Author POV:

[Not Edited]

"What do you mean, 'You're going to propose next week?!'" Buttercup yelled out, throwing a pillow at Butch. "What? What do you expect me to do!? I only got a few months left until I'm going to be crown king! and everybody is coming at my neck stressing me out!" Butch groaned in annoyance.

Buttercup bit her lip and looked down to the ground. Buttercup didn't want Butch to get married, especially to somebody he didn't love. "We can... wait no..." Buttercup didn't have any ideas.

"See!, theres no point. I need to do it next week, I'll propose to her in the dinning room." Butch said, feeling a bit confident about the proposal. Buttercup nodded her head.

The room went quiet, they both stared down at the ground. They're brains having different thoughts.

Butch wasn't ready for marriage and Buttercup didn't want Butch to leave.

Buttercup knows once Butch is married, he'll change for sure. They won't be close as before.

Butch let's out a sigh and leaves the room, Buttercup sits down on the bed, putting both palms on her face. Buttercup can't seem to understand her place, she wasn't born to be royalty! She was born to protect the royalty.

Buttercup looks back up and leaves the room as well.

Buttercup rode her horse up the hills, and her green eyes might the sunset, the light hitting her perfectly. She took in a deep breathe as she felt the wind hit her face. "What am I going to do Beatrice?" Buttercup spoke to her horse, laying down her head on the horse.

"I don't want to lose my best friend." Buttercup whispered, closing her eyes as she hugged her horse.

Buttercup left when the sun had completely went down and the sky turn to a shade of dark blue. Buttercup rode back to the castle, feeling tired, but she feed her horse before leaving.

"You're not supposed to be out with your horse."

Buttercup rolled her eyes, and crossed her arms. "It's my horse." She responded.

"Don't you think it'll be a shame if the prince found out?" Mitch questioned, looking directly at Buttercup's eyes. "Why are you here?" Buttercup asked, annoyed of Mitch presences.

"I'm wondering if you know about the news." Mitch asked, "What news?" Buttercup looked curious but also worried.

"The prince is proposing in four days, they changed the date and planned on doing it sooner since his family from far away are coming to visit him and his fiancée."

Buttercup's face showed hurt. Butch didn't mentioned anything about changing dates. "Are you sure?" Buttercup didn't want to believe it.

"Positive, I heard him talking to one of the workers about it." Mitch nodded his head. Buttercup gave a weak smile, "That's great!"

Buttercup scratch the back of her neck, "Yeah..." Buttercup pointed to the door, "I'm going to head off to bed." Buttercup said, and Mitch nodded in understanding.

"Four days left? That's impossible! Was Butch's family really coming over? or did he just wants the proposal to be done with?" Buttercup told Robin, walking back and forth in the room. Robin shrugged, "Who knows? But Buttercup, it's been a few years now that you realized you're in love with him. Why can't you just tell him now? Before it's too late?"

Buttercup shook her head, "It isn't that easy. We been best friends for years now, what happens if I get rejected right away? Our friendship will be ruined! Plus we're both from different worlds. When it comes to our last names... we're nothing alike."

Buttercup frowned, and furrowed her eyebrows. Robin let out a sigh and got up from Buttercup's bed, resting his hand on Buttercup's shoulder.

"You love him, right?" He asked, "Yes."

"Then you should be happy that he's happy." He whispered, Butch wasn't happy about the marriage, but if it meant him taking his father's place then yes.

Butch slammed his head on his wooden desk, letting out a loud groan from frustration. He was furious about his family coming early! "In a week?! Seriously?" He yelled, he turn his head to the right, and saw a photo frame of him sitting on his father's lap.

"What should I do?" He asked, pleading from a response.

But of course, the photo didn't respond back.

After a few minutes there's a knock on the door and Butch thinks it might be Buttercup, but instead it's the Princess who knocks on the door.

"Come in." Butch lazily says. The Princess walks in with her hands folded and her face showing concerned. "Hey...Um.. we haven't talked much since I got here, so I was wondering if you want to take a walk with me? To get fresh air?" She asks.

Butch nods his head in saying 'yes' and gets up from his seat to grab his jacket from the hook and follow her along.

The night is full with conversations and a bit of laughter with them relating to different things. Maybe they are alike?

"I'm sorry." The Princess mutters. Butch tilts his head to the right in confusion. The Princess notice his confused glance.

"About the way I acted when we first met. My father wanted me to act as highly and girly? woman like? Princes love woman like that and my father told me to act...well different?" She said, looking down at the pond, to see her reflection.

"I'm sorry too." Butch stared at her reflection in the pond, making her look up at him. "For what?" She asked. "For walking out. I shouldn't-"

The Princess laughed, "It's fine, I'm actually thankful you did. I don't know how long I could put up the act of me acting so...ugh" She made a face of disgust and twitch at the thought. Butch laughed at her face expression.

That night seem different.

A good different.

For both of them.
