Chapter 35
Hi!
I know that updates are few and far between right now, but my school just started back and I am currently having to juggle six courses. I made an A on my first exam!
Please understand.
I will try to update as regularly as possible!
Bye!

"You're my confetti."
Even now those words rang in your ears as you stared out at the snow-covered hillside, cold wind nipping at your rosy cheeks as it blew through the empty tree branches.
Although your feet were planted in it's soil, your mind was far from MiddleTown.
You wanted to run.
Even if it was the cowardly thing to do.... Even if you'd be leaving behind your friends-the people you cared for...you wanted to leave this place and run to the man you had missed more than anything...
But you couldn't run-you wouldn't run.
Not when so much was on the line...not when so many others depended upon you to make the right decision.
After Jimin has told you that the man who had come back to you wasn't Taehyung...You needed to take a moment to breathe.
The cold winter outside was a comfort to you. The silence that the snow brought made you feel somewhat at peace with yourself and the people surrounding you.
Were you selfish for wanting to leave? Yes. You supposed you were...Selfish to want to run into the arms of a man you didn't even know...You wanted more than anything to believe that he was Taehyung...but you weren't stupid...
It is true what they say...ignorance is bliss.
In times like this, wouldn't it be better to just play along and act like nothing is bothering you? Wouldn't things be simpler if you were able to pretend like the man in the inn was really your Taehyung?
So many questions filled your mind.
Who was he? Why was he pretending to be someone he wasn't? Why did he look like Taehyung?
Nothing was connecting.
Maybe it was your tired mind, or maybe you were simply missing something....but nothing seemed to click into place.
If you would just run...things would be easier.
It isn't as though things weren't difficult before...after all, when you figured out you were The Keeper, things began to take a turn for the worst.
How could you be responsible for all of this? Had you arrival been the cause of all the trouble everyone was facing? Would it have been better if you had simply stayed away from everyone?
A heavy sigh left your cold lips as you shook your head.
You needed a break.
"You'll catch your death like this."
You didn't move as a familiar figure approached you, his hands shoved into his pockets as he moved to stand beside of your shivering form.
"It's better than being in that place." You muttered to yourself.
Seokjin hummed, eyes scanning your features.
"I overheard what Jimin said this morning..." He huffed. "How are you taking it?"
You shook your head, allowing a sad laugh to escape you.
"I'm just peachy."
The blue-haired man bit his lip at your response.
The unspoken words that drifted between the two of you were apologetic and harsh...He missed you. You hated him.
Well, that wasn't entirely true.
He knew that no matter how badly he screwed up...you could never hate him...your friendship was too deep for that.
"Y/n..." He breathed. "I'm-I truly am sorry...for-for what I did...for the things I said to you..."
You let out a soft sound of acknowledgment at his confession.
"Honestly, after everything that's happened...that seems like such a stupid thing to be mad about."
Seokjin's eyes widened slightly at you words, a hand running through his blue locks.
"S-Still," He said. "I need to apologize. What I said to you-what I did to you...it isn't acceptable. I just want us to be friends again...like we used to be."
You couldn't stop your eyes from moving to meet his, a small fog leaving your mouth as your warm breath met the cold, winter air.
"Like it used to be?" You asked. "I don't even know if that's possible anymore. Nothing is like it used to be, Jin...And that's the problem."
His eyes fell as he nodded along with you. There was no anger in your tone...only a sad calm as you spoke to him softly.
"I wish we'd never come here." He huffed out. "It would have been easier if Yoongi had never made that stupid wish."
You shook your head, eyes scanning over the snow-covered field that you stood in.
"Don't say that." You said. "I think this place has been good for us-for all of us."
Jin laughed coldly.
"How can you say that?" He asked. "After everything that we've been through? We've almost died more times than I care to count...I miss home. I miss my parents-I miss my life."
"If we hadn't come here, I'd still hate Yoongi and the two of you would still be constantly screaming at one another...I think we've all changed since being here and it's for the best."
He stared at you incredulously.
"You've really changed, Y/n." He breathed out. "When we first came here, you wanted nothing more than to go home...Now, I can't help but think you may actually want to stay in this place."
You raised a brow at his words.
"And if I do?" You asked. "If I want to stay here?"
His brows furrowed at your words, body moving closer to yours.
"Then I'll stay too."
You weren't expecting that.
You remained in silent awe as he offered a sad smile.
"I do miss our world," He continued, pulling on his blue hair. "But my home will always be with you....Even if you hate me...I won't-I can't leave you..."
Your mind began to race as numerous emotions presented themselves to you, his words constantly ringing in your ears.
You weren't childish enough to hate him because he slept with your enemy...maybe a few days ago, you never would have considered talking to him again...but after everything that has happened...it would be foolish to lose someone so close to you.
You cared about Jin....and at one point, you think you may have even loved him...Letting yourself push him away was not a valid option.
His eyes widened as your lips came into contact with the cool skin of his cheek, delivering a soft peck onto his face.
"Thank you." You breathed out.
Seokjin reveled in the feeling of your warmth, his heart pounding at your close proximity as his eyes fluttered shut in what he could only describe as pure bliss.
"I-"He grabbed your hand, blue eyes crashing against your own. "I love you."
Although you had already known...hearing him say those words caused your breath to hitch in your throat.
What were you supposed to say?
Did you love him? Did you want to be with him?
You mind kept going back to that night at the castle...the night when Taehyung kissed you and fireworks surrounded the both of you in the dimly lit room.
You swallowed hard.
"J-Jin-"
A soft chuckle moved past your best friend's lips as he pulled his hand away from yours, his eyes falling with the heaviest sadness.
"You love him, don't you?" He asked.
You didn't need to ask him to know exactly who he was talking about.
You stayed silent.
What could you say?
You were unsure of your own feelings.
You knew that what you and Taehyung had was special...he made you so happy...but, you couldn't forget about the others...the men who you had tried so hard not to become involved with...Jimin, Jungkook, Namjoon....even Hoseok and Yoongi...
"Maybe you don't know," Seokjin continued. "Maybe you're unsure of what you're feeling...but one thing is for sure...The person you love...he isn't me, is he?"
It broke your heart to listen to him speak so forlornly. All of your life, Jin had always been there to cheer you up and make you feel appreciated....now there was no trace of his usually cheerful self...only the shell of a man you once knew.
"I'm sorry." You breathed out, not knowing what else to say. "I-I don't know what I'm feeling."
The blue-haired man shook his head, hand wiping his dampened cheeks.
"Don't be." He consoled. "I-I suppose I knew this was coming...I knew I couldn't get away with hurting you."
"Jin, that's not-"
He smiled sadly.
"I was joking, Y/n."
A soft smile pulled on your features as you stared at him, trying your best not to break down right then and there as his hand moved to rest on your shoulder.
"If-If you're happy..I will be too." He said. "I only want you to be happy."
His words, once again, caused your mind to drift back to Taehyung.
You frowned.
"Do you think we'll be able to save him?" You said.
Seokjin hesitated for a moment before answering.
"I don't know." He stated honestly. "When Namjoon finds out that the man in there isn't Taehyung, I'm not sure what he'll do..."
You ran a hand through your hair.
"I shouldn't have left." You stated. "I should have stayed with him. I wish...I wish I was there with him now...anything would be better than not knowing."
Seokjin opened his mouth to speak, but cut himself off as his eyes took in the bright blue glow of his hands.
"Y-Y/n.."
Your eyes widened slightly as he took a step towards you, the ground beneath you beginning to shake just as it did when you first came here.
Seokjin squeezed his eyes shut as a strong gust of wind surrounded the two of you, his hands raising to point in your direction.
"What's-What's happening?" He asked strenuously.
You swallowed hard as his hands cradled your head, the cold wind almost knocking the two of you over.
"I-I think you're granting my wish."
His eyes widened at that.
"What?" His voice cracked. "No!"
You watched as he tried to pull his hands away from you, the glowing blue light only becoming brighter.
"No, no, no, no!"
You could feel yourself being pulled away from him, vision beginning to blur as the wind grew more and more powerful.
You'd be lying if you said you weren't terrified in that moment. The feeling of not knowing what would happen next had your head reeling.
Jin's pleas were the last thing you remember hearing before you consciousness was removed from his presence.

A loud gasp left your lips as your body shot up, eyes wide open with anxiety and fear as your chest heaved with heavy breaths.
All of your memories came flooding back to you in waves, constantly replaying in your mind.
Oh crap.
You blinked in surprise as you took in your surroundings.
The room you sat in was completely white and void of any kind of color...it was bleak and in some strange way terrifying.
You couldn't explain it, but you almost felt as though this place was familiar-a place you had been countless times before even though you were sure you'd never seen anything like this.
Your hands were trembling, which confused you...you assumed that maybe your body was just in shock from the sudden teleportation.
"Darling?"
Your body froze.
The voice that filled your ears had your entire being ready to shut down.
A warmth rushed over your body as you slowly turned your head to find the person who had made your body react in such a way.
The man sat in the corner of the room, his tangerine locks sticking up in numerous directions as his multicolored eyes took in your form in awe, his breathing slowly beginning to increase as his chest heaved underneath his tattered clothes.
There was no questioning in your mind. No hesitation as you finally spoke his name.
"Taehyung."
