Chapter 16
I'm feeling so not motivated or inspired to write... sighhhh....
Lucifer's POV:
"Are you alright?" I finally caved and decided to ask after seeing Kai hunched over in groans while rubbing his head in pain for the 10th time throughout the past 2 weeks. He finally gave in to training the guys once again just a week before. It was no joke, trying to convince him to train them again. I swear it's harder than trying to make him eat when he first came here.
"I'm fine. Their damn sissiness keeps giving me headaches." He groaned out before regaining his previously strict posture but glared at the scene before his very eyes. "Oi! Are you guys turtles or what?! I bet a turtle can even crawl faster than you jump!" He spat out irritatedly before groaning deeply once again as he cradled his head in his hands. That's it. I'm bringing him to see Doctor White.
"All of you, continue until 10 sets are done. Don't bother cheating at I have cameras installed." I ordered authoritatively, causing low growls of dissatisfaction and unwillingness to ring out in the air. After a moment or two of grumbling, they gritted their teeth before continuing to hop up the stairs with hands behind their backs. At least they know not to talk back to me.
"Let's go." Wasting no time at all, I pulled Kai up by his arm, dragging his complaining and grouchy ass along with me from the training grounds all the way to right outside the infirmary.
"What the hell was that for Satan. I can walk on my own you know." He grumbled out, obviously not in the best of moods.
Did he just call me Satan? Shit. His head is really messed up. "It's Lucifer, not Satan."
"They're the same anyway. Satan suits your domineering, hard-ass character more than Lucifer." Okay. His head is fine but not his attitude. Ignoring the extreme sour look of displeasure on his face, I knocked twice on the wooden door before entering.
"Morning my son. What can I do for you today?" Doctor White greeted cheerfully as he spun around on his chair to face us.
"Can you check on Kai? He's been getting headaches on and off quite frequently."
"Of course. Please take a seat over here, Kai. Make yourself comfortable wherever you want, son." Kai obeyed him quietly, taking a seat on the hard plastic chair placed beside White's desk while I made myself comfortable on one of the beds.
"Okay, I'm going to need you to answer my questions truthfully as it may be linked to your memories. Can you do that?" Giving Doctor White a small nod, he smiled back at Kai before taking out his clipboard and going through his writings which I can never make out what they are. Doctors' handwriting. The only handwriting teachers fear. They can't be read at all!
"How frequent are your headaches and to what extend from 1 to 10 is the pain? 1 being the least, 10 being the most."
"It's on and off so I can't really give you an exact number. 2 time per day I guess...um... 6... 7-ish?" He replied unsurely as White quickly jotted down some notes before asking the next question.
"Do you see or hear anything, maybe even have any flashbacks when you had those headaches?" Doctor White pressed further in as Kai thought deeply about his words.
"On most occasions, I only see darkness but I may have saw a faint male figure once or twice before." Kai's honest words sent my mind into a frenzy as I fought to keep up my calm exterior. Shit... if this keeps up, he may be regaining his memories at a much faster rate than what White had predicted.
"Can you describe the male figure to me?" White questioned with slight warriness in his tone but was gone unnoticed by Kai.
"It blurry and faint... but he seems muscular and taller than 170cm. Around 180 I guess."
"How did you feel when you saw the figure?"
"Mainly confused. But he didn't feel like a threat. At least that's how it feel to me." Fear gripped my heart as it hammered hard against my ribcage. Catching the side glance White gave me, I gave him a faint nod before motioning him to turn back to Kai.
"I see. Do you have anymore pains other than your head?" Kai shook his head no, making White nod understandingly before grabbing a small round cylindrical container with pills in it from his shelves. "Take two pills each time you get a headache. It'll help to lessen your pain. If the pain gets worse, make sure to come back to me as it may be due to unforeseen factors."
"Thank you." He nodded at White's words before taking the container and putting it into his combat short's pocket.
'You're very much welcome, Kai. Lucifer... may I talk to you outside?"
"Su-"
*knock knock knock knock knock* Rapid knocks sounded from behind the door as we turned our heads towards it.
"This is an emergency King Merci!" A frantic voice sounded as I opened the door swiftly to see one of my messengers.
"What is it?"
"We've received an urgent letter from Queen Clover, requesting for emergency backup. The Land of Greed is planning an attack on them and they are currently overpowered by the huge number of their troops. Queen Clover is desperate for backup as almost half of her army was sent to the Land of Nature to help out in some relief and construction works and wouldn't be able to be back on time to help fight the enemies off." He spot his words out quickly as I quickly processed his words.
"When will the Land of Greed be attacking?"
"Sundown." That's in 9 hours time and the time we'll need to travel from here to there is at least 7 hours by plane!
"I'll go." A cool and calm voice rang out as three pair of eyes landed on an extremely relaxed Kai.
"Are you sure, Kai?" I questioned hesitantly and slightly unwillingly. I'm not sure if I should let him go after all his headaches. What if it affects him during the battle?
"Absolutely." He answered with eyes filled with much seriousness and determination. Sigh... he's going to be the death of me one day.
Turning to the messenger, I waved him away to get ready the plane which he immediately rushed off to do so. "Then you'll be taking the troop 1 and 2 with you. Also, promise me that you'll come back alive."
"No. I'll be taking troop 3 and 4." He insisted, making me frown in confusion. 3? The bend-the-dick group? Is he serious? "Do not question my decisions. I have my reasons. Just get ready to strip a few soldiers off their ranks when we get back. At least I hope there won't be any." He sighed deeply before standing up and cracking his stiff neck and back and yes, I gave him the authority to strip any one of them off their positions if they are to deserve it. He knows best when it comes to their characters.
"..Fine. I'll let you bring any troop you want but promise that you'll come back with them alive."
"Don't worry. I'll be back with all of them alive. I'm not that easy to kill if that's what you're afraid off, Satan. You'll kick my ass from hell back onto earth anyway right?" He said jokingly with a playful grin, making me smirk at his antics.
"You can count me on that. Ain't going to let an angel like you taint my world with your pureness." Staring at his soft features for a while, I opened my arms to him as he stared at me weirdly.
"What are you trying to do?" He stared at me skeptically as he walked slowly towards my direction.
"Give you a hug?"
"What's a hug?" He questioned innocently, making me smack myself internally. I forgot he's not used to receiving affections...
"I'll explain it to you when you come back. For now, take it as a good luck charm." Nodding slightly, I walked towards him slowly before wrapping my arms around his smaller frame gently yet firmly, burrowing my face into the crook of his neck as I breathed in his sweet smell of mango and peach, the smell of his body wash that he always uses.
Feeling his body slacken in my grasp, I held onto him even tighter as he rested his head against my chest, his heart beating fast against his chest and mine as he peered up to look at me through his long lashes. Did I ever say how beautiful he looks? Cuz damn. He's smoking hot.
"Lucifer?"
"Yes Kitten?" He scowled at the nickname I gave him, a cute pout forming on his lips.
"Kitten? I'm not a cat."
"It's just a nickname Kai." He stared at me confusingly before nodding nonetheless.
"Nickname... I see... um... I should be getting ready now you know?" He simply said before stepping out of my embrace.
"Way to spoil the mood..." I grumbled under my breath as he asked me what I was saying. "Nothing and yes. I'll go and call the guys to meet you in the main hall in 10. Can?" I said with a slightly evil grin on my face as he got the hint.
"Definitely." He grinned back mischievously before dashing off.
"You do know that I'm still here and you're still in my office right?" White spoke up after a while as I turned towards him to see him spinning on his chair.
"Definitely. Just needed some witness."
"Smart kid. By the way, keep a lookout on Kai. I don't know for sure how he'll be affected if his memories ever return."
"Will do. Thanks Doc."
"You're welcome my son. By the way, is your mum avail?" He asked with a interested look on his face, making me grimace at the thought.
"Even if she is, You're too old for her. Pedo."
"Hey hey hey. Don't have to call me that. I'm was just joking. You seemed stressed." He bellowed out loudly as I rolled my eyes at his antics.
"You can blame that all on him." He raise his brow at my words knowingly before shrugging lightly.
"You asked for a challenging one and there you get."
"What makes you think that he's the one? I don't even know if I'm gay or bi or straight." It's true. I've never dated anyone before. I've gone out on a date or two with some girls when I was younger but we never clicked or have I ever feel a spark with them.
"Oh I know everything. Living for 69 years is more than enough to let me know many things."
"You think so?"
"I betting my stash of oreos on it that I'm right."
"Eat too much and you're going to get diabetes."
"Indulge too much in him and you'll get it first."
"Ha ha. Very funny." I laughed sarcastically before rolling my eyes once again as I felt like I was missing something.
"Thanks. I try. Anyway, you've got what you asked for so treasure him." What am I missing..... Oh shit! I have to call the guys to drop in in 10! Now 5.
"I will. Anyway, last question. How did you know about what I want?"
"Your mum. She's always sharing all the juicy things with me."
"I should have known... anyway, got to go. Thanks for today."
"No problems, son."
