Therapy

Julie knocked on her mom's bedroom door. A soft voice told her to come in, so she obliged.

"Oh hi, Julie, do you need something?" Ms. Hunter asked her eldest daughter.

Julie looked down at her feet and fiddled with her hands. She let out a deep breath. She opened her mouth but it took time for the words to actually come out.

"I think I might need to start seeing Dr. Havette again." Julie admitted.

"Oh okay. Of course you can, if you think it'll help." Ms. Hunter smiled.

"I do. I need to move past some things. And I can't do that by ignoring the past." Julie sighed. Ms. Hunter pulled her daughter into a hug.

"Oh, sweetie, I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault." Julie stated.

"It is though." Ms. Hunter sighed. "I should have protected you better. I could have done more."

"Mom, you did your best. And you still are doing your best."

"I'm going to get you a session with Dr. Havette right now. Does that sound okay?"

Juliet relaxed. "Yeah, Mom, that's good. Thanks,"

"You're welcome." Ms. Hunter released her daughter. "I love you so much. You know that right?"

Julie nodded. "I know. I love you too." Julie smiled.

She was going to start seeing a therapist again. Julie grew nervous. Would people start picking on her again? She had no clue what to expect.
