Chapter 44

Vikram has been watching over Fray for 5 years now. It was after Jhanvi's death that Kali had decided that it was best to have eyes on Fray.

"Are you sure you have not been discovered?"

"I am sure your Highness. There was no point in time that I felt anyone took notice of my whereabouts."

"Good. Are they on the move?"

"Yes your Highness. The Queen of Fray has dispatch her most trusted guard to seek out Princess Gauri."

Vikram suddenly saw Kali's deadly gaze the minute he referred Gauri as princess.

"Forgive me your Highness."

"Remember she has lost her title! You may address her as My Lady."

Kali wanted to discuss with Vikram more regarding his plans but when he saw Vikram turn his head towards the door where a person's shadow was peering in Kali immediately signaled Vikram to leave.

"Who is there?"

Startled Svetlana tried her best to remain calm.

"It is I My King."

"You may enter."

Expecting to see someone else other than Kali in the room Svetlana's suspicions started to grow when he was just standing by his bookshelf alone.

"I thought I heard someone else in here with you My King."

Throwing his hands behind his back swiftly Kali started to walk over to his Queen who he knew from long ago had plans of her own but he just didn't want to be bother about it.

She could feel the hairs on the back of her neck stand up as he towered over her.

"My Queen has mistaken."

Kali felt satisfied when Svetlana's eyes darted towards the ground unable to meet his gaze.

"Is something wrong for my Queen to seek me out so early this morning?"

"Gauri is gone."

"What?!"

"She is not in her courtyard my King!"

Seeing Kali's eyes fill with anger as well as worry Svetlana knew that something must be happening.

"Did they come get her already?! No. Impossible. The news just broke this morning." Kali thought to himself.

"Guards!!!" roared Kali.

When he saw his 2 guards rush in Kali immediately commanded them to search every inch of the palace for Gauri's whereabouts and report back to him at once.

"Find her! She should not be far!"

With his fist clenched Kali slammed on his desk in a fit of anger breaking a large piece of wood causing a shard to pierce his hand.

"My King! You are bleeding! What is the matter?! Why do I feel you are hiding something from me."

Grinding his teeth at the thought of his plan failing Kali had no time to deal with Svetlana and her scheming tactics.

"My Queen should rest."

As he turned his back on her Svetlana was left with no choice but to leave.

"That damn old man!" Svetlana mumbled to herself on her way out.

Needing to clear her mind Svetlana angrily returned to her courtyard but the minute she entered her private room the stench of blood hit her nostrils.

"What?!"

Her two maids covered their mouths to muffle their screams as Svetlana quickly shot them a angry glance.

"You two get out!"

Turning her head back to the body of her new shadow guard that she stationed outside of her bedroom Svetlana took a closer look.

"Is he trying to mess with me now?!"

With bite injuries like that and white fur intentionally left on the body Svetlana knew exactly who was responsible.

"You don't know who you are messing with little child!"

Struggling to follow his Crown Prince Khanna was getting a little worried as they got closer to the Queen's courtyard.

"Your Highness! What are you planning to do?" Khanna whispered as they swiftly hid behind pillars and trees.

"Didn't I say hunting?"

"Yes but we can start with the guards further away."

But the moment he saw the corner of Sahil's lips Khanna knew exactly which guard he was aiming for.

"For what she did to my sister I will make sure she knows no matter how many shadow guards she has I will still be able to get to her."

It didn't take long for Kiba to look up towards a large tree overlooking Svetlana's bedroom.

"Ah...good boy." Sahil happily praised.

Still unable to grasp what the first course of action was Khanna pulled on the back of Sahil's sleeve.

"What do you want me to do? I should attack first and then...."

Sahil shot Khanna a look of disapproval that stopped Khanna in his tracks.

"You are here as bait."

"What?"

Without a moment noticed Sahil quickly pulled out his short dagger and threw it at the guard hidden in the tree while using his foot to kick Khanna out in the opening.

Deflecting the dagger with his sword the guard saw Khanna below and was about to run towards Svetlana's chamber. He quickly jumped down from his post only to feel danger the minute his foot touched the ground.

"GRAWHHLL!!"

The growl of the beast made his entire body shake as he turns his head in every direction.

"Where is it?!"

From behind the bush he saw the blue eyes stalking him and by the time he saw it Kiba had lunged on top of him with it's fangs at his neck.

"Not yet Kiba."

Walking out from behind the very same bush Sahil slowly made his way towards the guard and as he crouched down to look at the man's pathetic face Sahil chuckled softly.

"She has you to protect her? Well that was too easy. Now tell me. Who else are you working for besides the Queen."

When he didn't hear a reply Sahil took out another short dagger and shoved it through the guard's shoulder why using the other hand to cover his mouth.

"I will ask again. Who else are you working for?"

"I will never talk." grunted the guard.

"Very well then. Kiba......"

Khanna stood in shock seeing the guard being ravished but what was more surprising was Sahil standing there unfazed.

"Everyday I will send my dear step-mother a present."

Mordis

As he set her down in her own bedroom Omkara was still unhappy hearing her words awhile ago.

"Just because you are no longer a Princess of Ashen doesn't mean there is not a better place for you."

The fact that his tone was soft and serious made her feel even more of a burden. It was enough that things has turned out this way Gauri did not want to think about her heart.

"Your Majesty. Instead of trying to comfort me you should focus on your sister."

"I am. I have given her space like she wanted."

Seeing her smile and shake her head Omkara felt confused.

Grabbing her chin Omkara softly asked "Why are you shaking your head and smiling? Did I miss something?"

"Women like to be pampered. Your sister's anger will not subside with time. You should try to put in effort."

Hooking up his lips as he comes in closer Omkara could smell the medicine emitting from her body.

"Women like to be pampered? Then why do you refuse it every time?"

Expecting her to show her shyness Omkara was intrigue to see her smile playfully as she too leaned in closer to him.

"I like to be pampered differently. It's just your Majesty has not found the right way."

"If you weren't injured I would have surely tried many ways to pamper you."

Gauri could see him hold back his desires as his eyes shook slightly when reciting his words.

When she felt his warm lips pressed against hers Gauri grabbed onto the bed sheets below her. His tongue gently chased hers as he nibbled on her lower lips. Only when her arms gave and she stumbled onto the bed did Omkara use his arm to catch her.

"No need to rush by laying down."

When he saw her somewhat felt accused Omkara couldn't help but laugh as he helped her back up to rest on the bed head board.

"So what do you suggest I do to lighten my sister's mood before dinner."

When Gauri saw how much he wanted to mend things with his sister it made her think of Sahil.

"Make her the tonic with your own hands. Whenever I make Sahil's medicine and mix it with the tea his mood always brightens."

"Oh? Then I shall listen to you." Omkara playfully agreed.

"About Sahil's daily medicine....."

"Do not worry I have sent Dandi to be by his side. Bhavya has taught him how to brew the medicine."

"Thank you."

Omkara knew that she must have over exerted herself by walking so much.

"Rest. I will come escort you for dinner later."

Okay.

Omkara didn't waste anytime to go towards Priyanka's kitchen where the maid would probably brewing the tonic.

"You get out. I will make the tonic myself. No one is to let the Princess know that I have made it."

Never in her life would she expect to see her King in the kitchen the maid quickly nodded her head and made herself scarce.

When Gauri woke up from her nap her eyes immediately was drawn to the beautiful purple and blue dress on her bed and as she ran her fingers along the fabric Gauri was in awe of its craftsmanship.

"Stunning."

As the dress reminded her of the dinner Gauri looked towards the balcony to see that it was dark outside.

"I better get dressed."

The dress indeed fit her like a glove and the fabric against her skin left a cool sensation and as she turned to look at herself in the mirror Gauri for once was speechless.

"Beautiful."

His voice made her cheeks flush and as she turned around to see him in his all black royal robe with gold trimming it was the Mordis Crown that always caught her eye.

"You are not so bad yourself your Majesty."

Extending his hand to the woman who will be the Queen of Mordis Omkara let his lips touch the back of her hand.

"Shall we?"

"We Shall."
