Somewhere in the middle of the road surrounded by the forest.....

June's P.O.V.

I was feeling like I'm in some kind of horror, mystery- thriller movie,in the middle of the road, surrounded by forest.... Strange, I know it's night & we are nowhere near the civilization and all.. But it's a forest there have to be some kind of sounds of insects, little animals but there was nothing.. It was creeping me out literally.. But I just can't let that wolf die there,just like that...

I get out of the car & started walking toward the wolf, I was taking my steps slowly and consciously.. I don't know but there was a strong feeling that something is very wrong...

I looked behind me to the car & May & I could clearly see how uncomfortable she was feeling, seeing this situation... I gave her a assuring smile & started walking to the wolf... I was now just 5 feet or maybe it 4 feet away from the wolf... I was able to see his shallow breathing now.. I move forward & when I was half feet away from it so I crouched down and stretched my right hand out to touch the wolf and it suddenly growled making me jerk back & fall on my behind...

"June.." May shouted from the car seeing this, she was quietly watching...

Hearing her shout at me I got back in my senses...

"I-I'm f-fine, don't wo-worry." I tried to reassure her but I'm not sure it worked or not...

Again I stretched my hand and touched the fur of the wolf, but this time it didn't growled or something & I sighed, quite relieved...

I started moving my hand in his fur trying to make him comfortable, & it was working very much.... After 2-3 minutes later when I was sure he wouldn't hurt me, I started searching for his wounds.. Searching for more than five minutes, but I couldn't see the wounds, I was getting quite frustrated... Suddenly a shadow fell there near me... My eyes got bigger...

"Aaaaahhhhhhh............"

"Aaaaaaahhhhhhhh.........."

& I screamed loudly making the shadow scream & that wolf to growl... Hearing the voice of shadow I got confused and relieved... & shut my mouth turning to the shadow, which was none other than May....

"May..." I whined..

"June..." She did the same..

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Why did you get out of the car?" I hissed at her furious..

"What? Why are you shouting at me?" She asked me innocently...

"I'm not shouting at you May, I'm just furious at you.."
I said trying to calm my scared poor heart...

"& why are you furious at me? What did I do now?" May asked crossing her arms on her chest while pouting... Awwww my sister is so cute...

She cleared her throat.. & started tapping her foot impatiently...

"Error well I'm furious because there is not only one reason to be furious but 4 reasons...." I told her showing my fingers...

She frowned looking at my fingers & said...

"They are three fingers..."

I looked at my fingers and quickly added one more finger & gave her a look saying see they are now four....

"Argh you cheated, that's cheating....." She stomped her feet...

"Nope. It's not called cheating, it's called realization.." I said..

"Argh!! fine what are those four reasons? & I'm letting this go this time because I'm hungry..." She said rolling her eyes...

"Damn yes, I'm hungry too..." I muttered quietly....

"Anyway the reasons are....

1) you scared the hell out of me...

2) you said you didn't wanted to help the wolf then why did you come?

3) it's dangerous out here &

4) I don't remember what's the fourth reason..."

I told her...

"That's not good..." May said slowly...

"What?" I asked her..

"You forgetting things, is not good... You are having short term memory loss or something? You didn't tell me you are sick? I'm your sister June... We have to get you to the hospital.." With that she started pulling me from my hand...

"May!!! What are you talking I'm fine... I don't have any kind of sickness or anything, I didn't forgot anything, it just there was no fourth reason, I couldn't find fourth reason...." I told her matter of fact...

Her lips form in silent oh means O shape... & I nodded quietly....

& we started laughing....

Suddenly there was a big growl.... Which made us stop our laughing & we looked toward the source of the growl... Which is coming from the wolf... Whom we clearly forgot in the bickering of us....

"Damn it" May muttered..

"Double damn it" I said looking at the wolf...

"We totally forgot about him." I told to May...

"Hmmmm..." May hummed in response...

We both got on our knees and started looking for his injuries... But it's strange there was not a single scratch...

"There is nothing May, no injury, not even a single scratch.." I said quite confused....

"Hmmm... Maybe there is some internal injury, like some fracture or internal bleeding... It happens sometime due to the hard impact of cars metal hitting him without scratching the external skin..." May explained...

I listened clear fully....

"Now what?" I asked her...

"I don't know, we have to take him to the hospital... But he is in a quite pain... We have to give him painkillers and anesthetic.... Painkillers so we could numb his pain & anesthetic to so he won't attack on us when we are taking him to the hospital..." May further explained...

"Wow!!! May? You are quite smart, I never thought you could be that smart..." I complimented her...

"Thank you June!!! It means a lot to me... Now go & get the first aid box from the car..."

"Okay, I'll be back in a minute.." I told her while getting up from the ground...

I started running towards the car, after getting to the car I opened the car door & started searching for the first aid box... & I found the first aid, I was getting out of the car when I heard the little scratching voice & I stopped. It was like someone scratching their nails on the car roof? I gulped & looked at the roof of the car which looked like something heavy is on it... I slowly got out of the car while looking at my feet... After getting two to three feet's away from the car I slowly raised my head and looked at the top of the car & boy I wished I didn't... My breath was sucked out of me... There was sitting o top of the car & scratching the roof of it was the gray wolf from earlier.... It's drool was flowing from it's mouth like it was some Niagara fall....he was showing his big canines.... Which made me gulp again....

I started moving backward slowly & the wolf perked his ears up & growled which made me stopped in my tracks...

"May?" I tried calling May but it just a barely more than whoosh came out from my mouth, I cleared my throat quietly and tried again...

"MAY?.."

I think hearing my voice & the panic behind it May run to me & stopped front of me...

"Huh? What happened? Why are you standing here like a statue? Did you get the first aid? What? Why are you not talking?-..."

I point my fingers towards the wolf which made stopped her questioning & confused she turned to the car & I swear heard her breath hitching.....

We looked towards each other & gulped.. We started moving backwards... We're getting away from him & feeling little relieved only if...

Only if we haven't heard the growling from behind & we froze.. We couldn't move no matter how much we wanted to.. It didn't took us more than a second to realize that what is growling behind us.. Still we both looked behind & gasped quite loudly, there stood the brown wolf perfectly fit & fine..it was like he wasn't even injured and laying there lifeless on the ground? For a moment I don't know about May but I was questioning my sanity..

"Am I getting insane?" May asked..

Well looks like I'm not the only one who is quite concerned about their sanity..

"Maybe I'm dreaming?.." May started again..

I pinched her arm...

"Ouch!! Hell June.." She cried.

"For that you have to sleep, so no you are not dreaming.." I said smirking at her which she returned with a scowl & a pout...

Maybe the wolves were getting frustrated, irritated with us so they decided to make it sure to show us by pouncing on us... We screamed and jump out of the way which made them collide with much force on each other....

It was funny to see but the time wasn't funny at all. After regaining there senses back which I'm sure they don't have. They started growling and advancing on us. May & I started running but those wolves were faster than us. They jumped in front of us, I started looking for something or someone to help us.. But the road and the forest was quite deserted. While I was looking for the help I didn't notice the gray wolf jumping on me,May screamed and push me away which resulted in me falling on the ground and May falling in front of the gray wolf, he trapped her under his body. I got from the ground, so did the wolf and he opened his mouth and for a second thought he is going to bite May's face off but he had something else in his mind... He step little back & I felt relieved that he is not going to hurt my sister.. But I was very wrong he raised his paw in the air and slammed it on May's foot with so much force that it broke her bone.

"Aaaarghhhh June!!!!" May screamed.

May's screaming and the sound of bone cracking was heard in the silence of forest... I got out of the shock and ran to them and I jumped on his back hitting him on his head and back with my fists... While doing that I didn't see the brown wolf coming to me. I raised my fist in the air to hit the wolf hard, before I could hit the gray wolf, brown wolf caught my hand in his jaw & flung me towards the nearest tree... All the breath was knocked out of me.. I vision got blurry, it felt like I'm dying... Everything was blurry, I tried to clear my vision and cleared after few seconds later. I looked towards May, thankfully she wasn't trapped under the wolf but trying to crawl away from those wolves. They both were advancing at her. I tried to get up from the floor but I couldn't, every part of my body was hurting so badly.

I looked around me, there must be something which could help us. I found a broken branch of the tree. I crawl to the branch and got it, with the help of broken branch and tree I got up & started walking towards those wolves. Fortunately they both were looking at May, who was trying to get away from them as much as possible. I crept on them slowly and was about to hit the gray wolf when the brown wolf to me & pounced on me & started snapping his jaw at me. I tried pushing him off me but the wolf was too heavy. I could hear May screaming at me in the background. Her screams make me try even harder, I couldn't let these rabid dogs hurt her more than already she is, with that thought in my mind I hit that brown wolf with tree branch on his face. It must have hurt him because immediately got off me & whimpered in pain. Hearing the brown wolf's whimper gray wolf ran to the brown wolf. I took that chance and ran to May, she was still on the ground, blood was coming out of her leg.

"M-May? Baby ar-are you okay?" I was so scared seeing her bleeding.

May hugged me, she was trembling, heck I was trembling too.

"I-I'm fine & you?" She asked her voice trembling..

I just nodded my head in return, we were so busy in checking each other for any serious injuries, that we didn't notice those wolves coming to us.

The gray wolf started walking to us with full rage, we both got alarmed. We could see our death coming towards us. My brain stopped working, it felt like it's our last day on the earth, in this world. May started whimpering and that was enough for me to get out of my shocked state.

That's it I couldn't let my sister die, just like that. I've to do something, I can't just give up on her, on us, on our family.

I looked around for something, for anything & I saw it. I couldn't feel anymore happy than this. It was like god was trying to help us. I picked first aid box & opened it searching for it & finally I found it.

Anesthetic!!! Yes it is our last chance of survival. I took the injection and looked at the wolf which was ready to pounce on us any moment, I got in front of May so that wolf won't pounce on her instead of me.. May was screaming at me to not to do anything stupid but I could careless about me, saving May, my sister was only thing running through my mind.

I was ready for that wolf & this time I'm not going down so easily with that thought I stood firmly. & exactly the way I thought the wolf pounced on me & it made me fall on the ground so hard, that the injection fell out of my hand. I felt like crying, my only chance of saving May & myself was gone.... I closed my eyes for the inevitable death & started reminiscing my whole life which I spent my family, Ma, Papa, Nana, May & even April.....

I waited for the wolf to bite my head off but it never happened, the wolf above me whimpered and fell beside me with a thud.... Which made me open my eyes... & there was my darling sister standing on one leg, injection in one hand....

"June!!" She sighed with relief.

I was so shocked that I couldn't even move, but seeing May trying to balance her weight on one leg I immediately got up & gave her my support.... We both looked at the wolf which were laying unconscious... Then suddenly realizing that there is another wolf we turned to it but it was nowhere to be seen...

Sighing we both hugged each other tightly.

"Are you okay May?" I asked her, looking at her leg.

"Yeah!! Fit & fine, are you okay June?" She asked...

"Me too." I replied quietly..

"May?" I called her...

"Hmmm??" She hummed tiredly.

"I love you" I said smiling st her.

"& I love you more." May giggled.

"Let's get you home, before that wolf gets conscious." I told her...

She nodded her head. & we started walking to our car, I supported her to walk our car, I help her to get in the car, & then I got in the driver sit & started the car, luckily it started on the first try.

With that I started driving, it has been a very long & eventful day after all, I looked at May who looked very tired. Her eyes were drooping from sleep.

"May?" I called her.

She just hummed in reply making me smile..

"Go to sleep, everything is fine now." I said caressing her hair..

After getting some distance away from that place I heard a very disturbing howl, May woke up startled. My heartbeat started beating fast, but I tried to calm myself for the sake of May..

"Ssshhhh!! Sleep, just sleep." I whispered to May & gladly she did...

I looked in rearview mirror and there was that brown wolf standing on the road but I just ignored it & sped up the car.... I just couldn't wait to get home & take a long hot bath & a long sleep......
