Aftermath
A week had passed since the incident. They had gotten out safely, alerted the Cops, and helped the renegades get shut down.
Connor and Evan had, at least.
They couldn't say the same for (Y/N). They had been so badly beaten by the renegades from before that they had to be rushed to hospital immediately.
It was approximately five forty three in the morning when (Y/N) left the living. Noah was wailing in the hospital waiting room, Connor was infuriated, and blamed it on himself. Evan fainted. But Jared.. Jared seemed unaffected for the most part. But that was fair - everyone had their way of mourning.
Evan had to walk into the room and see (Y/N) for themselves. They had been his first crush, his first almost kiss, and his first friend. If they had really died, he wanted to see them.
So, Evan went in, and saw (Y/N)'s lifeless body stiff and blue on the bed. Their face, though.. it was unnervingly peaceful.
He dashed over to their body, his hands running themselves over their cheek, which was cold to the touch, unsurprisingly.
He went numb, sobbing louder then ever, his warm tears landing on (Y/N)'s face, collar, and brow-bone.
Then, someone must have come through. The Creator, (Y/N)'s deceased mother, whomever it was.
Because Evan heard a soft beeping sound come from the monitor.
A Doctor, hearing the sound, rushed Evan out to preform exams on (Y/N).
So to make it short, (Y/N) had miraculously been brought back, somehow.
And everyone rejoiced.
_______
It was now around two weeks after the incident at the hospital. (Y/N) was better now, and it was rare to find them alone. Noah clung to their side whenever possible, and Evan did the same, as if leaving them alone would kill them again.
Evan had consulted Jared, who had encouraged him to ask (Y/N) out. Evan, instead, invited them over in a series of texts.
Hansen: (Y/N)
(L/N): Yeah
Hansen: Are you free tomorrow?
(L/N): Yeah I think so, why?
Hansen: well my mom's birthday is coming up and I wanted to see if you could help me make something for her
Hansen: like brownies or whatever
(L/N): That sounds fun
(L/N): Ill totally be there around like 2pm
Hansen: perfect
(L/N): See you then
Hansen: see ya
So, (Y/N) stood in their room, getting ready to go to the Hansen household. As much as they hated to admit it, after Evan had confessed to them, they started feeling weird around him.
Their stomach would get in knots, their vision would blur, and they'd get lightheaded. They blamed it on the fact they were dead for a few hours - so this was nothing concerning for (Y/N), emotion-wise.
Little did they know - they had hell of a storm coming.
____
Evan had his laptop resting on the counter top where he and (Y/N) would made his mother's gift. He was typing frantically, eager to finish his letter for the day. He was almost done with them for good. Just a few more weeks of them, and he wouldn't have to write one ever again.
Although, some part of him was sad they were ending soon. He had poured out his emotions to these letters, all the experiences of the past few months.
Perhaps he would write more, even after he didn't need to anymore.
But that wasn't important right now. Right now he just had to finish this letter.
Dear Evan Hansen,
Today's gonna be a good day - and here's why.
Because today you are either going to be accepted or rejected by (Y/N) (L/N).
And weather or not it works out
its okay.
Because after all of this stuff, they're still your best friend.
Sincerely,
Your closest and dearest friend,
A/N:
