Epilogue ♡
Author POV:
The wind was strong, the sky was grey, and dry wheat leafs in the big field swayed back and forth. Buttercup pulled her legs to her chest, her eyes trembled as she didn't know what to do in such an unwanted place. She felt her heart grow heavy on the fact she's once again left alone and has nobody she could reach out for.
"Hey!" A warm voice yelled out across from her. She looked up from burying her face onto her knees and everything she saw a few seconds ago changed to a warm sunny day with the sky being a baby blue color.
The tall wheat plants still swayed back and forth making it a bit difficult to see her first love.
It felt like every step he took, her heart would feel warmer. The slow foot steps began to speed up and Buttercup got up from the grass to be pulled into a comforting hug. Butch pulled back and gently pressed his forehead against hers, he closed his eyes and whispered to her, "Sorry, I'm late."
Buttercup hummed in response and flinched when she tried to place her hand on his cheek. Butch nodded and placed his hand on top of hers, feeling how soft her palm was on his cheek. They stood there admiring each other's presence and the peaceful atmosphere that developed around them.
Butch intertwined their fingers together and gave a soft kiss on her knuckles, he smiled again and decided to bring her over to the huge beautiful green apple tree that stood behind her. They both sat down onto the green grass and laid their backs onto the tree trunk.
The tree... their childhood tree.
Buttercup laid her head onto Butch's shoulder as she sat closer to him, "I thought I was going to be left alone again." She whispered, staring down at their intertwined hands that's placed on her white silky dress. Butch turned his head to place a soft kiss on the top of her head. "I wouldn't leave you, not again." He responded.
Buttercup closes her eyes, the warm temperature and slight breeze was making her sleepy. "I'm tired." She mumbled, and Butch chuckled before laying his head on top of hers.
"Then sleep, there's nobody to bother us, there's no time or day that could stop us from being in each others warmth. Sleep my love, I always be there when you wake up." He whispered to her, and Buttercup smiles... and for the first time after a long time, her smile doesn't show sadness hidden in it.
"I didn't have the chance to say it, but-" Buttercup looks up to him, "I love you."
Butch runs his hand through her black hair, and it still feels soft and silky like before.
"Me too, love."
