"Gene," you ask, "are you OK?"

Gene forces a smile, you still see the fear, the unending fear in his eyes.

"Man," he replies, "even if I wasn't, it wouldn't matter, but just to indulge you, let's assume I'm not. If I wasn't, what could you do? You can't bring my brother back, and you can't bring Sour back. It wouldn't matter. Let's just move on."

Gene leads you into his castle. It's a very nice castle, all made of reflective blue crystals, the light bounces off of them like mirrors in a dazzling display one couldn't put into words if they tried.

"Before I introduce you to your allies let me explain a few things," Gene begins a rant, "you and I have the same power. I discovered it only recently, and I call it game magic. It can be used to manipulate the universe, and experts can rig the die themselves. Basically, your whole quest is up to the dice. Even after this game ends, you will still have game magic in this world Manny, just as I will. Also, I have three advisors, my first advisor will be assisting you in your quest. Your goal, is to find and destroy the soul of a man named Antihero. My advisor, Silkress, will provide you with more information. Silkress!"

A humanoid spider approaches. "Yeah Gene?" She asks. She then turns to you.

"Who's he?" She asks.

"The one," Gene replies, "you know what to do."

Gene heads deeper into his castle, you try to follow, but Silkress grabs your shoulder and shakes her head, closing her eight, beady eyes as she shakes her head. You get the impression following Gene would be unwise.

"Here's the deal," Silkress explains, "Antihero is a genocidal maniac who wishes to slay anyone stronger than your average mortal. Gene, powerful mages, everyone. To do this, he's been using a soul erasing sword. Our goal is to erase him with his own sword. He has an encampment outside of the city. I will be assisting you in any way I can. Explaining your abilities, which, long story short, you can bend reality based on the die you can summon like Gene, your race, you're what we call 'outsider' or anything else along the way. Are you ready to begin your first quest Marty?"
