☆ THE KINGS VENGEANCE ☆ Part Five ☆ All Is Brought To The Light ☆

Didyme tried to keep her mind off the loudness of the war going on just a couple miles away from where the Castle sat. She mentally cursed her vampire ability to hear really good, as she sat down on her sofa. She worried for her brother and husband. Longing to be back in Marcus's arms, and to feel his touch. Wishing to hear of Aro's new ideas to take complete power over the vampire world. Though he bored her, and annoyed her. She found herself actually praying again, just for the sake of her loved ones.

Though they were cold creatures, Marcus always warmed Didyme up. A book on her lap went unread as she brushed through her long dark hair. Her nightgown on, and most of the candles that lit the room were put out. Only a few remained. Though she didn't need such things, she liked to have them around. It made her feel more human. Aro would laugh at such statements, but Marcus always encouraged her to do what she felt right. The sound of heavy footsteps approaching Didyme's room, caused her to place the brush down. Watching as her door creaked open quietly. Her face lit up, full of joy and love, as Aro came into view.

"Brother. Oh my sweet, sweet brother. You've made it!" She hopped up and rushed over unto the arms of Aro. She hugged him so tightly that if he were human, she'd have crushed him. Aro took this time to see through her memories, and thoughts. Didyme still planned to leave. Sighing he pulled her away, causing her to look hurt. He held no emotion in his face as he took in his sister one last time, and ended her life.

Aro was so quick, that no one noticed his disappearance on the battlefield.

The vision ended, leaving all eyes wide and hearts crushed. Everyone watched in horror as Aro killed his own sister. The smirk that crossed his face as he detached her porcelain head, caused the vampire’s to shiver in disgust. The vision ended, and everyone shared a look with one another, ready to pounce and end Aro. Demetri was the first to notice, then everyone else saw. Aro was gone.

“You have done a great wrong towards me, young Chelsea.” Marcus spoke, forcing her head to be in a position to where she was looking him right in the eyes. All the vampires in the room just watched, as she was held at his mercy.

“Please, just...end me.” She began to beg so she could be with Afton. Marcus just smiled down at her.

“Funny, I wanted that same mercy, but because of you. I was denied such a request. So no, I will not give you the blessing of dying so you may be with your mate. You will be sent to the dungeons. Where you will slowly resolve into nothingness. Just like I did all these years.” Marcus commanded two guards, Santiago and Renate, to escort Chelsea to her new home as he had a lower guard burn the remains of Afton. Marcus made his way to his throne. Sitting, he turned his gaze on Caius.

“Marcus I -” Marcus cut Caius off by lifting his hand. - “Do not think you are free from this. You are just as responsible for the death of my dear Didyme, but your punishment won’t be quite the same as Chelsea’s was. “ Caius looked down in shame, knowing there was no use in fighting. He had no one on his side, and he wasn’t just gonna flee leaving his mate like Aro did.

“Demetri, Felix, Jane, and Alec. Step forward children.” Marcus demanded. The four guards came forward instantly, bowing in respect and awaiting their orders.

“You four do know that seeing as Aro had escaped, he will try and form an army?”

“Yes master, we are well aware.” Alec responded, knowing exactly where this was going.

“My children, I appreciate your loyalty. Now, go, and spend time with dear (Y/N). Fill her in on everything that is going on. Next week I will be sending you four out to keep an eye on Aro. You will report to me as soon as you get information on where he is resisting.” Marcus dismissed the four elite guards, and they were quick to leave.

A whole two hours had passed, and you sat bored reading a magazine over parenting. Maybe you could convince your mates to adopt a dog or something. Your stomach growled for the tenth time that hour. You really were debating whether or not it would be smart to sneak out, and go to the kitchen to grab some of the leftover lasagna, but shaken off the idea of doing that. You knew if you were gone from this spot when your mates came looking for you, they would lose their shit. Demetri would straight up forget he could track you down in a matter of minutes. So you just settled for the bag of chips, and Debbie Snacks that were left in here. A picture of a toddler in a dino onesie caused you to drop the brownie that was half way in your mouth. - “Aweee. What a cutie!” you said to yourself, - “I know I am.” came the cocky remark of none other than Felix, your giant teddy bear. You quickly closed the magazine, and placed it under your butt so neither of them would see it. All four of your loves stood by the door, smiling at you.

“Damn Jane. You never told us you had this whole dope ass hidden room in the back of your closet.” Felix commented, looking around the room in amazement. He sat right next to you, and kicked his feet up on the small coffee table. He swung his arm around your smaller frame, and pulled you in. You smiled up at him, and kissed his cheek.

“Oh, I didn’t? Let me see why...oh! Because it was none of your business.” Jane responded, sticking up her finger at him. Laughter filled the room as everyone got comfortable. Alec took the empty spot next to you, and Jane sat in between your legs on the floor, and Demetri stood looking at the many books and magazines you had on a shelf. He was easily entertained.

“So, how was y’alls day?” you asked, placing your hand in Alec's. All four of them shared a look that caused you to feel confused.

"That bad, huh?" You joked, causing your mates to crack a smile towards you. Demetri put down the book he was examining and looked at you.

"We have a mission next week, caro mio." he answered. Your smile fell as you sighed. Everytime Aro sent them on a mission, they ended up gone for weeks. You hated not being able to feel their touch, hear their voices, and not be around them.

Jane saw your change in behavior and spoke up, "But we won't be gone for too long. We just need to find someone and report their location, then come report it to master Marcus."

"Marcus is setting up missions now?" You asked, surprised by this information.

"Well...yeah." Jane answered hesitantly. Narrowing your eyes, you looked at each one of them.

"Who exactly do you have to track for Marcus?" You asked.

They all share one last look, before eyeing you down. Felix pulled you in a little closer.

   "Aro."
