No one made a sound as we all stared at my snarling mate. My team didn't say anything due to the fact that he isn't our Alpha and they feel as though they would over stepping their boundaries if they take over the search for the young ones even though Sammy is one of the pups that are missing.

I smiled a little when Aquila Reed, the former Beta, stepped forward and bowed slightly. I guess the rest were too scared to speak to the unstable Alpha.

"Alpha, the children were outside playing like we usually allow them to do when the northern winds carried the scent of rogues to us. My son sent out warriors and our Delta to assess the situation and fight if needed when we were attacked in the southern side of the territory" He explained

Now that my initial panic is over, I feel calm and ready to work. While Former Beta Reed was talking, I took in his appearance. He hasn't changed much in the years I've been gone. Yes, he looks older but he still has that welcoming but stern aura around him; like he would comfort you when you're down but he's not afraid to knock some sense into you at the same time.

"A few warriors and I, with the company of Simon and Gabriel, went to eliminate the threat seeing as their numbers were great, so we needed their help. Rebekah, Daniel and Jacob helped move the women, omegas, elders and the children to the basement when they were ambushed" His son, the current Beta, Benjamin continued

Now that they're standing side by side, you would think that they were brothers instead of father and son. They looked so much alike that they would be mistaken as twins if it weren't for the fact that Benjamin has blonde hair and Aquila has a few greying hair on his head but they both styled their hair in the same manner; military style buzz cut

"I was setting up a protection spell around the basement so I didn't see much of what had happened upstairs" Rebekah confessed bitterly

She stood glaring into a blank space, hatred deep within her light blue orbs. She hates when bad things happen while in her command. I could feel the self-loathing flowing from her in big waves. I was about to step forward to comfort her when Jacob wrapped his arms around his mate and whispered words into her ears

I turned back to the group when Daniel spoke up. When I entered the office, I didn't take notice of him immediately so it came as I surprise when I saw the bruises that littered his arms, legs and face. There was a bandage wrapped around his torso and I could only imagine what had happened to him.

"I was there when it happened" He choked out, tears falling from his eyes like a great waterfall "I was t-told to get the c-c-children into the house because m-most of the warriors h-h-had g-gone and only three or four h-had stayed behind and they were all busy" He paused to wipe his nose and his eyes.

He was stuttering terribly and it reminded me of the time we had found him many years ago. He was so small, smaller than he was now and because of what he was, half werewolf and half vampire, the orphanage we saved him from didn't feed him as much as the other kids and so that left him to be stick thin. When he spoke, he would stutter every word and sometimes it was hard for him to speak at all.

He was like humpty dumpty and we were the king's horsemen who put him back together again although Simon was the glue that made the pieces stick together.

Now that the guilt of not being able to save the kids from getting kidnapped was eating him inside, he was reeling back to how he was before we had helped him and made him better.

Simon wrapped his big beefy arms around the small slender man, all the while cooing and kissing him tenderly so he would calm down and continue with his tale. We needed to know how the rogues could get past the pack's patrol, the roaming warriors and the barrier spell Rebekah had put up when we had arrived.

It looked like an inside job to me and to confirm my suspicions, Daniel finally calmed down enough to tell us all we needed to know

"Alpha, it was your father" He whispered, looking deep into my Matthew's eyes

If he was angry before, now he was livid. If he was in wolf form, his hackles would've risen to show his rage. His eyes turned black and I knew his wolf was in control. He let out a mighty growl and turned on his heel. He was about to step out of the door when I took a few steps forward to reach him and grab hold of his hand.

His head snapped towards me and just when he was about to say something, I summoned the goddess' power through the onyx crystal hanging off of my neck and gave a small smile to my mate even though he cannot see it

"Sleep" I commanded in a soft voice

Like a sack of potatoes, he fell on the floor with a loud thud. I winced at the sound and turned to face my team with a sheepish expression on my face.

"Oops" I mumbled, feeling bad for unintentionally hurting my mate

"Idiot" Rebekah remarked before sighing and running her hand through her hair while Jake rubbed her back while trying to suppress his smile

Gabriel, chuckling at the sight before him, walked over to Matthew and picked him up bridal style and carried him to the sofa in the middle of the room. If Matthew could see himself now, he would be pissed at being treated like a princess.

Looking away from my sleeping love, I turned to look at Matthew's subordinates, who looked about ready to attack me. Just when Sebastian and Naomi was about to pounce alongside Moses, Aquila stepped forth and raised his hand

"What are you doing, Aquila?!" Moses demanded, glaring at the man stopping him from hurting me, like he could do that. I see he hasn't changed much. Act first and think later. I shook my head and scoffed at that. That is going to kill him in the near future

Upon seeing his father's command, Sebastian stepped back and took on the military stance he had before.

Naomi, just like her father, seethed and glared heatedly at me. If looks could kill, I'd be six feet under by now. I rolled my eyes at the father and daughter. I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree; and after all these years, I prayed that Naomi didn't follow in her father's footsteps but I guess my prayers didn't reach higher than the ceiling.

"If you'd stop for a bloody second and take a look at our Alpha, you'd see that he's in no danger. But I guess you just want a fight, right Moses?" Aquila raised an eye brow at the former Delta.

Moses snapped his eyes towards my sleeping mate and watched him intensely making Aquila roll his eyes. I stifled a giggle and raised an eye brow at him. When he caught my eyes, he winked and motioned for me to speak. I nodded and took a step back, allowing Gabe and Jake to carry my mate to the couch, so he'll be more comfortable.

"First things first, it's good to see you again, Aquila" I said with a smile

He nodded his head with a soft look in his eyes. He walked forward and gathered me in his arms. I wrapped mine around his waist and grinned before pulling back

"I see you've gained weight" I teased

He narrowed his eyes playfully before gently pushing me back and standing up straight; chest puffed out

"Why I outta-"

"What's going on here?" Moses cut him off, an angry expression still on his aging face.

Compared to Aquila, Moses totally looks his age. I guess the years haven't been kind to him

"Dad, how do you know the keeper personally?" Sebastian asked with a curios expression

Aquila was about to reveal my identity to his son and friends when I cut him off. I don't anymore people knowing who I am. It's too much of a risk. The less people know, the better; for them and for me.

"It doesn't matter how we know each other. What is important is the abduction of the children"

Aquila looked at me in confusion but after just a shake of my head, he nodded his in understanding but his eyes tells me that he won't be able to keep it from his son. I just hope that's all he's going to tell.

I turned to Gabriel and began questioning him and the rest of my team

"What do we know so far?"

"Since the kidnapping, we've recovered about 2 children so far; one omega and the other is a warrior's kid. The only ones left are Mary, Micah and Samson. It seems that the children of the top dogs of this pack is the target"

I nodded, absorbing the information

"We already know that the rogues did the kidnapping but it was through Matthias' orders. We believe that he's joined forces with Jeremiah Stewart, the leader of a small group of rogues" Rebekah added

"That was what you call a small group. They probably outnumbered us by a good 30" Moses exclaim

This man is seriously getting to me. Ignoring him, I turn to look at Becca

"Jeremiah Stuart. Are you sure?" I asked, not believing it one bit

Jeremiah was a kind soul. He became a rouge when he was kicked out his pack a few years back. He was an Alpha's second born but that meant nothing to some of the pack members. He was almost raped by the Beta of his pack and while trying to defend himself, he ended up killing the Beta. Totally enraged by the loss of his best friend, his father banished him from the pack and stripped him of his title.

When I found him, he was so broken and lost. He reminded me so much of me when I was at my lowest that I decided to help him. I build him back up, both physically and mentally. When he was good and ready, I let him leave with a promise of starting his own pack with other shifter that had been wronged by the system. He's pack of rouges are one of 5 multi-racial packs in the country; that is after he registers it.

Jeremiah is a Just man and to hear this about him, makes no sense.

She nodded her head solemnly. Jacob continued where she left off

"With David Gill, his second in command, by his side, they're shaping off to be quite a pack. All they need is the thumbs up from the council and they'll be an official pack"

"I know all that but what I want to know is why pull this stunt. He has always wanted a pack of his own. No discrimination, no hate and no violence unless necessary was his motto but this shit was unnecessary" I hissed

"Keeper, I also found something out that would be of interest to you" Gabe started

I glared over at him, waiting for him to continue. He smirked

"His mate is Sasha Fox"

As soon as I heard that name, I smiled to myself

"That's wonderful news"
