Your POV

As the whole school listen to the memorial of the now deceased prince Clovis, I couldn't help but wonder why the Britannian army is just putting the blame on Suzaku seeing that he got shot, there couldn't be any evidence that they were not capable of doing a full investigation of this. My guess is they have no leads and to make sure the public doesn't see them incompetent they place the blame on him. This is one of the reasons I truly loathe the Britannian military, they're not doing their job correctly, they're just a bunch of idiots who see themselves as the law.

'Disgusting and a waste of tax money.' I remain quiet until the end of the ceremony when the emperor himself came and gave a small speech for his son. I felt my blood boil from how cruel he was to take many women as a wife and have fifteen children who he never took the time to love them.

'He's the reason for starting this war, the reason my parents are dead was because of his hunger for power.' As we were dismissed and had the whole day off Lelouch and I made our way out together.

"Oh (Y/n) do want to join us for some shopping?" Sheryl asked as I smiled.

"Sorry, but I want to get some studying done and I wanted to learn some cooking from Saeko. She made this good dish and I wanted to learn how to do it too." She whined seeing that I never want to hang out with her.

"I promise next time I'll go with you okay," I said as she smiled.

"That's a promise I'm keeping to you, so better not break it." She said as I nodded.

"Yes I know just give me a heads up so I don't plan anything that day," she nodded as I made my way home. Lelouch was waiting for me and so I caught up to him.

"Listen I have to do something so I'm not going to make it for dinner," he said as I looked at him a bit surprised.

"Alright just don't stay up late we have school tomorrow and I don't want you skipping, got it?"

"Yes ma'am," he said as we walk back to our living area. I nodded as we went our separate ways. I know he wants to keep Nunnally safe from this cruel world but the price may be too much for him to handle, but when that time comes I'll make sure to be there to help him.

'Be careful Lelouch.'

Nunnally POV

As I finished my studies for the day with Saeko I heard the door open. By the sound of their footsteps, I could tell it was big sister that came inside.

"Welcome back (Y/n)," I greeted her as I could feel her kindness.

"Hey Nana," she called out and I waited to hear if Lelouch was with her.

"So how was today?" I asked as she sigh and by the sound of it she was tired.

"I feel sick and disgusting that I had to attend a funeral for that pompous prince. No offense Nana but if he weren't your half brother I would have personally killed him for killing many innocent lives." She sounded a bit angry and I guess she just didn't care about Clovis. I understand that what he did was wrong but I believe that all the royal family are like due to our father's teachings.

"And Lelouch?" She seem to sigh and patted my head.

"He went off to gamble with some opponent, I told him if he wanted me to go with him but he said that you would be lonely if we both went. So here I am with a Lelouch that is nowhere to be seen," she said as I giggled hearing how worried she gets for my brother.

"I'm sure he's safe and knowing my brother he'll come back safely too," she sigh and I could feel she was stressed.

"I swear Lelouch is like a cat, one that comes back like when he gets hungry," she said as I try not to giggle at how she compared my brother to a cat.

"I wonder what he would look like as a cat?"

"One day when you can see again we'll dress him up as a cat and take pictures so you will never forget." I reached out to grab her from where she was at. Until she grabbed my hand and squeeze it to let me know she was there.

"I wish we could stay together to the very end," I said as she place her other hand on top of mine.

"I promise I won't leave your side until I die, and I'm sure once we graduate I'll work hard to keep you guys safe." I smiled and place my other hand on hers too.

"Miss (Y/n) shall I serve your dinner on time or will you be waiting for Master Lelouch?" Saeko asked as I also wonder if big brother will be joining us.

"No it'll just be us, he said he'll be home late so why don't you join us for dinner?" Big sister asked as I knew Saeko is part of our family too.

"Very well I shall start making preparations for dinner." She said as she walked into the kitchen.

"Can I help?"

"If you wish miss (Y/n) I would appreciate it," Saeko said as I felt her gaze.

"I'll be right back Nana I'm just going to help Saeko," she said in a soft tone.

"Don't worry I'll wait here and make papers cranes while I wait." She patted my head before heading to the kitchen.

'I wish big brother could have joined us for dinner.'

Your POV

As I help Saeko make dinner, tonight's dinner is hamburger steak, which is by far the best when Saeko makes it. As I observed every movement she made to make it and took notes at the same time.

"You seem to enjoy cooking miss do you plan to get married someday? Or perhaps you and Master Lelouchare planning to marry after graduation? " Saeko asked making me blush.

"What?! No, I just want to learn in case we leave and I know you won't always be there for us once we graduate. So I'm learning everything I can so that way I'm prepared to take care of both Lelouch and Nunnally." As I said that I felt her hug me in a motherly kind of way.

"You have such a kind heart, always putting others first before you and trying to make they're safe. Yet I also worry that you'll never truly be happy unless you pursue your desires." When Saeko said that I could tell she knows this from experience from her past. Even though I'm only half-breed I was able to hide my identity and my family name to keep myself from getting killed. The price of keeping such a secret meant not being able to be honest with many people.

"I understand but eventually I'll be able to pursue it once I know they're safe from Britannian grasp." She nodded and we look in the direction where Nunnally was waiting for us.

'To keep them safe we'll do whatever we can to keep them away from the truth. Even if it means staining our hand with blood.'

Finally I got to update this book! As you may know I've been busy and I had some chapters ready but they weren't edited so I'm happy that I got today to get the chance to upload this chapter I'll try update soon but thank you all for having so much patience on me.
