ATTACK ON THE WISH MAKER
Chapter:8
Gouria woke up to find one of the maids in front of him. He gave a quick glance towards Anderios's way to see if he had woken up, but was glad when he saw his soulmate still sound asleep like a baby.
A smile invaded his face as he turned towards the maid who still stood in the room.
He stared into her eyes questioningly, wondering since when did maids started waking him up very early in the morning.
"What is so important that you could not wait until I was awake?" He whispered softly and the woman shook her head in a not so understandable manner.
She had heard him but pretended as if she hadn't.
"What?" She whispered back to him, knowing Gouria would not speak so loud as he didn’t want to wake Sir Anderios up.
Gouria groaned angrily as he got out of bed and roughly dragged the lady out of his room.
Once they were both out and farther away from Anderios, he burned his angry eyes into the woman's and yelled.
"What?!"
"I am so sorry Sir Gouria but Mia had gone into the woods behind the back to gather woods and now she's hurt!" The young woman cried.
Knowing Gouria's weakness to help those in need. The man bought her fake story just immediately without asking any further questions except.
"Where is she now?"
"Still out back!" She pointed and took to her heels.
**************
"You should have gotten help and carried her in!" Gouria rushed out as he ran behind the woman.
Once they reached the woods and walked a little farther inside it, a small whimper could be heard coming from behind a tree.
Gouria took to his heels after hearing the painful cry. He found Mia on the floor with a bleeding leg.
He crouched down on his knees and stared into the terrified girl's face.
"You will be alright, hang on to my shoulders!" Gouria instructed but Mia refused. "Do you trust me?" He asked her and she did nothing but cry silently.
"How did this happen?!" Gouria asked turning to find emptiness where Sara the maid that had brought him should have been standing. Not bothered about her because of the bleeding woman before him he directed the question to her instead. "How did this happen?!" He whispered as he pressed both his hands on the bleeding leg.
"I-It...a tra-" The woman gasped and Gouria raised his head to find an arrow pierced into the woman's chest as she gasped and choked. "Run!" She breathed out before she fell silent.
Gouria acted fast but not so fast.
Men already gathered around him, all pointing arrows at him, waiting to fire the angry thing.
Gouria looked around him, breathing heavily and trying to find anything to grab on, but found nothing.
He should have woken Anderios up.
He regretted.
His eyes wet instantly.
He didn't know who they were nor why they had come to attack him.
"Wish Maker!" Gouria recognized that voice. He saw another one of the men emerge from behind the others.
"Dan?!" His eyes narrowed at the recognition of whom his attackers were.
Athesmos's men and Dan been a friend to Kairos until that good night.
"Where is your lover now?!" Dan laughed without emotions.
"Back away from me all of you!" Gouria yelled his warnings.
"We are quivering out of fear great one!" Dan mocked and the others laughed loudly. "You and I know you can't do anything!" Dan gave him a stern glare.
Gouria's heart stopped.
Dan knew.
They all knew he could never harm a life.
"No!" He whispered.
"Yes!" Dan yelled back at him and then ordered that they fired at him.
*************
Anderios flung his left arm to the side in hopes to find his lover right next to him but jumped awake instead as the realization of the man not there cut him deep as a knife.
Gouria does not sleep any better than he did.
They pretty much enjoyed their morning sleeps unless they were urgent matters that required them.
Anderios got up and ran out of his room almost stumbling into a maid who was minding her own business folding sheets.
"Where is Gouria?!" He asked the lady but she looked at him confused.
Having not seen her other master all morning. "I have no idea, I haven't seen him." She answered honestly.
Anderios pulled at his hair, cursing loudly as he reached first for his sword and next he was out the front door.
He ran back inside as if forgotten something and then decided to go from behind the house, heading into the woods.
He didn't know why he had to do that but having a strong pull to run the direction of the woods was too intense he could not ignore it.
Knowing fully well that if Gouria was to be in grave danger, his lover would do anything to pull him towards him.
A painful yowl filled the air as Anderios got deeper into the woods, he sprinted towards the sound of that cry and as he neared it the cry got louder.
He spotted men, gathered around a weeping man on his knees who was bleeding profusely from both hands.
Anderios hissed when they fired another shot to the many already on the man's hands.
He did not have to think any deeper to know who the receiver was.
He counted all men and got about ten of them.
"Gouria?" He whispered in hopes that he heard him.
Gouria did hear him and very gently turned to find the other man hiding unnoticed a few feet away.
"Grant my wishes Ria!"
Gouria returned his gaze to the grounds as his eyes sparked so no one sees.
Anderios sneaked behind on man and slits his neck, the others noticed and abandoned Gouria to attack the man instead.
It didn't take long before Anderios had killed all nine men, missing only one that had long escaped since he killed the first man.
Anderios ran to his collapsed lover.
Having no idea what to do or how to begin.
His heart hammering in his chest at the thoughts of losing his lover yet again.
"Are you going to be alright?!" Anderios voice shook as he spoke.
Gouria smiled despite himself and Anderios smiled back at him before pressing their lips together and as they kissed he pulled at the arrow sticks one at a time until he had removed all of them.
Gouria moaned as his hands burnt but his strength filling and his body healing.
Anderios pulled away and burned lust-filled eyes into his flushed lovers face.
"Glad to have you back!" He chuckled bringing Gouria to laugh as well. "Next time call me before you leave my side." Anderios carried the man and walked out of the woods.
Gouria had understood what his mother had meant when she had told him of how his soulmate would complete him.
Gouria smiled at his hands as what was left on his body were just fading scars.
*************
"You did what?!" Athesmos yelled angrily at Dan.
"I ran!" Dan answered in the same tone as his Master's. "What should I have done?!"
"Kill Gouria when he was distracted fighting your men, you idiot!" Athesmos banged his hand on the table before him.
Why were all his men so pathetic?!
Could this be his own curse?
To have foolish men!
Dan stood with shame-filled eyes as regrets flooded him.
"Why didn't he remember to do that?!"
He had just about the perfect opportunity to strike the man dead as he kneeled.
But he didn't because that was the only wish Anderios had made.
That they ignore his lover until he had killed every man.
And since Dan had run before the last of his men died.
He missed death by just this much.
"Next time let me do the planning!" Atlas spoke as she entered the hall.
"You're no better than I am," Athesmos replied roughly, feeling insulted by her.
"This is Gouria we are after, and getting him is impossible!" Atlas told him.
"How do we kill him then?" Athesmos was losing patience.
"He may have been your cousin and you may have lived with him for years but you know nothing of the man, do you?!" Atlas narrowed her eyes at Athesmos.
"You're right, If Gaad had not told us about his weakness to kill, I would not have known. All we need to do is get him alone again but this time there would be no more sports!" He yelled directly at Dan.
The time they should have used to kill the man, they had foolishly spent practicing their abilities at archery.
"You won't find him alone after this time." Atlas smiled deviously as she stared at Athesmos. "But I have another way to get him to be alone."
"What way?" Athesmos asked giving her a stern look.
"I will use the one which even Anderios can never ignore."
"Who?"
"The princess!"
They both smiled.
