Chapter 1: Reconsiliation
Regina's POV
"Regina, you have to forgive them. I don't think you're a monster. You have to show them you've changed." Robin whispered wrapping his arms around my waist and kissing my neck. I giggled with a smile. "I'm so happy I went in that tavern and met you." I whispered kissing his cheek. "Are you ready to forgive them?" He asked pulling away, making me face the mirror. "I... I don't know, Robin. Somehow I think I over-reacted and made her life a living hell for such a small thing. I'm nervous that if I ask forgiveness now, she'll say it's to late and shun me." I replied leaning on Robin. "Do you know what it is I see, Regina?" He asked as we looked at our reflection in the long mirror. I shook my head smiling. "I see a beautiful queen who can learn to become a hero, a mother, and has the most beautiful eyes that if you could just see through the darkness, she has light that can brighten the whole room. And I'm not letting anyone snuff out that light. Don't be nervous, love. I'll be there with you if they don't accept your apology then we can run away together." He replied smiling at our reflection. "I love you so much." I whispered as he rest his head on my shoulder. "I love you too." He whispered kissing my cheek.
We heard our door creak open and turned to see Roland pop his head in. "Daaaaaaad." Roland called as he came running towards us. "Yes?" Robin asked as Roland joined us in front of the mirror. "There's a strange man outside asking for mum." Roland replied with a frightened expression. My heart skipped a beat at Roland calling me mum. It's been three months since he started calling me that and I couldn't help but feel giddy inside.
"Mum?" Roland asked as I looked at he mirror and smiled at him. "It's just an old aquintance, dear." I replied petting Roland's hair. "Acaintanth?" Roland asked with a cute little frown. I chuckled pulling away from the hug and stooping to his level. "Someone I knew from a long, long time ago." I explained kissing the crease between his eyebrows.
"I'll go with you." Robin offered carrying Roland. I frowned wondering what Rumple would be doing here this late. "Smile." Robin whispered with a smile and lacing his hand in mine. I smiled at our hands as Roland giggled. I looked at Roland and smiled. He's such an adorable kid. "I told him to wait outside." Daddy said smiling at us as we reached the bottom of the stairs. "Thank you daddy, may you please take Roland to the kitchen. I'm sure he's hungry." I said hugging Daddy. "Very well, come on Roland." Daddy said taking Roland from Robin. "Come back after!" Roland hollered waving at us with his cute little hands.
"He's grown fond of you." Robin pointed out with a smile as we walked towards the door to find Rumplestiltskin smiling at us. "What do you want, Dark One?" Robin asked glaring. "I'm here to say my apologies, dearie." He replied as Belle appeared behind him. "The Dark One, apologizing? What changed?" I asked smirking. "Don't push him, Regina." Belle threatened. "Forgive me." I apologized blushing as Robin smirked at me. "As I was saying, dearie. I am apologizing for everything I've done to you. I've turned you into a monster you shouldn't have been. As a token of my asking forgiveness, I give you this, drink this and it will reverse the effects of the potion you made to make yourself barren." Rumple replied poofing a potion from his hand. I raised a brow, doubting. "How do I know you're not asking for anything in return, Rumple?" I asked hesitating to take the bottle. "I've been trying to change for Belle starting with those people, as they say, screwed over." He replied looking at Belle lovingly. I smiled and took the bottle. The Dark One is sincere this time. My mentor finally found his happiness. "Thank you, Rumple. I accept your aplogy." I replied smiling. "See you around, dearie. You've always been my brightest pupil." Rumple said with a grin as he took a step back; locked his arm with Belle and poofed them away. I smiled feeling proud of his last sentence. I closed the door and sighed.
Robin cupped my cheeks with both hands and gently forced my chin up with his left hand so we would look each other in the eye. "Why did he give you such a potion?" Robin asked worriedly. I smiled sadly at him and cupped his cheek. "My mother found about what the fairy told me about my second chance in true love and found it was you. She made a man to disguise as you and lied just to get me to do what she wants," I paused closing my eyes at the memory. I truly hated my mother then, she was a vile, evil woman, but she was my mother. "What happened next?" Robin cooed caressing my cheeks. I frowned and continued. "I vowed to never have children because it is what she wanted. I didn't want to be a pawn. I wanted to cause her so much pain so I drank a potion I made to make myself barren." I replied ashamed. Robin caressed my cheek and kissed my forehead.
"I love you no matter what was in your past. It's in your past, not your future." Robin said kissing my eyelids. "Open your eyes, I want to see those beautiful orbs." Robin whispered planting a chaste kiss on my lips. I slowly opened my eyes and smiled lovingly at him. "Let's check on Roland one last time before we go see the Charmings. Can't be late for your daughter's own wedding can you?" Robin teased making me giggle. He laced his hand in mine and we walked towards the kitchen in comfortable silence. Roland immediately saw us coming and jumped off the stool he was sitting on. "Careful Roland! We don't want you to break your nose again!" Daddy chased as Roland ran towards us. He slowed down when he neared us and hugged my dress. Robin picked him up and carried him in his strong arms. We smiled at each other then we kissed Roland's cheeks. "I'm sleepy." Roland said with a yawn. "I'll put him in bed. You two go to Snow White and Charming. There's food when you both come back. It's Roland's favorite." Daddy offered wiping his hands on the hand towel on the handle of the oven.
I smiled back as Robin gave Roland to Daddy. "Thank you, sir. Roland, behave, okay? We'll see you later." Robin said kissing Roland's forehead. Roland giggled then yawned before reaching for me. I smiled and walked towards him to have my cheek kissed. "Goonit, mum. Come home as fast as you can." He whispered with a yawn. I grinned and kissed his forehead. "Will do as long as you sleep early." I replied petting his head one last time. "Goodnight, daddy." I whispered kissing Daddy's cheek. He smiled in return and waved before walking out of the kitchen.
Robin quickly lead me back to our room and I changed my clothes. "Is what I'm wearing alright? They're getting married, I want to look good." I asked worriedly looking at myself in the mirror. I was wearing a long red dress with ruffles surrounding the ends of the long sleeves and a lace pattern at the back. "Love, you look gorgeous, but shouldn't you be wearing something a little more light?" Robin asked wrapping his arms around my waist. "Oh my, you're right, but what color?" I asked nervously scratching the top of my hand. "White. Wear white." Robin whispered kissing my neck and holding my hand to stop myself from scratching. I smiled snapping my thumb and middle fingers together to change the color of my dress with magic. "Will this be alright?" I asked looking up to meet Robin's eye in the mirror.. "Stunning, but did you also have to change my clothes?" He asked looking at his clothing funny. I giggled kissing his cheek. "We're really late." I pointed out planting a chaste kiss on his lips. He bit my lip and smiled. "I'm so happy we found each other." I whispered pulling away. "Agreed, now, let's get to your daughter's wedding." He whispered as he took my hand in his and kissed the top of my hand. "Ready to apologize?" He asked giving my hand a reassuring squeeze. I nodded and I poofed us to Snow's wedding.
Robin and I landed inside the hall with the door behind our backs. We we're facing the wedding and two guards noticed our arrival. "Sorry I'm late." I said with a smile as the two guards came at us, but I pushed them away with a flick of my hand. "It's the Evil Queen! Run!" One of the soldiers yelled. I held my ground and didn't allow to let any emotion come across my face. I'm really hurt that they still think of my like that, but I guess, I do deserve it. "I told you this was I bad idea." I whispered as Robin wrapped an arm around my torso reassuringly. "You just have to prove that you've changed and we'll be back home." Robin whispered in my ear as we walked towards Charming and Snow.
"She's not the queen anymore. She's nothing more than an evil witch." Snow said with hate and drawing her sword. I felt Robin tighten his hood around me and glare at Snow. "Watch your tongue, Snow." Robin said with venom in his voice. "Calm down, I'll handle this." I whispered keeping my eyes on the couple. "One more insult from either of them, I might just not control my anger." Robin whispered as Charming spoke. "No, no, no. Don't stoop to her level. There's no need." Charming said gently pushing down Snow's sword. Robin let out a growl as he and Charming stared at each other. "You're wasting your time. You've already lost. And I will not let you ruin this wedding." Charming continued. Robin kept their contact and softly squeezed my side. "Go." He whispered as I took in a deep breath. I smiled at them and stood tall. "Oh, I haven't come here to ruin anything. On the contrary, dear, I've come to give you a gift and... and ask for your forgiveness." I replied nervously hoping they didn't notice my voice crack.
Everyone in the room gasped. They were skeptic and frightened and I couldn't blame them. I do deserve their reaction. "Forgiveness... you say? We want nothing from you." Snow replied with a frown. I continued to smile remembering the strong-willed girl I saved. She's grown into a fine woman indeed. "But you shall have it... Snow, I've made bad decisions in my life turning me into the monster I once was, but now, I am trying to make amends with those I've wronged in the past." I turned my gaze to the assembly before me. "I'm asking forgiveness to all of you. I have wronged you all in so many ways and to prove that I am sincerely asking an apology to all of you, I give you, Snow White and Charming. King and Queen of the Southern kingdom. I will give you all back half of those you've lost. And I'm truly sorry if I've taken someone from you. I can't bring them back, but I promise all of you that I will never ever again torment you." I announced waiting for the rejection. However, the contrary was given to me. The people's frightened expressions and silence turned to smiles and loud horas.
I smiled in relief. "You've forgotten to give something important, love." Robin remind as I blushed and turned to look back at Snow and Charming. "And this is something I personally made for you, Charmings," I poofed a small blue felt box with a ring inside. "This is for your child. Give this to her and she will always find home." I said feeling Robin pull away and giving me a light push. I walked towards Snow and Charming. They looked suspicious, but Snow gave her hand out to receive the small gift. I smiled and hand her the box. She smiled brightly and gripped my hand between hers. She then pulled me in for a heart-warming hug. "I forgive you, Regina. You have no idea how long I have waited for this day." She said letting her voice crack. "It's been so long since I last saw you smile. I missed it." I said hugging her tightly. I heard her sniff and bury her head in the crook of my neck. I smiled wider and kissed the top of her head. "I give my blessing to both of you. And to this kingdom for it to prosper and thrive." I said pulling away and snapped my fingers to beautify the room.
Everyone oooooed and ahhhhhed as we watched the hall become more grand and beautiful with glitter and sparkle. And of course, I couldn't let the the sorry excuse for wedding attire go so I changed Snow's and Charming's battle gear to a beautiful white lace gown and white tuxedo. "Thank you, truly. I am sorry for treating both of you with hostility earlier. I didn't know what to expect from the tow of you especially Regina." Charming said with a smile. "You're welcome, Charmings." I replied allowing Robin to wrap his arm securely around my torso and reply to Charming. "It's alright. Knowing Regina before would've solicited the same reaction from me." Robin teased as I slapped his chest. "I'll let you sleep in room across the castle if you continue to tease me." I replied playfully glaring at Robin.
"You found him?!" Snow asked with a shocked expression. "I did and I didn't chicken out this time." I replied honestly. We watched Snow burst into tears of joy as she enveloped both of us in a hug. "I am so happy for you." Snow whispered as I smiled proudly at her. "And I am so proud of you. You'll make a very bright queen with your husband by your side." I whispered petting her head as she pulled away. Robin laid his head on my shoulder as Charming walked towards us to get his wife. "We'll see you around, won't we?" Charming asked as Robin and I shared a look. "We thought you'd never ask." Robin replied for the both of us. "Have fun today and run your kingdom tomorrow. We'll make up for lost time soon, Snow. See you around." I added as we waved and walked towards the doors. "I'm proud of you." Robin whispered hugging me tighter. Robin wrapped his arm around my shoulder and intertwined our fingers as we watched from afar.
"Wasn't that nice to watch?" Robin asked kissing my cheek. I smiled leaning into him. "I feel like a big burden was taken off my chest." I replied happily watching Snow's people sing and dance. "That's what having no anger or hatred does to you." Robin replied kissing my temple and caressing the top of my hand. "Regina! Wait!" Snow hollered running towards us. Robin and I waited for Snow to reach us. "Thank you, for everything. You made me into the woman I am today and I couldn't be more thankful for that. I know it's awkward calling you mom or mother at this point in time, but I don't feel like calling you Regina is good for me... Can I call you mum? I just... I really missed calling you that." Snow rambled biting her lip. I chuckled smiling at her. "Snow, you can call me anything you want." I replied as Snow met my eyes and smiled happily. "I also want you to be here when my baby comes. I want her to know who her grandmother is and... I want to be able to visit you more than you visit us." She added with a smile. I smiled back and pulled away from Robin for a bit. "I would like that." I replied hugging her tightly. "Even if I was just your step mother." I continued as Snow hugged me tightly. "Goodbye, Regina. We'll come visit soon!" Snow said pulling away and waving before walking back towards her crowd. I smiled as we waved goodbye as well. I snapped my fingers and poofed us back to our castle.
As soon we appeared in front of the throne room facing the Thorne, we heard Roland gasp and run towards us. Robin pulled away from me and kneeled to catch Roland. "How did it gooooooo?" Rolan asked as Robin caught him and lifted him into the air. "I thought you went to sleep?" Robin asked as we both kissed Roland's cheeks. "I let grandpa sleep. I waited up to see you both." Roland replied with a cute yawn. "Best if we all sleep." Robin said kissing Roland's head as we walked up the stairs. We walked towards Roland's room first and I watched Robin lay Roland on his bed. "Mum?" Roland asked reaching for me. I smiled leaning down and kissing his nose. "I love you. I love father too. Goodnight." Roland whispered hugging his bear doll.
I blushed petting his head. "I love you too, Roland, so much." I whispered kissing his cheek and standing up to see Robin smiling at me. I blushed as he laced our hands and we quietly walked out of Roland's room. We walked towards our room and changed into our night wear. "Regina?" Robin asked as I got in bed. "Hmm?" I asked leaning on his chest. "We've been like this for a year and a half and I want to make our relationship known throughout the land. You're the most beautiful woman I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I do not care about your past, but we shall make a future together... Will you do me the honor of being my wife?" He asked showing me a silver ring in a small felt box. "Where did you get this!?" I asked feeling tears fall down my face. "Let's just say I stole it from a witch in Oz." He replied smirking. I smiled kissing him deeply. He smiled through the kiss and slowly pulled away to get a breath of air. "Yes, Robin. I would love to marry you." I whispered as he slipped the finger on my finger. "Goodnight, my love." He whispered kissing my temple. "Goodnight, my thief." I whispered closing my eyes and falling into an amazing sleep.
