't anymore. Anymore and I fear I will kill you Gregory." She admits and I reach for her again but she hits my hand away.

"I said do not touch me!" She glares at me.
"I'll be your happy perfect wife for all to see when in public. I'll keep the laws of the Kingston name, but I hate you with a passion Gregory Kingston."

"Tabatha-" I reach out for her but she hits my hands away turning to leave but freezes when we find Robert standing by the door.

"Move." She commands him as she walks forward again.

"No."

"I said move you colored bastard!" She tries to push pass him but he does not move an inch.

"I said no Tabatha."

She spins around to look at me, her face red with anger as she shouts.
"Tell your lover to move out of my way Gregory!"

"I said no. Now the three of us are going to sit down and talk like adults."

"Who does this basta-"

"Watch your mouth with me Tabatha Kingston." He darkly tells her and she lets out a humorous huff, turning to look back at me.

"I think your ass-licker has lost his sense of mind Gregory." I open my mouth to say something but Robert's reply to her shocks me.

"And I think your bitch needs a good talking to Greg." By the share force of her head snapping to look back at him, I am surprised she did not receive whiplash.

"E-Excuse me?"

"What? You thought you are the only one who can speak as such. Now I won't repeat myself, go and sit down." He points past her and she huffs in disbelief. He raises an eyebrow at her when she doesn't move, and she turns around stomping over to the chair farthest from me, but Robert clears his throat and she looks to him.

"Sit in your usual seat." He tells her and she opens her mouth to answer back to him but he slams his hand down on the table and she quickly moves off

"You too Greg. Sit down." I nod, siting down in the seat opposite of Tabatha, while Robert sits at the head of the table.

"So you are not even the head of the family anymore?" She mockingly says, rolling her eyes.

"Gregory is the head of your family Tabatha, but I am the head of this relationship." She looks at him like he's crazy.

"What relationship? There is no relationship between us." Robert looks to me as to say 'tell your wife' and I sit up straighter, holding my hands in front of me.

"I know you are angry with me Tabatha, for what I am, and because I like Robert but I promise you I do not want to be with any other woman." She scoffs.

"You keep saying that. I don't want another woman, no other woman is for me. What does that mean Gregory?"

"I..." I glance at Robert and he nods.
"You tell her." I say and sit back folding my arms.

"Some oh I love to dominate." He mutters under his breath and I gasp in shock.

"I do okay. I just...she can be a lot to handle when she's angry." I try to whisper the last part so she wouldn't hear, but it seemed she did anyway, by the way her eyes glare at me.

"You better be lucky I'm keeping myself calm right now Gregory, or else I would jump over this table and show you a lot to handle. Now...what is it that the fool is so afraid to speak to me about?" She looks back at Robert.

"Your husband desires to be with us both." He replies as if it was nothing, and then it was like slow motion.

One second she was sitting, the next she was flying over the table like superwoman.
"Tabatha wait!" I yell, quickly standing up, the chair falls to the floor with a loud bang, Robert rushing to grab hold of the angry woman.

"Let me go you bastard! I said let me go." He lifts her off the table with ease, but she continues to fight him.

"Calm down!"

"Don't tell me to calm down you black bastard! I will kill you Gregory Kingston! What am I, some whore to satisfy your fantasies!"

"Tabatha I won't tell you again." She pushes hard against his chest, but really she only pushes herself back.

"Don't talk to me like I am your child you bastard!" She points in his face.
"I am sick and tired of both of you and your love affair. Now you want me to play THIRD WHEEL!"

"Tabatha-"

"SHUT UP GREGORY MATHEW KINGSTON!" I remain quiet, both Robert and I watching as she begins to pace, mumbling under her breath. I am sure I heard a few curse words as well.

She suddenly stops walking, looking to me with a look that surely could kill. Her hair was no longer in its neat state, and her clothes disheveled but still she looked so beautiful.

She takes a step forward and Robert stretches his hand out to stop her, but she pushes it away, glaring up at him.

"So the both of you sat down, and had an entire conversation of how to add the desperate lonely wife into your duo, and thought I would just agree to it." She says in a dark tone.
"What really did you expect out of this Gregory!? You expected me to say yes!"

"Yes?" She rushes towards me again, but Robert grabs hold of her waist, and she pushes his hand off her, slapping him in his face.

"Fuck you both." She turns to leave, but Robert follows her, grabbing her arm and turning her around to face him. I watched as they stared at each other with the same rage, and honestly I couldn't help but feel the front of my pants tighten.

"I don't particularly want or desire any part of this also, but it is what Greg wants."

"And what Greg wants, he gets, correct? You are going to let him use you like that? He's wrong for asking either of us to give into his fantasy!"

"Yet you desire your husband." She scoffs pulling her arm out his grip. It was starting to turn a bright red, but it was expected to happen after being grabbed so many times.

"I want my husband only. Not to share him."

"Yet you know you will never get that." She glares at him.
"I'm not saying this to hurt you. It's the truth and we both know it. You think I want to be with a woman? Well I don't, but the man I love wants his wife." My eyes widen and she begins to laugh.

"Truly we both deserve each other. Only just met and already exchanging I love yous. Do you not hear how wrong your request to me sounds? The man I love wants his wife? Do you not hear the foolishness that you spew?"

"Tabatha-"

"You truly have me to believe you are fine with your lover being with you and a woman?"

"I am fine with him being with his wife." Robert replies and she scoffs out a laugh.

"I am okay with him being with his wife." She mocks. "As if you have right to proclaim what you are okay with. You let him make you pathetic."

"I don't make anyone pathetic Tabatha."
