Chapter 57
Chapter 57
For the entire day Sahil still could not forget Svetlana's words. The images of his sister's pain was filling him with immense anger. Swinging his sword with great speed Sahil started to slice the falling leaves being blown around by the night wind. Even Khanna dared not to intervene because he knew that tonight the Crown Prince's mood was very dark. Then suddenly he saw Sahil's eyes directed at something up above.
"What is it Prince?"
"Someone is moving about." His lips curves up in a sinister smile as he looks for Kiba. This was just what he needed after having no outlet to release his hatred that was spurring inside of him. Gripping the hilt of his sword that was now tucked in his waist belt Sahil headed off towards Svetlana's courtyard.
"Let's see what the Queen is up to so late in the night."
Svetlana was sitting in her room waiting for one of her shadow guards to bring Ishana. To her right was an old man who had practice medicine for the majority of his life. Her guard had done well finding him. Tucked away in a small village that even she did know existed. Svetlana piercing gaze startled the poor man who could not stop trembling. It was only hours ago that he was returning from one of his patient's house that a mask man approached him but that was the last thing he remembered. So when he awoke to being placed in the royal palace the man couldn't help but feel that he was in grave danger.
"Your...Your...Highness please spare my life. I do not know what I have done. Please....." begged the old doctor.
He swallowed a mouth full of cold air when the magnanimous woman stood up to tower over him.
"Do as I say and your life will be spared."
The old man nodded his head in hopes that the woman's words were true. Soon he saw a man in black escort someone that was draped in a long black cape.
"Your Highness I have brought the Princess here."
When she drew back the hood of the cape Svetlana could see that Ishana had gotten much paler then this morning.
"Mother....." tears were still running down her face as she ran into her mother's embrace. "I am so scared. What if it's true and things go awry?"
Svetlana pats her daughter's back to settle her chaotic emotions. "One thing at a time Ishana. I have summoned a doctor. We will find out real soon."
"Doctor come. See if the Princess is with child or not."
The old man's face was now pure white. He knew that this matter was big and that his little life might not be here on this earth much longer. However he still had family left behind so he dared not to disobey. Striding over to Ishana the old man asks her to lay on the bed.
"If the Princess would hold out your wrist I will take your pulse."
Svetlana was very nervous but when she saw the old man's forehead started to sweat she knew.....Ishana was indeed pregnant.
"The Princess is indeed with child."
Ishana laid there with silent tears running down onto the pillow but she already knew this in her heart.
"Mo..Mother...what if we get rid of it?"
Of course Svetlana had thought of that but thinking back how her daughter was defiled by the Second Prince of Uthon made the choices more difficult. Who to say that the Crown Prince did not already know that Ishana was no longer pure? She was sure that between brothers Ishana's secret was clear as day to them but since she had sacrificed her maid Tia it gave Ishana an out. There was no way the Princes would reveal that a Princess of Ashen was dishonored in her own home by one of them. Since Prince Veer did not find any reason to reject the arrange marriage without implicating his little brother Svetlana needed this baby more then ever.
"No. This baby is the only way you will be able to become Queen of Uthon. Remember Ishana...on our trip to Mordis you must find a way to sleep with Prince Veer. Only you can control what you will become in the future."
Ishana remained silent as she soaked in the true reality that Gauri had bestowed upon her and her hatred only grew.
"Guard...escort the doctor out of the palace."
When the shadow guard appeared out from the dark he knew what his Queen meant. "Leave no trace."
The guard swiftly picked up the old man and jumped out the window. The old man was amaze how strong this mask man was because it didn't take long for him to find himself standing in a wooded area just behind the palace. The night was dark and the wind made sounds that shook him. The old man knelt down and begged for mercy but the masked man's eyes glowed with murderous intent. Every step taken made the old man's heart skip a beat. He prayed and prayed that the lord protect his family. When he finally opened his eyes he saw the bright moon reflect the shiny sharp sword about to take his life and once again shut his eyes.
"GRrrRR"
His sword stop just a hairline away from the old man's neck when he felt someone or something lurking in the dark. But his intuition was too late because the last thing he saw was a young boy leaping towards him.
The old man felt something warm splash on his face and immediately opened his eyes to the gruesome scene. The head of the mask man was right by his knee causing him to fall back in terror.
"AH!!"
His eyes shifted to a small boy wiping the bloody stains from his sword.
"So..tell me why the Queen summoned you so late in the night."
The old man could see the boy must be of royal blood by the way he was dressed. So he immediately knelt down on his knees and bowed his head to the ground.
"Please! Please spare me! I promise I won't tell a soul! Please!"
Sahil's curiosity was peaked at this point and pointed his sword at the old man. "Tell me what is it that you are hiding."
"The...the....Princess...is...is.. is with ch...child." stuttered the old man.
If one thought Kiba's fangs were scary then they have not seen Sahil's smile tonight.
"Pregnant? No wonder they snuck into Ishana's courtyard and secretly escorted her to the Queen's chambers." Sahil's grin scared the old man until he saw a sack being tossed at him.
"Take this and go far away. Your life is now in your hands."
The old man opened the pouch and saw many gold coins and immediately stood up.
"Thank you! Thank you!" The old man didn't wait around to leave the young boy a chance to change his mind. His feet ran as fast as he could through the wooded forest.
"Crown Prince...what are you going to do now?" Khanna asked as she stepped out from the dark.
"My sister must be bored in Mordis. I will make sure she is entertained when we all arrive. With such joyous news we should share with everyone."
Khanna's heart was now at ease seeing his Crown Prince mood brighten in this dark night.

The moon had finally risen and Omkara's eyes was still focused on the woman who seem to be thinking a lot throughout their journey back. Even during dinner he sensed that Gauri was still hiding something from him. There were times he caught her looking at him with longing and sadness and it made him worry. He waited till the evening was over to escort her back to her chambers where they would finally be alone.
When he saw her open the balcony doors he followed her.
"The snow here is beautiful." Her voice made him feel that she was still so far away yet her body was only inches from his grasp. Thinking that she could disappear at any moment, Omkara wrapped his arms around her waist.
"Are you not cold?"
Letting the cold snow land on her palm Gauri shook her head. "Not cold."
He held her tighter so that he could feel her entire body mold into his chest.
"Why are you so sad? Was today not enjoyable?"
Her chest felt suffocating hearing his words. "It's sad that the day was too short."
When she suddenly turned around to burrow her head deep into his chest Omkara's brows furrowed.
"Are you hiding something from me?"
As she lifted her head to meet his gaze she felt her resolve waving. She did not want to go but when his eyes kept staring at her lips Gauri thought to herself "If he takes my lips he has sealed my choice."
Her eyes trembled slightly as his fingers ran across her lips. She wanted to pull away but his dark eyes drew her in. He was always able to do that to her. She felt like drowning every time he look at her that way.
"I have been wanting to taste them since the morning." His warm breathe made her speechless and motionless. When the tip of his tongue grazed her upper lip to find an opening Gauri's eyes refused to look at him. His lips were now suckling on hers making her knees slightly weaken but soon she could see his eyes sharpen in surprise.
"Gauri....you...."
Gauri did not want to stop the kiss just yet and so she mustered as much strength as she could just to hold on to him. This was the first time he felt her tongue taking charge. She kissed him with much vigor and passion that he grabbed the back of her neck to deepen the sweet tasting nectar. He felt his legs go numb as the woman in his arms helped him onto the cold ground floor.
"I'm sorry." She whispered in his ear as she continued to hug him tightly.
"Why?"
"Because I need to leave and we both know you would not have allowed it."
She let her fingers intertwine with his as she rested her head against his beating heart.
She was right. If he had known he would have never let her leave, especially when so many were chasing after her.
"Do you think this will stop me?" She could feel his threatening words and knew that he was very angry at her.
"Do you think you can stop me?" Gauri repeated as she pulled away from his motionless arms.
"I have always said that I am no one's prisoner. Not even yours....Omkara."
She could see a storm brewing in his dark black eyes that could frighten hundreds of men but for her only sadness swept through. Unable to see him look at her like this Gauri took her small hand to cover his piercing stare. "Don't look at me like that....if you do...I don't know what I should do..."
"Don't go."
He felt her kiss his lips once more but this time he could taste something sweet and floral.
"Do not be angry. I will return to your side in two weeks time and when I do I promise to become your Queen. Remember that I love you Omkara...King of Mordis....When you wake you will feel the overwhelming need to find me but will believe that if you do not give me this time you will NEVER see me again. Fray will never enter into your mind. Tonight you had let me leave peacefully...."
Her words was ricocheting in his mind and he found himself feeling faint. Omkara tried to focus his sights on her but she was becoming blurry to which he tried to reach out to grab hold of her but could not.
"Ari..." Gauri whispers in the night.
"Keep your master warm tonight."
He could see her standing up on the balcony ledge still facing him.
"I will return soon my love. Forgive me..."
His eyes started to tremble when she fell from the high balcony and yet he could not move nor speak. The excruciating feeling of being so helpless was agonizing but soon his eyes found no more strength to keep open.
As she fell on top of Nala who was waiting below Gauri felt the throbbing pain of separation tearing her apart. Never had she thought the power of love could be so tormenting. The King of Mordis had entirely owned her body, mind, and soul.
"Let's hurry Nala so that we can soon return." Gauri takes one last look at the beautiful Mordis Palace that was covered in snow "I will be back."
Arjun felt that tonight felt like eternity and was beginning to doubt that his Princess would come.
"Let's go."
Arjun quickly walks up to the woman sitting on top of a white wolf with a large white cloak. "Princess! You came...."
"Lead the way..."
Arjun quickly jumped on top of his horse and soon both disappeared into the cold snowy night of Mordis.
"How long would it take?" Gauri asked.
"3 days Princess."
"3 days......then she will get to see her mother's grave...."
*********************************
His eyes finally opened to see the sun barely peaking through the horizon. Omkara's fists were already breaking the balcony floor.
"Gauri....."
