"Hey."
Your eyes shot up at the familiar voice that filled your ears, expression remaining neutral as you watched him stuff his hands in his pockets nervously.
"Hey."
Your eyes moved back to the town that slept beneath you, your head resting against the frame of the open window, allowing the cold wind to blow through your h/c locks.
After Jimin blew up at you, you decided that you needed some time to yourself...You knew that he was upset with you and you should probably go and comfort him...you wanted to tell him that he was wrong...
But in that moment you were just tired of chasing after people. You needed a few moments to sit in silence and think about your next move...after all, this was a life changing decision...You shouldn't have to jump into it right away...not when everything is so complicated.
Yoongi frowned as the cold air hit his face, eyes softening.
He knew that things between the two of you were a bit tense...and even a little bit awkward...well, a lot awkward, considering that his brother had told you that he was literally in love with you..
The two of you hadn't spoken much since that night at the castle....It almost felt as if you were avoiding him...even among all the recent chaos, you found a way to ignore him...which he understood.
If he were in your position, he'd do the exact same thing...after everything he had done to you in the past...he was surprised you even put up with him until now.
"You're going to catch a cold." He stated softly, sitting next to you on the window seat.
You shrugged your shoulders, eyes never leaving the town below you, eyes watching as the white snow fell.
The raven-haired man frowned at your silence, his mind struggling to come up with ways to communicate with you.
"Jimin.."He paused as you turned to face him. "Jimin was out of line."
You swallowed hard.
"Do you really think so?" You asked.
"Of course." He answered, brows furrowing at your question. "He shouldn't have blown up at you like that...even if you are...his mate."
Your eyes shot to his in surprise.
"How did you-"
"Jungkook told us." He interrupted. "He said he thought it would be best if we all knew."
You nodded your head in understanding.
"What if he was right?" You breathed. "What if I'm just overthinking this? What if I'm just being selfish?"
Yoongi tilted his head.
"What do you mean?"
You sighed heavily, resting your chin on your knees.
"It's not his fault that I'm his mate." You stated. "I mean...my decision-it doesn't just effect me...it effects him too...If I reject him, he could die...if I put it off, he could turn feral or become a wolf forever...but if I mate with him-"
"Y/n." Yoongi scolded softly. "This is a life-changing thing. It's not selfish that you're taking time to think about it. It's not selfish if you choose to reject him....It's your decision. He will have to accept that."
You glanced at him.
"And what if he dies?" You asked. "What if-What if my selfishness kills him? How could I live with myself knowing that I let him die simply because I couldn't grow up enough to be ready for such a big commitment?"
Yoongi placed a hand on your cold, rosy cheek, eyes boring into yours.
"This doesn't just effect the two of you." He stated. "If you let him mark you, you would have to stay in this world...forever...You'd never see your parents again. You'd never be able to go home to them and explain what happened to you...you'd never be able to have a normal life again...Did you ever stop to think that maybe Jimin is the one who should be considering your feelings?"
You moved away from his touch.
"He is." You deadpanned. "I know it may not seem like it, but Jimin cares about me...I know he would never mark me without my consent..I'm almost positive he doesn't want to mate me at all...I don't think he wants to force me into something like that...and knowing that.....it makes me feel even worse."
"So that's it then?" Yoongi asked, tone turning cold for a brief moment. "You're going to let him mark you?"
You shook your head.
"What other choice do I have?" You asked sadly.
"And what about the rest of us?" He asked. "What about me, Jin and Hoseok? Are you just going to force us to go back home without you while you're living an unhappy life here?"
You frowned.
"Jimin could make me happy." You stated. "I care about him..and he cares about me-"
"Do you love him?" He interrupted.
Your eyes widened slightly at the question, heart sinking to your stomach.
You thought the answer was no.
A few days ago, you would have certainly claimed not to love the blond-haired prince...but now...you couldn't seem to reject the idea.
"I don't know." You answered truthfully.
Yoongi nodded his head in understanding, containing his emotions surprisingly well.
He wanted nothing more than to scream at you not to do this. He wanted to tell you exactly how much he loved you. He wanted to fall on his knees and beg you to be with him...But he wouldn't do that anymore...that was the old him and he was changing for you...
"And Taehyung?" He whispered.
Your breath hitched in your throat at the mention of the hatter's name.
You hesitated for a few moments before answering.
"I-I don't know." You breathed. "Is it possible to love more than one person?"
Yoongi let out a soft chuckle.
"I wouldn't know," He whispered, eyes scanning over your features. "I've only loved one person my entire life."
Your head snapped in his direction, his intense gaze causing you to freeze in your spot.
"Y-Yoongi I-"
"Relax." He mumbled with a smile, ruffling your hair. "I'm not going to make a big deal out of it. You have too many things to stress over already."
You smiled softly at his actions.
"Thank you, Yoongi." You said.
He offered you a gummy smile.
"I know, I know," He cooed. "I'm awesome."
You raised an eyebrow.
"I wouldn't take it that far." You chided. "Let's just say, you're not as annoying as usual right now."
Yoongi hummed, gently stroking your cheek.
"You say that now," He started. "But I know...
I'll hook you someday."
______________________________________________________________________
A long sigh left your lips as you wondered down the wooden stairs of the inn, bare feet causing the wooden floorboards to creak beneath you as your eyes searched for the entrance to the kitchen.
After your brief talk with Yoongi, the two of you watched the snow fall together, until you eventually fell asleep on Yoongi's shoulder.
When you woke up in your bed, you were confused at first, but after realizing that Yoongi carried you to sleep, the growling in your stomach began to take top priority.
You were starving. You had been too stressed to eat anything before especially when everything happened with Jimin and Jungkook.
You had never seen the two men fight like that...It made you feel terrible to know that you were the cause of it.
They were some of the closest people you had ever known. They loved and cared for one another...something that you had craved ever since you were little....
You pulled open the cabinet, a small loaf of bread catching your eye as your stomach growled.
"Hungry?"
You let out a squeak at the new voice that suddenly filled the air, hand moving to rest over your chest in surprise.
Namjoon chuckled as he munched on the piece of jam-covered bread that he held in his hands.
You sent him a playful glare as you grabbed the loaf, Namjoon offering you a knife from his belt.
"Why are you dressed?" You asked, taking in his appearance.
Namjoon took another bite, shrugging his shoulders.
"I'm keeping watch." He stated. "Red Knights could come any minute...the snow covered our tracks and scents...but that doesn't mean they won't come looking eventually."
You nodded your head...spreading the strawberry jam across your own piece of bread.
"So what's the plan now that we're all here?" You asked,
Namjoon shrugged his shoulders.
"I'm not sure." He sighed. "We can't go up against an army..."
You frowned, munching on your bread.
"We can't just sit here either." You stated. "Even if we have no plan....We can't just leave Taehyung alone...I won't go any further without him."
The green-eyed hunter nodded in understanding, taking another bite of his food.
"I wouldn't ask you to," He breathed. "If we can somehow manage to find another way into the castle...one where we won't be so open and compromised...maybe we'd be able to sneak in and bring him back to safety."
"There's a tunnel." You said. "It leads underneath the courtyard...We escaped through that way."
Namjoon furrowed his brows, rubbing his chin.
"We might be able to-"
"Namjoon?"
Your head snapped up at the deep voice that suddenly interrupted the hunter, brows furrowing as your eyes searched around for the source of the voice.
Namjoon ceased speaking, confusion falling on his features as he took in the sight of a familiar silhouette in the darkness.
"Uhm...Yes?"
You swallowed hard as you watched the man step forward, into the dim light, a black cloak covering his face.
Your brows furrowed as you struggled to get a good look at the stranger's face.
Namjoon subtly placed his hand on the hilt of his sword, moving to stand in front of you.
"What business do you have with me?" He asked.
"I have missed you, old friend."
Namjoon frowned as the stranger grabbed his hood, pulling it down to reveal his face.
A gasp left your lips, eyes widening as your knees began to buckle.
Namjoon took a deep breath as his green orbs scanned over his face, removing his hand from his sword as he stepped forward.
"Taehyung."
The orange-haired man nodded, offering a wide, square smile as he stared at the hunter, multicolored eyes drifting over to you as his smile widened.
"That's me." He confirmed, moving in your direction. "I'm back..
And I have missed you so much."
