Chapter 19, Mikuo and Rin meet

Mikuo's POV

I saw my sister getting ice cream with a cute blonde girl. She looked a lot like the kid I beat up yesterday, but I knew it wasn't a he, it was clearly a girl.

She was holding a orange ice cream and my sister got vanilla.

"Mikuo, watchu looking at?" Luka asked but I didn't care to answer. The blonde girl looked at us and jumped up and down excitedly, before pulling Miku over.

"Hi! I'm Rin and you look a lot like my friend Miku!" She said sitting down. Miku was red and looked like she wanted to be anywhere but here, but she sat down also.

I couldn't take my eyes off Rin. She was really pretty with her blonde hair and large blue eyes that looked exactly like the kid from yesterday, except his eyes had been full of fear and pain, while hers were bubby, vibrant and energetic.

I could see Luka look at me from the corner of my eye but I didn't turn to her.

Rin was talking to Miku and Luka, not even paying me any mind. Hhmn, her voice was like music to my ears. Finally she turned to me and asked, "so what's your favorite food, color and anime?"

I was surprised that she was asking me, but answered with, "I like leeks, same as my sister, Turquoise is pretty but I don't think I necessarily have a favorite, and Hotarubi no Mori e, Kaitou Joker and Tokyo Ghoul are the only anime I've watched."

"Hotarubi no Mori e is soooooo sad! I cried so hard after Gin disappeared. Why Gin? Just why!"

"Its just a anime character, it's not worth crying over."

"Well, it was sad nonetheless."

I shrugged. "Anyway, what are your answers to the questions? What's your favorite food, color and anime?"

"Oranges, Yellow and I like Fruit basket! The characters in there are sooo cute,"

"Aren't all anime characters cute?"

Everyone agreed with that. We talked awhile longer before I realized I was the only boy talking with three girls.

"Uhmn, we better go..." I said, standing up and Luka and I left. I could feel my cheeks heat up. When we were out of earshot and out of sight Luka squealed and jumped up and down.

"What? Why are you acting like this?"

"Mikuo has a crushhhhhhh! Eeeeeee!" She squealed louder, if that were possible. I covered me ears and protested, "No I don't! What makes you say that?"

She stopped squealing and coughed lightly before saying, "well let's see. You and her agree on a lot, she's pretty, you keep blushing-"

"I do not!"

"Shh, let me finish. And she's sweet and childlike, she would be good for you."

"But I have you, not her..."

"You and I both know I'm just a friend,"

"Well I doubt she'd like me any way. I'm a selfish, bratty jerk and don't even talk to my sister." I snapped at Luka.

"Pfft, yeah okay. Well, you never know. Oh, and.." She came up and whispered in my ear, "you basically just admitted you do have a crush on her." She backed away with a evil grin on her face.

I sighed. I did have a crush on her, but I couldn't keep anything secret from Luka, she knew me too well. But me and that energetic girl? I doubted it would work out. And every time I saw her I would think of that blonde kid...

Guilt washed over me as Luka and I went to find our next activity. I would forever regret beating up that kid. And I didn't know where he lived to ask for forgiveness. Not that I would! Just... God my own thoughts were so confusing.
