UA Sports Festival Pt. 1
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
---
(3rd Person POV)
Class 1A has begun to attend classes once more. Their main teacher, Shouta Aizawa, has recovered quite a bit since the USJ incident. Now, the UA Sports Festival has been announced.
Many students, teachers, and parents alike were nervous about the announcement. No one was sure if the League of Villains would strike again, everything was being done with extreme caution because of that fact.
That is what the student Izuku Midoriya was able to gather at least.
"You're mumbling again." Shinso told his friend whilst lightly chuckling.
"Oh, sorry Toshi, I will try not to as much." Izuku replied, his hand rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly.
"Eh, it was kind of nice to hear a run down of thing, hehe. Also, good luck keeping your word, it is going to be impossible for you not to during the sports festival." Shinso responded.
They had all gotten closer over the last couple of days. Izuku now called Shinso Toshi, while Kit calls him Hito, meaning they all have their own unique names for each other. A sign of friendship they agreed.
The two students were walking to their classroom, having already split ways with Kit. All three had been worried about Aizawa after seeing the amount of damage the villains had done, so they were relieved to see him back to his old self.
Well, mostly back to his old self. He had to wear a bandage that covered his entire face throughout the day. No one had been able to actually see his face, except for him of course. This means, no one knew what to expect when he eventually does take the wrapping off.
The UA Sports Festival was an event held annually, where students from every class could compete to either keep their spot in the hero course, or earn their spot in the hero course. Both classes had already been warned by general study students that they would do whatever it takes to get in.
But Class 1A and 1B had a different type of rivalry. Both wanted to become great heroes, both were in the neccesary course, but they still had to compete with each other.
---
One student in particular was very aware of this, due to their friend, Monoma Neito.
"I can't believe all the attention is on Class 1A! I mean, Yasuko was part of the reason the heroes even got there to help them, so why isn't anyone talking about the 1B student who was involved?!" Monoma asked his group, or squad, of friends.
"They just don't see how manly we are." Tetsu replied.
"Honestly, I don't know." Kendo told the blonde.
"Do you really want to know Monoma?" Kit asked.
"Yes, yes I do." Monoma told the ravenette.
"It's becasue people only see the bad things that happened there. They only see the fact the villains broke into the UA highschool, and attacked a class of students. They only see that a teacher was severely injured, and that many students were also effected. They don't see the efforts others put into to help the situation. They don't see any of the good. They see what the news reports, and the news reported the things that would get attention, and that is the bad stuff. Not the random 1B student who wasn't even conscious through all of it." Kit explained in a monotone voice. She was thinking about it, and how it proved how screwed up society was.
The squad took a moment to process what she said. They all had to realize the fact that, she wasn't wrong.
"You're right. That is why we have to do our best to represent Class 1B during the Sports Festival!" Monoma exclaimed, having found a burst of determination.
"Yeah!" Testutestutestu agreed, pumping his fist in the air.
"Let's show the world!" Kendo yelled.
Kit just looked at her fellow students, knowing their efforts would be meaningless. It is eerily similar as to how Izuku, Shinso, and her were trying to change society for the better, but they were smart enough to realize they wouldn't see their efforts even if they did become pros.
People saw the bad, focus on it, worry over it, change because of it.
The good just gets overlooked. Look at the heroes for example, stopping villains has become normal in the public's eyes.
But villain attacks never get old.
(Shinso's POV)
A strange buzz about Mind Trick was going around the classroom. Aizawa-sensei hasn't gotten here yet, so everyone is with their friends happily conversing.
"Did you hear what happened with the villain Mind Trick?" Uraraka asked Iida, Mido, and I.
"No, what happened?" Mido asked, genuinely confused.
"Yeah, what happened Uraraka?" Iida asked as well.
"So, apparently they took out two underground heroes and another villain. They interviewed the two heroes and didn't even find out anything, just the fact that they used a staff and was sarcastic. One of the heroes made it very clear that they were sarcastic, hehe." Uraraka explained to us.
What did you do Yasu?
I looked to my left to see Aizawa by the door, so I shushed my friends and got to my seat.
"Today is the first day of the UA Sports Festival." Aizawa said lazily after silencing the class. Everyone just shared looks filled with excitement, anxiety, and overall anticipation. "Go get your gym clothes on and prepare."
We all started to file out of the room, heading towards the changing rooms so we could get our outfits. I wonder what the Sports Festival will bring. I studied up on it quite a bit before meeting Mido and Yasu, mostly because I thought I was going to get into General Studies.
I knew there was an obstacle course first, then the second event was random, and then you had 1 vs 1 matches. But that is it.
After we all got ready we were shuffled into the stadium. Once we got there we could really see how many people were actually there. It was insane. We had already spoke with general studies, so e knew that they would be there, but the support classes was there as well. There were easily over 150 people there, if not more. And then I looked up.
There was at least 1000 people in the 'audience.'
Now, that means at least 2000 eyes watching us while we work as hard as we can to make our mark. I mean, it isn't all that different than what Yasu, Mido, and I do as Mind Trick, but it is unnerving knowing they are all right there watching you.
Speaking of Mind Trick, I bet at least half of the people here have heard of them. Which means that we are making our mark out there, slowly but surely.
The Pro Hero Midnight got onto a makeshift stage in the center of the stadium to finally announce what was going to happen. She called Bakugo to give a speech before everything started too.
This was going to bad.

So, warning, this chapter is probably really bad but that is because I am writing from memory for this, so yeah. I remember the actual obstacle course, the team thingy, and the matches best though. This is kind of a filler chapter that is part of the Sports Festival arc, lol.
