Chapter 18

The moment the warmth of the sun hit her face Gauri slowly opened her eyes only to see herself wrapped up in someone's arms. The smell of blood from his palm brought back bits and pieces of what happened last night to which Gauri was not too happy about. If it wasn't for him she would be back at her old courtyard sound asleep as planned but instead she is up on a roof where the sun has only peaked through the horizon.

"I know your Majesty is awake. Would you be so kind as to let me go?"

The sudden tightness around her waist made Gauri turn around to glare at the King who was teasingly smiling at her. Having to guard her Omkara had not slept all night. Instead he had to constantly press on his wound in order to not give into his lustful desires. Luckily he had came across these candles before and knew how to deal with them but what was more surprising to him was that the making of these candles were not from Ashen but from Mordis. The use of these candles were banned after his father became King and ever since Omkara never allowed it to return and to see it in Ashen made him wonder if someone from Mordis was rooted here.

"Your Majesty?"

Seeing her face first thing in the morning truly did make his worries go away but the anger in her eyes only made him want to tease her more.

"I had to guard you all night and not even a thank you Princess?"

Gauri had no time to indulge the King of Mordis's playful nature and could only oblige to his whims.

"Thank you."

He knew time was of the essence for this little Princess of his but he couldn't help but want to spend more time with her. So lifting up his injured palm and trying his best to look pitiful.

"Are you not going to tend to me?"

Hooking her veil back on as her eyes carefully studied the extent of his injury and it didn't take much for her to realize just how much pressure he used to overcome the effects of the drug.

"Of course your Majesty."

The woman he saw last night was long gone because the eyes that is staring back at him now was clear as day. Looking down to make sure no one was around Omkara quickly grab hold of Gauri and jumped down not knowing that when he did the wind slightly blew Gauri's veil up for a split second. And within that split second someone nearby had caught a glimpse.

"What?"

Rubbing his eyes to make sure he wasn't seeing things Samarjeet tried to come a bit closer but by the time he tried to look again there was no traces of them.

"Who was that with him? So beautiful...."

Back in Gopar Samarjeet was use to waking up before the sun rises in order to train in combat with his guards and just by chance he wanted to walk around a bit to stretch out his muscles did he get to see a goddess in a white gown flying down from the sky.

"Did the King of Mordis bring someone from home here? I have heard the women from Mordis are also very beautiful."

Thinking of walking around a bit more Samarjeet decided it might be best to return to his corridor to get ready for breakfast with the royalties of Ashen.

"Maybe I will catch another glimpse of her tomorrow morning and if I am lucky she would be alone."

Finally reaching her old courtyard Gauri quickly gestured Omkara to sit down while she went to gather some medicine to treat his hand. When she returned with a bottle of ointment Omkara obediently laid out his palm.

"How did you find medicine here? Seems like this place is vacant."

Carefully applying the ointment into the gashes in his hand "I use to stay here."

"The Princess must really enjoy privacy to live in this little corner of the palace. Why did you move out?"

Although he already knew everything from Dandi's report Omkara just wanted to know if the Princess was willing to open up to him or has a line been drawn that she will not allow him to step over.

When she was sure that she had spread the ointment evenly Gauri gently wrapped up his palm with a black handkerchief.

Curving up his lips "The Princess sure is smart. Even the color of the bandage is carefully thought out."

Gauri didn't like how he could read her intentions. True she chose black so that if anyone sees his hand they would not question who had tended to it because within the palace there were only a handful of people who knew medicine. If the palace physicians didn't do it then surely they would trace it back to her and she didn't want the headache of being linked to such a powerful person when she herself is trying to deal with so many.

"Your Majesty should return to rest. Soon it will be breakfast."

Raising up his brow and leaning in close to the cold woman before him.

"Breakfast? Isn't there a play to be seen?"

Standing up from her chair to walk farther away from his gaze Gauri quickly turned her back.

"Then I suggest the King return to at least change into something else. If someone is to see us together like this I am afraid it would tarnish both our reputations."

She could hear him rise up from his seat and walking closer to her but Gauri was determined not to turn around.

Leaning down towards the back of her earlobe where he could already see the tip turning pink Omkara playfully whispers "I care nothing of the sort but for you I will leave."

When she could no longer feel his warm breath that sent goosebumps all over her body Gauri had thought he left only to turn around to see him looking down on her and smiling.

"You!"

Hooking up his lips Omkara once again leaned in close to whisper to his angry Princess.

"I will return to escort you to your courtyard where we could enjoy together."

*************

Tia couldn't wait to get her reward so when the sun finally rose up high she quickly went in to make her morning greetings to her Queen.

"Morning your Highness. I hoped you slept well."

With her bright red lipstick Svetlana was already dressed to go out.

"I had a really good dream last night Tia and today it will become reality."

"Do you want me to notify the King to come to Princess Gauri's courtyard?"

Hooking up her lips as she looks at her foolish head maid.

"Fool. Why would we ask the King all of a sudden. That would be too suspicious. As a worried step mother like myself I should check up on my daughter who fell in the frigid water last night...don't you think?"

"This servant is unable to think clearly like your highness. About the earrings.....your Highness...."

When she saw a pair of ruby earrings fall onto the ground Tia quickly grabbed them and tucked them nicely away in her waistband.

"Thank you your Highness."

Standing up to let her red royal robe with golden flowers all over Svetlana could wait no longer.

"Come. Let's visit the Princess."

Back in that very room Ajay and Ishana were still asleep with their ripped clothing scattered all over the floor. The moment Svetlana walked in the room she could smell the aroma of two people who had a night of passion. Her eyes squinted as she smiled evilly when she heard a woman moan "Your Majesty...oh your Majesty..." But as she got closer the voice became too familiar that it halted her steps.

"Wait. That voice...."
