When I was younger, I was a big fan of Monster High. No need to expand upon that, but I used to be a fan.

In any case, they did a whole rebrand for the younger generation at some point. The premise was different, and they ended up scrapping a bunch of characters for the revamp[*Ba dum ts*] to make place for new ones... Or just so they didn't have to deal with such a big cast.

Around the time where the revamp's first movie came out, I remember seeing an ad. I don't remember what happened exactly in the ad, but I remember it was a Monster High Ad.

There were three little girls, talking about their views on the movie in a cheerful way and playing with the dolls. I don't remember what they were saying, but I do remember this one girl mentioning Claude.

Claude was one of the characters they scrapped, he was Claudia's brother and Draculaura's boyfriend.

And to give some context to what the girl says next, Cluadia's mother and Dracula have a "thing" in the revamp, I guess. So, I'm guessing they just scrapped Claude because... It's weird for you mom to be dating your girlfriend's dad. Common sense.

Anyway...

The trio of children are talking about Claudia's mom and Dracula, and this one girl says;

"They're cute, but what about Claude?"

And then one of the other girls said;

"I know, right!"

That's it. That's all I remember.

At this point, I'm not even sure if it's real because I remembered it a while back, did some digging, and couldn't find the ad again. I'm half-convinced I just hallucinated it.

But even if I did hallucinate it, and it was all some weird fever dream...

What that little girl said stuck, and I don't know why.

I'll probably never know either.

By the way, pretty much every single name in the franchise is a pun or reference in some way or another. Ask Zomby Gaga, Bonita Femur, Elle Eedee, Vandala Doubloons, and countless others.

Actually, now that I think of it...

Everything in this franchise is basically just a play on words.

I guess that's just how it be.
