Chapter 16 - I Lost Her...
Michael's POV
October 29, 1996
It was a cold a spooky night. I've been bored these past months since I killed those two campers. Nancy's been avoiding me but trying to act like she's not.
I miss her. Maddie's been talking my head off all day every day since school started back up... She keeps going on about how cool it is being a junior.
I was now laying in bed just staring at my ceiling. I couldn't seem to stop looking at it until a knock came from my door.
I looked over and saw Talia at my door. "Knock, knock." She said coming in a shutting my door. "What do you want?" I said coldly.
"Jeez, rude much?" She said walking over to me. I raised up so I was propped up on my elbows. "What do you want?" I asked again.
"To talk." She said sitting at the edge. "About what?" I asked. "About... us?" She said but sounded more like a question.
I looked at her confused. "Us?" I asked. "Yes, I want to know if you like me." She said. "Huh?" I asked. "I've been seeing the way you look at me." She said.
"What way?" I asked still confused. "sharing long eye contact." She said. The eyes tell you, your real emotion.
I nodded. "You've been looking at me up and down." She said. I keep thinking of how I want to kill you!
"I..." I really didn't know what to say. "I know you like me, Michael." She said. I looked at her not knowing what to say.
Before I could say something she basically jumped on me and kissed me. My eyes widened at this. She straddled me and raised her hands into my hair.
I raised up and put my hands on her shoulders and slightly pushed her back. "Wha-" I was speechless. My mind was nowhere right now.
"It's basically me saying I like you too." She said seductively. "Wait, I don't like you like that," I said. Wait, I don't like her at all.
"You don't need to lie. I see you all the time with Nancy. You don't look like your that happy with her." She said. What the hell is she talking about!?!?!
She started making me question myself. I feel so much anxiety rise up at me. "What makes you think that?" I asked.
"Nancy probably doesn't let you do anything with her." She said ignoring my question. Oh, if only she knew what we did behind closed doors.
She grabbed my hands and put them on her boobs. Why am I letting her do this?!?!?! "You can do whatever you want to me." She said seductively again.
I gently squeezed her boobs just staring at her. "Jeez, Michael. Be a little rougher. Being gentle is overrated." She said removing my hands.
She grabbed the hem of her shirt and lifted it off her to reveal her naked upper half. Her boobs were big but not as big as Nancy's.
"Oh, Michael. You dirty boy." I heard making me look up at her face. I then knew what she was talking about. I got hard.
This is making me feel weird. Nancy's gonna hate me. Nancy's gonna leave me. Nancy's never gonna forgive me. This was all going through my head.
Right on cue, a knock came at my door. "Come in, Nancy," Talia said making my eyes go wide. Nancy came in and stopped looking at the situation.
I kept looking at Nancy and then back at Talia freaked out. Did she fucking invite her over and do this whole thing!?!?!
"It's nice of you to drop by. We wanted to tell you that he doesn't want to be with you anymore." Talia said laying on my chest.
I looked over to see Nancy's face. Tears started to go down her face. She looked shocked and completely sad.
"Nanc-" "Don't!" Nancy yelled cutting me off. Before I could explain she walked out and slammed my door making things fall off my shelf.
I grabbed Talia by the shoulders and threw her off and ran to my door opening it. I ran down the stairs and saw her leaving through the front door.
I run to the door and open it. "Nancy!" I yell. She was now running down the street. "Nancy!" I yelled trying to keep up with her.
I finally caught up to her and grabbed her wrist only to have her turn and slap me hard in the face. I stumbled back and put a hand on my cheek.
"Don't talk to me, Michael!" She shouted at me. "I swear it's not what it looks like," I said. "Oh, really? You were not just in your room feeling up Talia?" She asked.
"I wasn't!" I yelled. She looked down and gave me a disgusted look. "Don't fucking lie to me! You're fucking hard!" She yelled.
I was thrown back by her cussing. I've never heard her yell like this or even cuss. But I was more feeling ashamed than thrown back.
I was hard from what happened. "I wasn't going to do anything with her. I promise." I said looking up at her.
"You mean after you have your way with her?" She yelled. "No! I... I only like you." I said taking a step closer only for her to take a step back.
She looked scared of me. "You're a monster..." She mumbled before turning around and dashing off. I just stood in the middle of the road with a boner trying to process what happened.
October 31, 1996
It's been two days since that occurred. Nancy's been ignoring me while Maddie only talks to me just to call me a pig.
I kept hearing what Nancy called me. "You're a monster" Echoed through my head. Yesterday she through a note at me that said: "I can't do this anymore..."
It really hurt she didn't want to talk to me. I can't blame her though. I let Talia live for now but once I'm in the clear that bitch is dead.
She made me feel total sadness. I haven't eaten since that night. I haven't done anything besides lay in my bed and go to school.
She definitely made me feel my emotions. It's now my birthday and I just want to lay in bed and die. Nancy won't let me explain.
I hear the doorbell ring but don't think of anything of it. I just roll to my side and look out my window. It's now almost dark outside.
I then hear a knock at my door. "Come in," I mumble. The door opens and then closes. I keep looking out the window until I hear her voice.
I turn quickly making my neck hurt but I didn't care at the moment. I saw her. She was in my room. She looked just as bad as me.
"Nance." I breathed out getting up. "Stay there." She said putting her hand up telling me to stop. I did as told and just sat at the edge of my bed looking up at her.
She sniffled a bit. I saddened seeing her look this upset. "I wasn't going to come here but I bought you a birthday present last week and couldn't return it." She said.
She handed me the present. It was wrapped neatly and had her cute wrapping. I took it but sat it down on the edge of my bed.
"Can we talk?" I asked. "Talk about what?" She asked. "Us?" I asked. "There is no us anymore." She said in a shaky voice.
She was totally heartbroken. "What you saw was... what you saw. I was nowhere at the moment just letting her do that and that was my fault." I said.
"Michael..." "No, please. Hear me out. I still love you... very much. I never want to ever hurt you or see you cry like this." I said.
"You cheated." She said. "I-" "You are such a... a... terrible person that... murders people." She said. Man, that hit me deep in the heart.
"Yeah..." "What stopped you now? don't tell me you gave up your era of ways cause she showed you her body." She said.
"I don't know. I couldn't kill her in a house full a people." I said. "You could've thrown her off." She said. "I-" Wow, why didn't I do that?
"Goodbye, Michael." She said walking towards my door. "Wait!" I said getting up and shutting the door. She turned around and looked at me frightened.
"Will... will we ever..." I asked not being able to finish. "Let me think about it and we'll see." She said. I opened the door and there she went. Leaving me again.
December 28, 1996
A boring day came on this snowy day. It snowed then sort of melted. It's now all sloshy outside. I'm at a shop with mom while she looks at clothes.
Nobody wanted to go and I've been very depressed so she thought it was a good idea to bring me to cheer me up.
I'm now holding a bunch of clothes while mom acts like a teenager and picks out clothes. I look around feeling weird.
Woman keep staring at me like I'm some pervert or something. "Mom, can we go?" I asked. "No, Michael." She said looking at a pretty dress that looked like Nancy's.
I then started to think of her. I started to feel sad and angry. It made me think of how much I hated Talia.
I moved over and sat the clothes down. I started heating up and it was out of only pure anger. Nothing more. I took off my jacket and kept my cool in front of everyone.
I looked around again trying to distract my mind before getting more angry about this. I look out the window and see a girl walking.
She had very long black hair like Nancy's. I looked away before coming to realization. It was Nancy. "I'll be back!" I yelled to mom before running out.
I ignored my mom's calls for me to come back and just went outside. I was cold. I stepped in the wet snow and made it over to Nancy.
I stopped in front of her and called her name. She had her headphones on. She then looked up at me. All the memories of us were flooding back into my mind.
My anger went away when I saw her innocent face. "Hi." I breathed out. Nancy got all shy with me. "Hey..." She said.
Instead of that silence, we had when dating it now was super uncomfortable and awkward. "Nance?" I asked making her look up again.
"Yeah?" She asked. I reached out to grab her but she took a step back and looked at me like she was scared I was gonna kill her.
"Are you scared of me?" I asked feeling hurt. She looked into my eyes a nodded a bit. I couldn't help but feel hurt.
Out of all the times, she's scared of me now. I took a step closer. "Why?" I asked. She took a moment to answer.
"You probably want to kill me since I broke up with you." She said now breaking down and crying. I didn't expect her to cry.
"Hey, hey," I said taking a step closer to her. She took a few steps back out of fear. "I'm not going to do anything to you," I said.
"You like Talia more than me." She was now fully sobbing into her hands. She was scared and heartbroken. It was making me even more depressed.
"Nance... I don't like her at all." I said taking a step towards her. I shuddered, feeling the cold breeze hit my bare arms.
"Y-you were with her in your room touching her." She sobbed out. She just needed to talk. "She did that and I wasn't thinking," I said taking another step closer.
"You probably thought her body was better than mine." She sobbed out more. "No, I could never think that. I'm..." I paused for a moment.
"I'm a pig just like Maddie says," I said stepping closer to her. I was now in front of her. I hesitantly wrapped my arms around her giving her a hug.
I saw people staring. I ignored them and went back to looking at her. She wrapped her hands around me and started crying into my chest.
I felt her warmth. "I miss you." I heard her say. I smile at this and stroke her hair feeling whole right now.
"I miss you, too," I said. "This was just Talia's fault... I should've let you explain." She said now calming down.
"No, I was in the wrong for not stopping her quick enough," I said. She looked up at me and then noticed a few stares.
"I love you, Michael. I feel a lot of emotions right now but I know I still love you after everything." She said making me look at her in awe.
She still loves me after everything. "Oh, Michael! Where's your jacket?" I heard. It was not my mother's voice.
Nancy and I turned to see Talia standing there sucking on a lollipop. I felt my blood boil making me slightly grip Nancy.
I knew Nancy felt the same cause she gripped onto me too. I wanted to kill her. I had to get her alone. Nancy was now walking to her.
"What's wrong?" Talia asked with a smile on her face. "You're such a bitch you know that?" Nancy said making me and Talia look at her surprised.
"I'm sorry?" Talia asked. "You are a stupid slut that basically can't take her hands off any man. You knew we were dating." She said.
Talia got a big smile. "So? At least if he was dating me, I'd let him do whatever he wanted to me." She said giving me a wink.
"I think we all three need to talk privately," I said through gritted teeth. I grabbed Nancy's hand lightly and grabbed Talia's roughly making her yell.
"Ow! Michael! That hurts!" She said. I dragged them to the car and made Nancy sit up front and Talia in the back.
"Michael!" I heard making me turn around to see my mother. "Where are you going?" She asked then looked in the passenger's seat to see Nancy.
"They asked if I could take them home... call dad to come pick you up if I'm not back in two hours." I said walking to the driver's seat. "Okay..." Mom said sadly.
"See you soon," I said getting into her car and getting the keys out of my pants pocket. I started the car and began driving.
"What's happening?" Talia asked. Nancy kept fidgeting in her seat. "We're going to... talk," I said turning to the abandoned road where I killed Joeseph and told Nancy I was a murderer.
"Why are we here?" Talia said. "To talk," I said. I stopped the car and got out. Talia got out hesitantly and Nancy just stayed in the car like she was over thinking something.
It was cold and I didn't bring a jacket. Nancy got out and looked at me worriedly. She knew what I probably wanted to do.
I then realized I had no weapon and I didn't know what to do. I then remembered I left the screwdriver with Joeseph.
I looked over at the house and bit my lip. I didn't know if I should leave them alone to get a weapon. I looked over to see Talia complaining and Nancy standing there.
Nancy came over to me and looked into my eyes. "You're not gonna kill her, are you?" She asked. I scoffed at her question like it wasn't obvious, I wanted to kill her.
"You can stay here and tell her what's on your mind and then I can take care of the rest," I said starting to walk to the house.
I got to the house and opened it and almost vomited at the smell of death. I put my hand over my mouth and made my way to the couch where his body was.
It's already been about almost a year and he's a skeleton with some still rotting skin. I coughed having the smell get to me again.
I saw him holding the screwdriver. I was a bit hesitant to grab it since it was probably gross. I looked at his body in disgust while I grabbed it without touching him.
I started to walk before I heard yelling. I opened the door and got fresh air. I looked over and lost my breath at seeing Nancy and Talia fighting.
Talia shoved Nancy making her mad. Nancy said something and then shoved her back. "You bitch!" Talia yelled before launching herself at Nancy.
They fell down onto the ground and started attacking each other like wild animals. I started to jog over there.
"You're a dumb slut!" Talia yelled grabbing nancy's long beautiful hair and yanking it. Nancy groaned in pain and punched her in the face making her fall to the side.
I grabbed Talia and yanked her off of Nancy. I really didn't think girls solved there problems like this. "Stop it!" I yelled scaring both of the girls.
Talia smacked my arm then realized I had a screwdriver in my hand. "What are you doing?" Talia asked. I looked down at the screwdriver in my hand.
I'm wondering if I stab her in the head with this it would fix her. I grip it tighter and look at her seriously. "I-" "Are you gonna stab me?" She asked cutting me off.
"...yes..." I said. She looked at me for a moment. "Michael, she might be a whore, but she doesn't deserve this," Nancy said.
I looked at her weirdly. "What?!" I shouted totally in shock that she doesn't think she deserves this. "You still think she should live after all the things she's done!?!?" I shouted once more.
Talia was about to run. Before I knew it Nancy grabbed her shirt and pulled her down where she fell to the ground. Nancy slammed her foot onto her stomach.
"Stay there!" She yelled before looking back up at me. "No one deserves to die." She said. I looked down at Talia coughing.
"Apparently they're allowed to be hurt badly," I said. Nancy just looked at me. "That's different." She said. Jeez, she's being all different.
I think her seeing Talia and me on the bed, made her act differently. She seems to be having like a wall built up.
"But... she ruined us..." I said biting my lip nervously. Nancy looked sad by this. I saw her hand go into a fist before she looked down at Talia.
"Why are you like this?" Nancy asked. I stayed quiet not knowing if she meant Talia or me. "I'm nothing! You're just jealous he likes me more." She said with a smirk.
"Michael..." Nancy said. "Yeah?" I asked. "Please..." She said. "Huh?" I asked confused. "Please just kill her." She said in a quiet calm voice.
"But-" "No! Don't do that!" Talia screamed. I kneeled down and looked at her. She was squirming. I looked at her for a moment.
It reminded me of everything's she's been doing for the past year. I felt my blood boil. I raised up the screwdriver before quickly stabbing her in the stomach.
She jolted up and coughed. I started to repeatedly stab her in her stomach and chest until she started breathing weird.
It somehow wasn't killing her fast enough. I then stabbed her in the throat making it squirt a bit. She now was dead.
I felt sweaty. I looked up and Nancy looking at me horrified. I sat the bloody screwdriver down and raised up.
She looked frightened of me again. She backed up a bit. "You asked me to do this," I said pointing down at Talia's dead lifeless body.
"I-I know..." She said in a shaky voice. "Don't tell me you're afraid of me now," I said taking a step closer to her.
I then realized she got blood on her like, I did. "I'm... I-I'm not..." She said looking up at me. I stepped closer to her and she looked down.
"Nance," I said about to touch her chin but realized my hand was covered in blood. "I love you," I said. She looked up at me.
"I..." She stopped and looked behind me at the body. "I should probably put her with Joeseph," I said. "Joeseph is here?" She said.
"Yeah..." I said then turning around and grabbing Talia. I grunted from her dead weight being heavy. I started to drag her up to the house.
Once I got to the door, all I could smell was death. I ignored it and just started dragging her to where Joseph was.
I sat her down andshe fell over on to Josephs lap. I smirked and then remembered it smelled nothing but death.
I walked out and saw Nancy just standing by the car. I shut the door and walked over to the screwdriver picking it up.
I looked over at Nancy. "Nancy..." I said. She slowly looked up. "Yeah?" She said. "Can you help me with a small favor?" I said walking over to her.
"You're not gonna ask me to take the blame for this, are you?" She asked. "No, oh, god, no. I just... I..." I paused for a moment before looking at her seriously.
"I have a plan."
