Chapter 3, Sneaking out
I looked at the list. I had completed the list of chores mother had given me before she left...
Looking at the time I saw I had two hours before she got home, but I wasn't allowed to watch tv or do hardly anything but read or bake... And those both sounded boring.
I looked out the window, again wishing I could leave, could run and play. To be honest, I would just be happy standing in the warmth of the sun, I didn't need much.
I started to open the window, but stopped.
Mother wasn't home, she wouldn't be home for two hours, Roger and Rosalie would be gone maybe 3 more hours, and father would be gone 5 more hours, surely I could sneak out and get back 10 minutes before mother gets home...
I decided to risk it.
I opened the door and stepped out slowly, the sun felt so warm and inviting.
I shut the door quietly and decided to walk around town.
Maybe I could meet someone to be my friend...
As I walked through town, I looked in all the windows.
I knew where mom worked, so I could steer clear of there. I knew because when I had been little she would take me to work with her instead of leaving me at home. She stopped when I was old enough to do chores.
Instead, I now cleaned the house and basically homeshooled myself.
As I was looking around, I didn't notice where I was going.
I accidentally bumped into someone.
"Oops, sorry..." I said, looking up. I had bumped into someone's back, and as he turned around I could see it was a boy with pretty teal hair. But he didn't look happy with me...
"Beat 'im up Mikuo!" Shouted a girl from behind. Her hair was a pretty pink, but she wore a black crop top with a skull.
"No, it was a accident, please don't..." I said in fear.
Not only fear of the pain, but if mother found any marks on me from getting beat up, she might realize I had been outside, then she'd get mad.
The one the girl had called Mikuo smiled menacingly at me.
"Yes Luka, brilliant idea" he said, slamming his fist into my gut.
All air rushed out of my lungs as I bent over gripping my stomach.
He pushed me up and grabbed my neck, not quite blocking my air, but getting close, as he shoved me against the wall.
The evil look on his face told me this was fun for him.
Why hadn't I stayed home? I had to look through town, didn't I?
The pink haired girl cheered.
Mikuo punched me again, this time in the face.
I cried out before he let go.
I sank to the ground and laid there a moment before I felt a kick in my back. The tears of pain rolled down my face, my own cries filling my ears. Unfortunately they only seemed to fuel him on.
When would he stop?
