Chapter 69
Chapter 69
When Gauri saw the bright smile of her grandmother as they slowly walked through the busy town within Cassi, a faint feeling of sadness was filling within her chest. It was only then did she realize that she had taken for granted the years that she traveled with her teacher.
"Grandmother, must you always stay in Fray? Why not travel and see the world?"
"What is the point when you have no one to share these moments with?"
Hearing her grandmother's sorrowful words made Gauri feel guilty that she was about to leave her soon. Living in loneliness was worse then death.
"Well then...we should really enjoy this trip. And grandmother...once I become Queen of Mordis am I still allowed to visit Fray? Or maybe we can see the world together?"
Kalyani couldn't help but smile as her grand-daughter tightly gripped her hand.
"I would very much like that dear. Fray's door will always remain open for you."
There were so many merchants out in the street trying to still make a living in this cold weather. From selling hot tea to soup and jewelry, the entire main street was filled with people.
Kalyani has always wanted to buy her grand-daughter a gift. It seems that she had missed so many opportunities to dote on her precious Gauri.
"Do you like anything here dear? This necklace is very pretty."
Gauri has never really fancied wearing any type of jewelry but seeing how happy her grandmother looked she couldn't help but indulge her.
"Very beautiful."
"Great! I buy it for you."
After paying for the necklace Kalyani wanted to help Gauri put it on but then she noticed the shimmering pearl around her neck.
Gauri gently grabs the necklace from Kalyani's hands and smiled softly. "When I return the Frozen Heart to you I will replace it with this necklace."
Even though she felt sad Kalyani was still happy that at least Gauri will be able to live her life filled with love.
"Let's continue to shop some more. You must tell me if you like something."
Gauri let out a chuckle as they continued to look at jewelry. Once in a while Gauri would even touch a bracelet or a ring here and there just so her grandmother would feel that she was very much interested. But whenever Kalyani was about to grab the various items to pay Gauri would pull her to the next store. In the end she couldn't buy anything except for that necklace for her grand-daughter.
"Gauri...let's go back so I can buy those things for you." Kalyani complained.
"What things?"
"All the things that you touched and played with."
Gauri laughed a bit louder this time as she grabbed on to Kalyani's arm who was still pouting. "It is getting dark. We should return to the Inn to rest since we will continue to travel to Mordis in the morning."
As they slowly turned around Gauri's eyes fell upon Samarjeet and his men who was still following them. Arjun could feel the cold gaze his Princess was emitting from her eyes and quickly came closer to her side.
"Do you want me to deal with them Princess?"
"No. Just ignore them. Return to the Inn."
Seeing the purple veiled woman walking right pass him Samarjeet took in a mouthful of cold air to find courage to speak.
"Miss. Do allow me to escort you back to your Inn."
When he saw her feet stop walking his heart started to race. This woman had to be Gauri. Those beautiful eyes could not belong to anyone else but her.
"You are asking for permission now when you have been following me since the morning?"
"That voice!" Samarjeet was now convinced that the woman in front of him was Gauri. He wanted to just run up and grab her but her cold words prevented him to do so. It was embarrassing to say the least that he had been caught stalking her.
"I apologize Miss. It's just that you remind me of someone that I have been trying to find."
"Oh? And why must you find her?"
Samarjeet tried to approach Gauri but was stopped by the shiny dagger held by Arjun.
"Because I want her. I miss her. I want her to be mine. I want to tell her how much she means to me."
Hoping that his words would reach her Samarjeet stared deep into Gauri's cold eyes. "How come my words have no effect on her? Does she really not feel my sincerity?"
"I want to make her my Queen!" Samarjeet finally blurted out.
"Queen? Are you a King?" Gauri sarcastically asks.
"No...but one day I will! I am the Crown Prince of Gopar. I will give her everything."
Kalyani wanted to intervene but was pulled back by Gauri who was more than annoyed with this Prince.
Gauri let out a condescending laugh as she gradually walks towards Samarjeet.
"Unfortunately I am not the woman you are seeking."
As she turned around to leave Samarjeet took this opportunity to grab Gauri's arm.
"Gauri I know it's you! Be my woman. I will give you the title of being my Queen!"
Not so far away was a man standing on top of a building behind a tall tree. His fists were clench as he coldly stared at the man holding on to his woman's arm.
Arjun's eyes widen seeing the scene in front of him but when he took one step forward he could see Gauri shaking her head. He had no choice but to stand down.
Gauri forcefully took her arm back as she glared at Samarjeet.
"You can not afford me to be your Queen Prince Samarjeet. For your sake I would forget about that thought. I have no grievances with you so I will heed you this warning. If you continue to pursue me I will not be able to control "Him"."
"Him?! You mean the King of Mordis?!"
Just thinking about Omkara made Samarjeet burn with jealousy. If she couldn't politely accept his proposal then he was going to get her by force. Gritting his teeth as he stares at Gauri's back as she returned to her Inn, Samarjeet's eyes were now filled with vile thoughts. He was going to watch her like a hawk.
It wasn't till it was late in the night that Gauri ordered the Inn to bring her a lamb dish. The fragrant smell was seeping through the container that she had carefully packed the food in.
"Princess. Let me go with you. It is not safe."
Arjun was not happy that Gauri wanted to head out to the back of the Inn alone.
"Nala is there. I will be alright. You stay here and protect the Queen."
"Princess..."
"That's an order Arjun. When have I become so weak in your eyes?"
Arjun dared not to anger his Princess and begrudgingly obeyed.
With her white cloak Gauri headed out towards the wooded area behind the Inn. With the white snow covering the tree branches as well as the ground Gauri had to call out to Nala.
"Nala. I brought you something good."
Suddenly from out of the dark her white wolf appeared. Gauri quickly held out her hand to hug Nala's soft body.
"I wish you could be by my side Nala but then the villagers here would be too scared. But I brought you something."
As she carefully opened the box filled with meat Gauri felt someone watching her. And when Nala started to growl Gauri was sure that her intuition was right.
"I feel hurt that you did not bring me something." His deep voice resonated through the woods, leaving her to smile under her veil.
Before she could stand up she was already pulled into his warm hard chest.
"Gauri~" Her name lingered on his lips as she quickly circled her arms around his waist. She had missed him very much.
"Ari...you go play with Nala." Omkara commanded as he let his fingers pry away the inconvenient purple veil that was obstructing his view.
She could feel his warm fingers grazing along her cheeks as the veil dropped into the snow beneath their feet. But Omkara was not the only one unhappy. Gauri quickly grabbed the black lion mask that was covering Omkara's face and threw it onto the ground.
Their eyes spoke volumes as they stared at one another. His dark gazes made her heart pound like thunder. She couldn't help but let her fingers touch his face a bit longer but then he quickly grabbed both her hands.
When she saw him take out a bracelet that she had touch this morning in the market to place it around her wrist, Gauri smiled even brighter. Then he placed a ring, another bracelet, a hair pin, another ring, another bracelet.... Soon her happy smile turned into astonishment. All these items were the ones she had touched during her outing with her grandmother.
"You...."
Omkara grinned as he places these small luxuries on Gauri. "Whatever my Queen touches it belongs to her."
Gauri was left speechless as she found her lips being taken.
Tasting her petal like lips made his entire body heat up. Her warm breath only made him grab onto her soft neck to deepen the kiss. His tongue frantically chased her sweetness as his hold on her tighten. He felt her soft body crushing his ability to control his desires as his hands roamed under her cloak.
"By giving me these things...your Majesty sure is demanding quite a bit from me."
Her cheeks were flushed as she tried to catch her breath as she pulled herself away from Omkara's lips.
It was only when she saw the corner of his lips curve up into a sly grin that she regretted her words. Her lips were once again covered by his hunger and between breaths she could only hear one word.
"Punishment."
Omkara wanted to just eat her up right here and vent out his anger towards her. He slowly pushed her against a large tree trunk as he let his fiery kiss travel down her smooth neck down to her clavicle. Letting his black cloak cover the both of them Omkara let his hands touch every inch of her body. Her moans only further entice him. But just before he wanted to slam himself into her he heard her labored voice.
"We have an audience...."
