Chapter 2
Chapter 2
Gauri looks at the tall man with jet black hair sweating throughout his body followed by his labored breathing she knew that the poison was acting up. "Your Majesty...you have to promise to trust me completely during this process." Feeling like needles were digging deep into his bones Om knew he had no choice because if this woman wanted to kill him right now it wouldn't be all that hard. "What do you mean trust?" Gauri walks closer and pulls out a white 12 inch needle from her pouch "Do you trust me? Because if you don't I will not continue." As he sees the woman covered in hunter green from head to toe leaving only a pair of bright golden eyes looking at him "Tell me what you plan to do with that needle? You planning to kill me?" Gauri crouches down and slightly pushes his shoulder with her palm causing him to fall back "You! You DARE!"
Gauri: Make no mistake your Majesty...I know very well what you are going through right now. With the poison acting up at this moment even a child can kill you. Now do you trust me?
Om steadies himself to sit back up but he did not like the feeling of being helpless. His eyes grew darker by the minute and then Gauri saw a smirk on his face "Fine. I will trust you."
Gauri: Good. Because this is going to hurt...alot. This is not just some ordinary needle. Only two exists in the world.
Om: How do you know only two?
Gauri's eyes looked down for a bit and sadly reply "Because my teacher made it. One for him and one for me."
Om can already sense the sad tone in her melodious voice "And what can this needle do for me?"
Gauri: I need to know precisely how severe you have been poisoned depending on what color this needle changes to I can determine the treatment.
Om: So you want to stab me?
Gauri lifts up the white 12 inch needle. "I will have to push it all the way in...down to your bone."
Om looks at the needle that was pure white with a sharp end like a blade "Then where do you want to insert it?"
Gauri examines Om's body "Shoulder blade. You are already injured there so me inserting it will not be giving you any additional injuries." Gauri was now feeling that time was being wasted and she was getting fed up answering the man's questions and just when Om was about to ask another Gauri quickly jabs the needle into his shoulder but because she needed to push it all the way in she had to use her entire body. The pain of being stab was excruciating especially when the needle had to pierce through bone. Gauri felt Om's hand gripping her shoulder as leverage to deal with the pain but she still needed to push in a bit further. Using all her strength she finally felt the bone. "Your Majesty okay? Om's lips curves up "You look down on me. This is nothing." With her so close Om could smell a light scent of lavender coming off of her body. This was something not ordinary maidens can afford. This scent is for women who bath in lavender everyday only the rich were known to do that. Om was starting to think that maybe this woman was actually a very renown doctor of Ashen. If she was able to cure him he would definitely not let her go. Having her by his side would be very beneficial. As Gauri tries to carefully handle the needle not knowing that Om was already thinking of capturing her later.
Gauri: Okay. I am pulling it out now.
When Gauri saw the color on her needle her eyes looked back at Om. "Your Majesty..."
Om clutching his bleeding shoulder "What is it."
Gauri shows his the tip of her white needle which was black as night. "You are still being poisoned."
Om's black eyes lifts up "What do you mean?"
Gauri: I mean with this type of poison to seep down and absorb this much you have to be expose to it daily.
Om: Impossible! I had my people change out what I eat every day. Even the tea that I drink.
Gauri: I am just telling you what I know. If you want the cure to work you need to find out where the poison in coming from. This poison needs to be ingested.
Om: Of course I knows this! But I have the food change daily. Tea leaves are tested and changed the night before. There is nothing.
Gauri: You say tea leaves are tested while being change the night before?
Om: Yes I have them tested the night before so that I can drink it the next day.
Gauri: Only you drink it?
Om: Of course. This type of tea leaves is hard to come by.
Gauri: Stop drinking it.
Om: Why? I have them tested already.
Gauri: If I am not wrong your Majesty it's not the tea that is the problem but the container that you put it in. When you go back...do not test the leaves before putting it in the container but test it the next morning. I am sure the clay from the container is the reason why your tea leaves are killing you...you are basically soaking the poison overnight.
Om angrily remembers that the Lord was the one who gifted him the jar to put his precious tea leaves in! "One of it's kind! Smart of him to gift me something like that. I will definitely have to repay his kindness!"
Gauri did not want to know about Om's problems because all she wanted was to be able to get her herb without trouble for the next five years. "That is the last of your worries. The treatment itself can kill you."
Om: What do you mean?
Gauri: If you can't handle the pain then you most likely will die. I can only prepare the treatment but the rest is up to your Majesty.
Om laughs evilly "You think to lowly of this King! I can endure it. You just keep your end."
When Gauri was about to pull out some herbs in her pouch she heard some rustling noises close by. Om had noticed that someone was close minutes ago but was hoping that the person would move further away. Looking at Om with her golden eyes Gauri moved away slowly "You planning to leave me here?"
Gauri didn't say anything and climbed up on a vine that was growing inside the cave. "Your Majesty will be bait."
Om could not believe this woman dare to use him to lure the assassin that was lurking outside. The assassin knew he had heard voices coming through the cave and as he slowly approached the entrance his eyes lit up the moment he saw Om sitting down by the cave's wall.
Assassin "Found you!"
Om: You think you can kill the King of Mordis?
Assassin laughing "Of course. You are as good as dead!" As the assassin comes closer looking down at Om with his dagger about to strike Gauri slowly slide down from the vine from up above dangling behind the assassin. With her two daggers the assassin never saw it coming the last thing he saw was Om's smirk and the cold feeling of two daggers slitting his throat. As the man fell down Gauri jumps off the vine while putting her daggers back into her waistband. "I need to go your Majesty."
Om: Where do you think you are going?
Gauri: I need to find the herb and return to Ashen.
Om calmly "And what about the King?"
Gauri takes out a brown pill "Swallow this. In about half an hour the pain will be gone. I will come back here every four days to start your treatment."
Om teasingly opens his mouth so that Gauri would feed him the pill herself "Feed the King." Even though he couldn't see it Gauri was blushing from behind her mask. Holding the pill she carefully puts the pill into Om's mouth but the moment she felt his warm tongue graze her she pulls back nervously. "There your Majesty." Om's lips curves up as he toys with this innocent little rabbit "Thank you." Gauri quickly backs away from the King of Mordis "Your Majesty. For the treatment I need you to bring a basin of water here. Big enough for you to soak in."
Om: Oh?
Gauri: It will be part of your treatment. I will not be convenient for me to bring a basin myself. But for the King it should be easy.
Om smiles at this clever physician "No need to try to flatter me. You have save this King today I will remember it."
Before leaving Gauri felt she needed to remind this arrogant King of Mordis "I saved you so that I can save my brother. No need for the King to remember it." And with her last words Om couldn't help but sit back and smile by himself in the cave "This King will not forget."
And true to her words it only took 30 minutes for him to not feel the pain throughout his body. And as he walked out the cave an evil smile could be seen on Om's face "I think paying a visit to the Lord is a must."
**Hope you guys enjoy this..let me know what you think I am still debating if I should continue or not.**
