* in the cafe *
"So this is the coat?" Zian asked
"Yes" I said
"It means that the killer had this coat on when he kidnapped Neil" Teera said
"Most probably" I said
"But what if the coat killer wore was of a different colour?" Zian asked
"Nope, because the shopkeeper said that this coat is sold only in black colour" I said
"Then that makes the job easy for us" Teera said
"Not really because we have so many people wearing this coat and finding the killer is not easy" I said
"Hmm...but there must be some way out" Zian said
"I think there is" Teera said
We both looked at her and waited for her to continue.
"We should look out for CCTV footages" She said
"That's a good idea!" Zian said
"Yeah. We should see the CCTV footages of the day when the killer kidnapped Neil. Maybe we can find him" I said
"Yup" Teera said
"We should look out for footages near the abandoned house" Zian suggested
"But do you think there would be CCTV cameras at the outskirts of the city?" Teera said
She was right. There would be hardly any CCTV cameras at the outskirts of the city. I thought for a while and said,
"Do you remember that there were a few shops lined when we were halfway through the drive to the abandoned house?" I said
"Oh yes!" Zian said
"The cameras must have captured the killer when he was on his way to the house" Teera said
"Exactly. We should go and check there" I said
They both nodded and we got up to go there. We sat in the car and and Zian drove to our location. After a while, we reached near the shops. There were 4-5 shops lined and most of them dealt with garments.
"I think the killer got his coat from one of these shops" Teera said
"Maybe" Zian said
We got off the car and went towards the shops. I went to the shop in front of me and Teera and Zian went to the shop adjacent to it.
I entered the shop. It was a decent looking shop with garments lined all over. I went to the owner and said,
"Hello"
He looked up and said "Hello mam.What do you want? We have everything"
"No thanks. I wanted to know do you have CCTV camera? I asked
"Yes, why?" He asked
"I am in search of a killer and I think your CCTV camera must have captured it" I said
"Oh! Okay. I can show you the footage" He said
"Thank you" I said and we went to a room. It was a small room with a person in front of the computer. He whispered something in the ear of the person and looked at me,
"Can you tell me the date when you think the killer came here" He asked
"It's 20th April" I said
It's been 2 weeks since he murdered Neil. He nodded and the person sitting on the chair started putting the details. Suddenly, I got a call from Zian,
"Hello Zian" I said
"Jia, we didn't find anything in the footages" He said
"Oh! That's sad" I said
"Well, where are you?" He asked
"I am in the shop adjacent to the shop where you went" I said
"Okay" He said and cut the call
"Is there something in the footage?" I asked the owner
"We are checking mam but we haven't found anything till now" He said
I nodded and they kept their search on. After a while, Teera and Zian came.
"Hey Jia, did u get anything" Teera said
"Not till now" I replied
We waited for a while for something to pop up and suddenly I saw something.....
