The Basement
(Y/N) jolted awake suddenly, their head throbbing. They heard a soft murmuring to their left, and they felt restrained.
They tried to move their arms, but something was holding them back with a tough force. They looked down to see possibly the worst thing.
They were tied up with ropes at every joint.
(Y/N) gasped, catching the attention of the murmurer.
"(Y/N! T-Thank god you're awake!" A voice rushed out, relief flooding the room.
(Y/N) recognized the voice as Evan Hansen. He sounded like he was crying, his voice cracking every so often.
"Evan, where are we?" (Y/N) asked, looking around the dimly lit room. It appeared mostly empty, besides them and Evan.
"I-i, uh.." Evan gulped. How would he put this?
"W-we're in a basement. Connor's right there.." Evan trailed off, his head nodding towards Connor, who was bruised and bloody, tied against a pole. He was hunched over. (Y/N) let out a gasp.
"We have to get out.." They murmured, worry extruding from their voice.
"N-no.." Evan choked out, letting a sob free.
"What!?" (Y/N) whisper-yelled, shocked Evan would even consider not escaping.
"Y-you heard me! We're gonna die here! A-and.. I never got to tell you!" Evan shouted, his voice echoing off the walls.
"What are you talking about? Tell me what!?" (Y/N) whisper-yelled once more.
"T-that.." Evan said, his voice cracking. He took a small breath and began.
"T-that I love you, (Y/N)! I've loved for so long and you've never noticed! Every time I see you, my heart skips a beat, and everything goes blurry! I love everything about you, from your hair to your eyes to your body! Everything about you makes me blush and I cant even be in the same f-fucking room as you without having my heart grow five sizes! I would do anything for you, (Y/N)! All my life I've just wanted you to feel the same way! I just wanted you to notice.."
Evan finished, his voice cracking as sobs emitted from his body.
(Y/N) didn't know how to reply. Evan had just poured out his heart to them. What the hell do they say now?
A third voice suddenly chimed in.
"Jeez, would you two get a room?"
_____
Connor had awoken to a sobbing Evan, a shocked (Y/N), and nasty pains all over his body.
Naturally, the first thing he did was tell them to get a room.
"Connor!" (Y/N) and Evan exclaimed in unison. How come they were so happy to see him?
Then it hit him..
"Fuck. Fuck!" Connor yelled out hitting the back of his head on the pole. "FUCK!"
"Connor, stop it! We need to get out!" (Y/N) scolded, squirming around in their bindings.
"I know, asshole. Luckily, I came prepared." Connor replied, a smug look on his face.
He wiggled around in the ropes for a few minutes before his hand got to the pocket of his hoodie - where he pulled a short, three inch pocket knife.
He wasted no time, cutting at the ropes around his arms, then at his legs, then his feet.
"Okay.. Okay.." He mumbled, hoisting himself up. He almost fell, but he managed. Even if he still was dizzy and wobbly. Leaning on the wall for support, he made his way over to (Y/N) and Evan.
Cutting the ropes at a quicker pace then he cut his own, (Y/N) was soon free. They sprung up and stretched, causing something to crack in their body. They rubbed their temples and turned back to Connor, who was already cutting away at Evan's ropes.
(Y/N) felt their pockets, looking for something to help, anything to help. Their hands flew to their back pocket, where they kept their phone. Unsurprisingly, it was not there.
Evan, finally free, hopped up and ran to (Y/N). (Y/N) engulfed him in a hug, causing connor to snicker and make kissy faces. (Y/N) promptly flipped him off.
When Evan finally pulled away from (Y/N), he looked around the room until he spotted the only light source - a door that was creaked open, light spilling in.
Without thinking, he ran to the door, the three behind him.
They would get out, or die trying.
_____
Heidi sat in her house, Noah huddled in her lap. She was sitting across from a police officer, a kind lady with kinky hair and dark skin. She scribbled things down as she said them.
"So, before I go, let me recount, Ms. Hansen. Evan went out with a friend, then after a few hours he stopped replying to texts or calls, neither had (Y/N)?" The officer asked, an eyebrow raised.
"Yes. Evan always answers his phone, so does (Y/N)." Heidi replied, her voice shaky. It had been almost eight hours since the two left to the orchard, and it was quickly approaching midnight. Evan had promised to get back by nine, and (Y/N) was to pick up Noah at the same time.
Something was very wrong. What if they were murdered!?
The police officer stood up, tucking her note pad in her pocket.
"Well, Ms. Hansen, we cant launch an investigation until they're missing for two days, but I'll go check the orchard and surrounding places for them. Thank you for your time."
Heidi nodded uneasily as she left the home.
Noah clutched onto Heidi, whimpering as tears racked his small body. Heidi had tried to explain the situation the best she could to the little boy, but it wasn't easy.
"Noah, how about you go lie down and watch some TV? I'm sure that (Y/N) and Evan will be back soon!" Heidi said, trying to comfort the child.
Noah sniffled, nodding weakly. He hopped off of Heidi's lap and trudged to her room, where the TV was still on.
Hopefully the duo would come back soon. If Heidi lost Evan, she wouldn't know what to do with her life. All that she worked for, all she'd ever done - was for him. If he was gone, she was nothing.
She took a breath, writing a mental note. They always seemed to calm Evan down, maybe she could try.
Dear Heidi Hansen,
The two are missing
But today is going to be a good day.
And here's why.
Because today you got to spend time with Noah, and today they'll come back
Sincerely,
Your closest and only friend,
Me.
A/N
*SIPS TEA AGGRESSIVELY*
What? I can hurt these characters if I want. Who knows.
Maybe a main character will die next chapter. ;)
