[Chris' PoV]

It was again like no any other day. It's our second day of school yet nothing's ever happening. Same stuff are always happening. Same lessons, same routines, same classmates.  Although, there's a new guy. I am in fact looking for something. Something interesting. This side of me has always been with me, wherever I go. My friends doesn't know it though but this side is the one always getting me involved into something.

"Hey, Chris. Daydreaming again?" Kida whispered beside me, making me out of my trance.

"H-huh? What?" I asked him, kind of shocked. In response, Kida chuckled.

"Heh~ So I was right. Who are you daydreaming at, huh, Chris~?" He teasingly asked me, resulting me to blush. Kida has always been my crush but I'm good enough to hide it so nobody notices it.

"Psh. Stop it, Kida. I'm not daydreaming." I replied, sternly.

"Oh really now? Then, why are you so deep in thought?" Honestly, this guy always likes to find a hole onto me.

"I'm just... thinking of stuff that doesn't relate to you!" I playfully shouted at him.

"Hm. Fine, fine~ Say, later, let's eat lunch together. With Bryan and the others." He offered.

"Sure." At first I thought we were only the ones that's going to eat together but I can't assume much.

And after that, the bell rang, signaling the start of classes.

As I ready myself for the first subject, I accidentally glanced at the new guy. I caught his eye who is looking at me too. I got shocked at first but managed to revert it into a small smile. In response, he gave me a small smile back. And that's when I thought that the new kid is not that bad, well, I guess.

Lunch time.

Finally.

A time with my friends again! I hurried down to the cafeteria because I know that they're already there, waiting impatiently for me. As I hurried down, I suddenly caught a glimpse of black cloth. I stopped for a while and looked around me, but nothing was there. I started to wonder again but it all went to blind eyes.

I arrived at the cafeteria and saw my friends waiting for me. I sat down beside Maxeene who's practically chewing down her meal.

"So guys. Have you ever wondered about that new kid?" I asked them suddenly.

"New kid? Who?" Bryan asked quizzically.

"The new kid. You haven't noticed him?" I asked again.

"Oh! That new kid!" Ran snapped her fingers. "Yeah, saw him. But not interested in talking to him." Ran quickly denied, placing her palm on her chin signaling for boredom.

"Come on, dude. He's not that bad." I rejected her opinion.

"Oh really? How can you say so?" Maxeene asked.

"Well, earlier, we shared a smile." I answered, kind of shy. Kida raised a brow.

"That's the reason? Seriously? Dude, he could be tricking you to fall into a sorcery trap." Maxeene hypothesized.

"True! And after that, when you really fell for it, he will tear open your body and eat your organs!" Bryan theorized.

I heaved out a sigh.

"Come on, guys. None of those are real." I said.

"How can you be so sure? In just a glimpse of an eye, everything could change. Everything could change to the unexpected... If you continue getting involved into things that you're not supposed to get involved in, Chris." Toby, who has been quiet all the time, talked as if he knew every single thing about me. I mean, he's the quiet type but I didn't expect him to say something like that. We all looked at him with wide eyes.

"H-how can you say so, Toby?" I've gotten a little taken aback but that's what always arouse me to this kind of situation.

"Because I know so. So be careful from now on." With that, I nodded slowly, still confused and scared about what he said but I made sure I took note of it.

Lunch ended and we head back to our classroom. As usual, same things happened. Jincarl and Ian arguing, the faculty room being so loud with laughter, some bullies trying to show off.

Sigh...

Isn't there any interesting thing that's going to happen?
