Graduation

Wendy finished her final touches of my braid on my hair. As well as tightening the straps of my dress so they won't be slipping down my shoulders.

"Done." She said so proudly as she admires me taking a step back, "I can't wait to be in beauty school."

I stare at myself in the reflection. I can hardly recognize myself. I look nothing like the Irene I once was.

Perfect small diamonds on both my ring fingers while the rest of my nails including my toes are a nude color. I'm wearing an off white sparkling dress that hugs my hips perfectly and define my waist while the back of the dress is long with very thin straps holding onto my shoulders. My heels are an off white as well that sparkled just as much as the dress.

My hair was in a waterfall braid with waves that looked effortlessly beautiful. My makeup was simple with a cute wing liner and fake eyelashes. Last but not least I had beautiful diamond earrings that hung long enough to level my jawline.

I turned around and admired Wendy as well. She looked beautiful. She had a long red lace backless dress with long sleeves which hugged her hips that matched her red tips from the ends of her hair and the bright red lip lipstick she is wearing. Her hair is in a half up-do with big curls.

Her shoes are a bright white with a metal heel with a beautiful design of a rose blossoming from the bottom all the way to the back of her foot. Her nails are just as white as her heels with a flower diamond on both her ring fingers. She didn't have eyeshadow or eyeliner just simple long lashes. Even she took my breath away.

"You look so beautiful Wendy." I awe at her.

"Me? You look like a hollywood movie star or a princess. Both." She clapped her hands together in excitement.

"You don't think it's too much? Looks like we are going to prom." I said so nervously.

"Nope if anything we are going to a funeral." I tilt my head at her response, "because it's finally the death of high school."

I smiled big and turned my attention to Jongin's jacket behind her laid out on her bed. I'll take it with me. Walking towards it Wendy stopped me in my tracks.

"I need to give you something." She said with a nervous look. I eyed her with curiosity.

"I bought them when you didn't notice." She was holding a baby pink box with a golden design on the sides. She opened the box slightly revealing two small rings.

"I figured we need a mark of saying 'wherever you are I'm there' kinda thing." She held one ring out for me.

It's very thin but very strong. It's pure gold and the band has a rose design with small thorns. On the rose it had one simple letter, W.

"Mine has an I and we wear them on our right hand on the middle finger."

"Why is that." I smile so big at her slipping it on exactly as she said where I should.

"Because we need to put it on our pimp hand and show bitches that we have a best friend." We both laughed together and pulled each other into a tight hug.

"Thank you Wendy, I love you."

"Love you too cherry." She said pulling away slipping on her ring.

My phone rings again and I quickly answer it.

"Hello?" silence remains on the other line. I hang up once again. Whoever it is keeps calling and doesn't say a word.

"Another random caller?" I nodded at Wendy's frustration, "well whatever ready?" She held her arm out and I linked mine with hers.

We walked down the stairs together and we could hear the awes and gasps as each step we take.

"Oh girls you look like models." Her mother said in complete awe with tears in her eyes.

I can't help but smile so big and the twins run up to both of us hugging both our legs together.

"Who knew you can clean up Wen." One of the twins said, he continued, "but Irene you look perfect." He blushed while he said that looking down at his feet.

"Irene is out of your league kid." Wendy said rubbing his head. I gave him a little peck on the top of his head his response was running away towards his mother hiding behind her.

We all laughed and giggled.

"Let's go everyone, don't want to get the back seats." Wendy's dad said. Everyone began to walk out until Wendy held onto my wrist.

"Let's take pictures together." I nodded in response smiling in every picture she takes. "You're taking that jacket?" I was confused for a second and I didn't notice that I was holding onto his jacket.

"Just in case I get cold." I said putting it on.

"I bet," she eyed me, "one last pic but this time flip off the camera showing off the ring."

I widen my eyes and shake my head, "that's rude."

"It's rude to leave me hanging." I sighed and smiled. She took one last pic of me in Jongin's jacket with both of us flipping off the camera while I make an embarrassing blushy smile and Wendy sticks out her tongue winking.

"Let's go you Rockstar." I said laughing.

"After you Superstar." We both linked our arms together leaving her house.

Everything was such a blur the only thing I remember is the principal saying our names bowing to everyone on our way off the stage. During the whole ceremony the private caller kept calling I couldn't answer but there was no point they wouldn't say anything either.

"We are done!" Wendy shouted throwing her robe in the trash.

My eyes widen slapping her arm while I laughed.

"What? We are done with prison." She then takes off my robe as well and throws it in the trash.

"Wendy no I wante-"

"Wanted it as a memory? No one wants to remember high school." I laughed as I saw teachers roll their eyes at her outburst.

"Is your family here Irene?" Her mother said in a soft tone looking around.

I shrugged, "I don't know they work a lot but I left a note on the fridge." She looked at me with a sad expression.

"As long as you all came I feel better." She hugged me tightly. I always lie to them saying they go on business trips and I like going to Wendy's house because I didn't want to be home alone.

Truth is my step mom is always home while my dad works a lot in order to afford the house and cocaine for her.

"Let's go out to eat then we will drop you off at your house." Wendy said and I nodded in agreement as I hold Jongin's jacket close. I wished you were here, mom.

Poor Irene the only thing she can really think about is her mother. Who keeps calling her? More importantly why do they keep calling her?
