The Aftermath

All over Storybrooke, Vor's evil was undone.
All those who had fallen under the sleeping curse woke up, those that had been trapped were freed, and those who had otherwise been a victim of her evil were cured of whatever affliction had befallen them.
Fairy Godmother was freed from being turned to stone and immediately rushed to find the children. Snow White and Prince Charming had found Emma and Neal and were now looking for Karayan.
With Fairy Godmother leading the fairies and the Protectors, the remainder of the villains were rounded up quickly, to be sent back to the Isle where their masters could take care of them.
While she was doing that, Merlin and Mordred reconciled. They hugged as they celebrated their victory.
"So...I guess this means we have to go back to the Isle, huh?" Mordred asked.
"It won't be forever." Merlin assured. "Just until we can fix everything."
"Don't worry." Mordred said. "Someone's gotta take care of things over there."
"And you're the perfect guy for the job."
That's when Blue appeared. "What are you doing here?!" She shouted.
Merlin hushed her. "Mordred and his crew have decided to go back to the Isle peacefully."
   "Oh." Blue said.
"Can I go too?" Cecilia asked. "I miss my dad."
"Yea and I should go too." Nico added.
"That's fine then." Blue said. "If you children will follow me."
She lifted her hand and her wand flew into it. She lead the group to the border and opened the barrier. With that, Mordred, Aithusa, Talia, Crystal, Bartok, Cecilia, holding her father's staff, and Nico went through the portal.
Mordred called from the other side, "I'll see you again soon, Merl!"
That's when Merlin suddenly remembered something else. Getting on his dragon, he rushed over to Karayan to check on him and found that he was not well. Fairy Godmother followed and Karayan's family was alerted.
Moments later, Fairy Godmother, Rose, Merlin, Snow, Charming, Emma, Neal, and Eva were crowded around the bed in Snow's castle where Karayan was resting.
"I've done all I can." Blue said, sadly.
Snow turned and sobbed into her husband's shoulder. Emma began crying as she held Neal and Eva had tears pouring down her face.
Everyone of them began to blame themselves for what happened, especially Eva, surprisingly, who said, "If this is anyone's fault, it's mine. If I hadn't have pushed him so hard, he wouldn't have done this! I was the one who showed nothing but disappointment in him."
"Is there nothing we can do?" Rose asked as she looked down at her friend and former boyfriend.
"Actually," Merlin said, "I know someone who might be able to save him. Rumplestiltskin. He has the power to do most anything."
"But he wouldn't help us." Snow said, sadly. "There's always a price with him."
Merlin shook his head. "He'd do it for me. I am his son, after all."
Everyone in the room looked up in surprise.
                           * * * * *
An hour later, with the sun finally rising over the treetops, Rumplestiltskin arrived to the castle, guards on either side of him.
Merlin met him outside the door. "Thank you for coming, dad. I really appreciate this."
Rumplestiltskin nodded. "Well...it's the least I can do for my boy."
The Charmings were crowded on one side of the bed and they all froze, uncomfortably, as Rumplestiltskin entered the room. He knelt beside Karayan's bed and examined him.
"She really did a number on him." He remarked, dryly.
"But can you heal him?" Eva asked.
"But of course! I am the Dark One, after all!"
Merlin handed his father the crystal and Rumplestiltskin took it. He let the magic flow through him as he waved the crystal over Karayan's body and, suddenly, Karayan's appearance changed back to normal, his skin regaining its glow, the red tips in his hair bleeding out, and his eyes finally opened. The beetle blue-green in his eyes vanished, leaving the regular teal blue in its place.
His family ran to hug him and that's when he sat up in surprise. "What happened?" He asked.
"What's the last thing you remember?" Merlin asked him.
"Well...it's all been a blur. The last thing I remember was being mad at you the day that you proposed to Rose. I remember going into the museum and stealing the crown but...I also remember other things... but they're still a big blur. I only remember bits and pieces. I remember doing horrible things though. Merlin, I'm so sorry. It's just...I was so jealous. You're obviously happy together and I should've realized. What I did...I proved I was no better than I thought you were."
Merlin smiled. "No apology is necessary, K. I'm just glad you're ok."
That's when Eva said, "If anything, I should be the one to apologize. I treated both of you badly. I was the one who pushed you into what you did." She said to Karayan before turning to Merlin. "And I treated you horribly. I'm sorry, Merlin."
Merlin nodded. "It's fine." He finally turned his attention to his father who was already being carted off. "Hey, dad! Thanks for everything."
"It's the least I can do, my boy. I just hope I can have another try at being your dad."
"You can. But you also have another son back on the Isle who needs his father as much as I do: Mordred."
Rumplestiltskin nodded. "I will do what I can."
"Oh and dad?" Merlin said. He handed his father the Dark One dagger. "This is rightfully yours."
Rumplestiltskin opened his arms and hugged his son. "Thank you for one last glimpse into the life I lost. Be a good king for us all. We'll be watching over you."
Then with that, the Dark One returned to the Isle of the Lost for the last time...
