"Who do these jerks think they are?!" Val said,

"Princess?" Prince Calub said right before he got stopped by Val

"Which princess genius?" Val said as she rolled her eyes

"Princess Jeannette?"

"You're up," Val said as she got up and excused herself to use the facilities.

"Wait Va-" I was saying before prince Calub smiled at me

"So you're Princess Jeannette?" Prince Calub questioned,

"Mhm, that's me" I replied,

"You look a bit familiar, have we met before?" Prince Calub asked,

"I do?" I questioned, lifting up my head to look up at him.

He smiled and nodded his head,

"Prince Calub!" His mother called,

"Princess Jeannette" My tia also called,

"Looks like I'll see you tomorrow at the ball, Prince Calub" I said, about to leave,

"See you then, Princess" Calub said,

"Come on we have to go to our studies, Ms. Roselia said there would be 'severe consequences if we're late again," said Val as she dragged me toward the library. "So what dresses would be the least uncomfortable to wear to that stupid ball?" Va said as she flipped through "The Great History of Sol"

"Your mother had said it had to be black and gold" I said,

"For once I agree with my mother, so when do the Shadows take over, when's the apocalypse coming?" Val said as she pulled another copy of "The Great History of Sol out and plopped it onto my lap.

"He doesn't seem that bad does he?" I questioned,

"Who? The guy who attacked Sol 100 years ago?" Val said as she read about the battle of Power

" No! I meant the Prince, Prince Calub"I said,

"Oh, I guess. Though I think you're forgetting something. If you get involved with him, you give up the Mendez side of the throne." Val said as she opened up my book to the same chapter as hers.

"Ah.. Father's throne.." I thought,

"Hey, what do you think's for dinner tonight?" Val said as she continued to read her book.

"I don't know, I don't really care"I responded flipping through the book

"Okay... how about we change the subject that seems to have put you in a mood, what dresses do we wear to the ball? Whatever it is, I'm wearing pants underneath."

"Mother said she's gonna check our dresses before the ball," I said, "Have you ever seen Prince Calub actually kill anything from the Shadows..?" I questioned,

"No, as far as I know they don't kill them, they just keep them at bay, they probably don't even know how to kill them." Val said as she got out a book "See, they're all using physical combat, weapons, on these things. They're SHADOWS, those things will just stop them, not hurt them. They just keep them out till sunlight then they retreat." as Val shut the book she glared at me "They don't have a clue on how to actually defeat these things. Now come on, let's get ready for bed." Val said as she put down her history book.
