Chapter 66

Chapter 66

After dining with her grandmother Gauri retreated back to her own room where she had instructed her maids to prepare her bath with warmer water than usual. The moment she entered her two maids quickly came to her side to escort her towards a big screen room divider. She couldn't help but admire the painted flowers that adorned the large screen as her maids shuffled her behind it.

The water must have been pretty hot because she could already see the steam filling up the small room.

"Princess. The water might be too hot. I could go out and fetch a small bucket of cold water to cool it down if you wish."

"No need. You two can leave."

The two maids glanced at each other as their Princess dipped her smooth hand into the water basin that was filled with purple flower petals.

"We can help you undress and wash you Princess."

"No need. I would like to be alone. I will summon you if needed. Just stand guard at the front door."

She let her white dress fall to the floor as she lifted up her foot to enter the basin. The hot water felt so good that Gauri let out a short sigh as she leaned back against the wooden basin. However, the heat from the water soon vanish and Gauri's fingers gripped onto the necklace that held the Frozen Heart.

"It is truly magical. Even with hot water it does not cool down."

The Frozen Heart felt like ice against her skin but not to the point that it was too bothersome. In fact she felt that it had actually helped her endure the cold weather here in Cassi.

"If only I could keep you then the winter in Mordis would be more tolerable." A small chuckle escaped her lips as she leaned her head back to let her long hair dangle outside of the water basin. With many things now running through her mind Gauri's eyes began to sharpen.

"Queen... of Mordis. Will Sahil be alright?"

This was always a major concern for her and no matter how much she wanted to believe her little brother was growing stronger by the day, a part of her was unable to let go.

"Shall I take care of them all during their stay in Mordis?" Hooking up her lips as she slowly stood up from her bath Gauri's eyes turned several shades darker. "Well, I can't find a reason why not."

Ashen

"Princess! Are you okay?" the scared maid yelled out.

Ishana's morning sickness was getting worse by the day and to hear that the Princes of Uthon were here to escort them to Mordis was making her even more stressed.

As she threw up nothing but her morning tea into a small silver basin by the bed Ishana struggled to get up.

"Help me with my hair and makeup. If I don't make an appearance father will be very upset."

When the maid helped her to the vanity dresser Ishana couldn't even look at herself in the mirror. Her face was white as a sheet and her hair was drenched in sweat. She hated the fact that she had to get all dolled up to see the face of that scoundrel that did this to her. Her life had become so pitiful that she was now to sleep with the baby father's older brother! If she had a choice she would get rid of this baby in her womb but the words of her mother were true. This was her only guarantee to becoming Queen of Uthon.

The maid tried her very best and it showed. Ishana was amazed that she was able to look this good after what she had just done minutes ago.

"Is this what they call pregnancy glow?"

The maid didn't dare to say that it was the sweat that was causing her to look like she was glowing.

"You are beautiful Princess."

"I feel better already. Let's go give our greetings."

When Ishana finally made it to the dining hall where everyone was already sitting down for tea she hurriedly curtsied.

"Greetings Father, Greetings Princes of Uthon. I hope I didn't make you wait too long."

"Of course not. It's been a while since I have last seen you. Are you well?" Veer asked.

"Yes. I have been well."

Ishana tried her best to walk slowly and steadily towards her chair when she saw Sahil grinning at her.

"I am also happy to hear you are feeling well sister. I guess it was just a cold."

Suddenly she felt Veer's eyes looks towards her in confusion.

"You were sick?"

"Ah...like Sahil says. It was just a cold."

Ajay could hear the Crown Prince of Ashen chuckling beneath his breath and wondered what was going on.

"What is so funny Prince? Am I missing something?"

At this time Ishana felt the blood draining from her face as she shot daggers at Sahil.

"Do not mind me. I was just imagining something funny. Maybe one day you will laugh with me."

Ishana could feel the blood draining from her face as she stared angrily at Sahil who was smiling at her. She was tired of being teased by him.

"Yes. Don't mind him. He is still upset with what happened to Gauri. Though he is smiling but I know my little brother must be hurting."

When Ishana saw the smile disappear from Sahil's face she felt delighted. Even Ajay wanted to ask more questions regarding Gauri because when he heard the news of her losing her title the urge to want to have her filled his mind. With her no longer being a Princess of Ashen it would be easy to have her part of his harem.

"Do you not know her whereabouts?" Ajay boldly asked.

As Sahil's eyes became colder Ishana's sinister smile grew larger.

"Does it matter? She could never return."

"Enough. Is this how you greet our guests?" Kali roared. "Excuse them. Since the Queen is in Mordis they tend to forget their etiquettes."

Veer also gave his younger brother a warning look. However, he had one question he had been dying to ask.

"Did Princess Riddhima also follow?" asked Veer who was disappointed not seeing her.

"Yes. I feel better knowing she is keeping her mother company. She was very much interested in seeing Mordis."

"Ah. I hear Mordis is very cold this time of year."

"Correct. That is why I want to head for Mordis earlier than previously planned. Unless you need more rest."

"No Your Highness. We could leave today if need be."

"Tomorrow morning is when we will set off." Kali exclaimed.

When Sahil heard this his anger subsided. It was finally time to unite with his sister because once he knew from Dandi that Gauri was no longer in Mordis there could only be one explanation. Fray. Of course he wasn't naive enough to divulge that information to Dandi and only acted surprise and concerned upon hearing the news. Nonetheless, knowing his sister, she will be back in Mordis in time for the signing.

"Gauri...I hope you will give everyone a big surprise."

Mordis

Ranveer rode his stallion through the cold snowy night and only made it back to Mordis when the sun was about to set again. His lips were chapped and bleeding as he jumped down from his black horse. He could feel his body running on it's last leg as he ran towards his King's chambers.

Riddhima who was trying her best to approach Omkara saw Ranveer running frantically up the staircase.

"Why is he in such a rush?"

As she followed him Riddhima hid herself behind a pillar.

"Your Majesty. I have return with news."

Ranveer could barely stand as he stood outside Omkara's room.

"Come in."

Once she saw Ranveer walk inside, Riddhima ran up to the door and pressed her ear against it.

"Damnit! I can't hear anything!"

As she tried to press her ear harder against the door a voice rang out from within.

"Pests."

Riddhima couldn't make out the words but when she saw the sharp end of a sword going through the door she ran back to her room. Her knees were shaking as she touched her bloody ear.

"He...he....he..."

Riddhima frantically ran to a mirror to see that the sword had nip the top part of her earlobe. Her legs finally gave and she slipped down onto the floor.

"Whe....where did mother go?"

"You said there was news."

Omkara has been in a really foul mood as of late and with Ranveer coming to him in such a hurry gave him hope.

"Yes your Majesty. I think I found Lady Gauri."

Omkara's eyes glared at a tired Ranveer as he stood up from his chair.

"You think?"

"She was wearing a veil your Majesty but I am sure it is Lady Gauri."

"Where?"

"In Cassi."

"Cassi..."

Ranveer could see the playful smile on his King's face as he recounted all that he'd seen in Cassi. He didn't know if he should be worried or happy.

"Your Majesty is leaving now?! But what about the Queen and Princess of Ashen?"

Hooking up his lips Omkara called out to Ari who quickly flew down from the roof of his balcony.

"Inform the Crown Princess to entertain them. Tell her I will be away for a couple days on urgent business."

"Yes Your Majesty."

As Omkara sat on Ari's back he couldn't help but smile happily as they darted through the cold night.

"Gauri. Gauri. Gauri. You have time to play in Cassi and not return home to me? I guess you haven't realize how angry I really am."

However, Omkara was not the only one smiling right now. With her white dragon scale mask over her eyes "So he is coming."
