The Week Off: Part 1

Caleb's Uncle's House, Texas

3rd Person POV

Caleb: No, I don't have a crush on one of my coworkers. Duncan just said that to get back at me.

The Southern Juggernaut's uncle laughs. He's the reason the two are friends and is glad to see their usual banter is surviving.

Steve: What'd you do to that poor boy?

Caleb: Why do you always take his side?

Steve: I don't always take his side. I know you very well and normally you did something to deserve what he does to you.

Caleb: I may have gotten him in trouble with Nicole. Anyway, I don't have a crush on anyone.

Steve: He said her name is...Mary? Martha? Mar-

Caleb: Maryse.

Steve: That's right. Wasn't she a champion not too long ago?

Caleb: She was the first two-time Divas Champion.

Steve: And how do you know that?

Caleb: I watched her win it both times.

Steve: Really?

Caleb: You're reading too much into this.

Steve: Am I?

Caleb: Yes. Why do you listen to Duncan, anyway?

Steve: He doesn't lie to me.

Caleb: That's horseshit and you know it.

Winters makes his uncle laugh. While they enjoy their time together, Caleb feels his phone buzz. He picks it up and answers it.

Caleb: Hello there. Who is this?

???: Caleb! Oh thank God!

Caleb: Wait. Maryse? How'd you get my number? More important question: are you crying?

Maryse: Nicole gave it to me. Can we meet somewhere?

Caleb: Where are you?

Maryse: I'm at a hotel somewhere in Houston. I'll text you the address.

The phone buzzes. Winters looks at the address before continuing his conversation with Maryse.

Caleb: That's only about a three hour drive from where I'm at.

He turns away from the phone and looks at his uncle.

Caleb: Hey, do you mind if-

Steve: Just go. And hurry up before traffic gets bad.

Caleb: Thanks, Uncle.

He goes back to talking on the phone.

Caleb: Hey, Maryse, go ahead and hang out there for a minute. I'll be there in about three-and-a-half hours.

Maryse: Can we keep talking? *sob* Please?

Caleb: Of course.

Timeskip

The French Canadian is still on the phone with the Southern Juggernaut as she waits in her hotel room. She was sharing it with Mike, but after they spent the whole day arguing, they decided it was for the best that she stay at the hotel while he goes with the rest of the crew to the next city where RAW is being held.

Maryse, looking out the window: There are so many cars outside. How will I know which one is yours?

Caleb: You'll know. Trust me. What side of the building is the entrance on?

Maryse: I don't know. The west side?

Caleb: Okay. Hang on.

Maryse: What're you doing?...Caleb?

Before she can say his name again, she hears a loud engine from down below. She looks down, sees a large truck, and rolls her eyes. She can't help but wonder who would drive such a big truck or what they would need it for.

Caleb: I'm here. Come down.

Maryse: Okay.

She does as he asks and grabs her bags. She goes down the elevator, checks out of the hotel room, and exits the building.

Maryse: Where are you?

Caleb: You see the silver Camry?

Maryse: What silver Camry?

Caleb: The one the big ass truck is blocking.

Maryse, walking closer: Okay, I see it. Is that you?

Caleb: No. I'm in the big ass truck.

Maryse: That's you?

Caleb: You want me to prove it? Here, cover your ears.

Maryse: What? Why-?

[There should be a GIF or video here. Update the app now to see it.]

She quickly walks over to the large vehicle as Caleb gets out and helps her load up her stuff, laughing as he does. He helps her into the truck before climbing in himself.

Maryse: Was that really necessary?

Caleb, laughing: Absolutely.

Maryse: What is wrong with you?

Caleb: The leading theory is that I was dropped on my head, although Duncan thinks that I suffered brain damage from being blown up.

Maryse, laughing: What is this thing?

Caleb: It is a M939 series 5-ton. This girl got me wherever I needed to be overseas. She's done the same for me since we got back to the States.

Maryse: The Marines let you keep it?

Caleb: I spent a lot of time working on it during my service. They were about to put her on the shelf when I was about to retire from the Corps. My CO knew how much I loved this truck and asked me if I'd like to buy her and take her home with me. I said hell yeah and paid a pretty large amount of money for her.

Maryse: Does she have a name?

Caleb: Her name's June.

Maryse: June?

Caleb: Yeah. I named her after June Carter Cash.

Maryse: Ah. I'm glad June has kept you safe.

Caleb: You and me both.

Timeskip

The two exit the large truck. Waiting outside for them is Caleb's uncle Steve. He walks over to the duo and greets them with a smile. He reaches his hand out to shake Maryse's.

Steve: Hi, I'm Steve. I'm Caleb's uncle.

Maryse: Hello. I am Maryse. I am Caleb's friend.

She looks at Steve carefully. He raises a questioning eyebrow, before smirking. He realizes what's going on and wait for her to put it together.

Maryse: I'm so sorry. You look so familiar. Have we met before?

Steve: I don't think so. I've been around the world a few times. You might've seen me around before. I'm sorry that my nephew picked you up in that truck. I told him to take one of the other cars.

Caleb: June is the safest vehicle we own. Would you have preferred I picked her up on the bike?

Maryse, smiling: It's okay. It was a fun ride.

Steve: I'm glad. Feel free to come inside and look around while we put your bags in the guest room.

They all head into the house. Maryse looks at the different pictures and sees a lot of pictures of the two Juggernauts. They both look very young and not quite as tall as they are now.

Steve: That was taken eleven years ago, I believe. They had only been friends for a few weeks at that point. Most people thought they were brothers.

Maryse: Does Caleb have any siblings?

Steve: Yes, he does. His younger brother Isaiah is currently wrestling in NXT. They keep their younger sister out of the public eye, since she's still in school. They want her to have as much of a normal life someone from a wrestling family can have.

Maryse: So Caleb's the oldest?

Steve: Yes, he is.

The French Canadian smiles as she looks at the pictures on the wall. There is one picture that catches her by surprise. It's a picture of a young Caleb at a WCW show posing with Sting.

Maryse: What's this?

Steve: That's me and Caleb at Starrcade.

Maryse: Wait...so that means you're...

She turns around and sees Caleb's uncle laughing a little.

Steve: I knew you'd figure it out eventually.

Caleb, coming into the room: She figured it out?

Steve: Yes, she did.

Maryse: Why didn't you tell me your uncle is Sting?

Caleb: Because it's not something I go around broadcasting. I wanna make a name for myself and have my own legacy. Who knows, one day I might find myself using his gimmick.

Maryse: You didn't have to hide it.

Caleb: I didn't. If you Googled "Caleb Winters relatives", it would've showed that the Stinger is my uncle.

Maryse: Does Nicole know?

Caleb: I would imagine so. If Duncan didn't tell her that he's Sting, then she only knows him as my Uncle Steve.

Before their conversation can go any further, Caleb's phone buzzes again. This time it's a call from Duncan.

Steve: Somebody's real popular today.

Winters smiles at his uncle's joke before answering his phone.

Caleb: Wassup, Dunc?

Duncan: Hey, man. Since Vince gave us the week off, Nic thinks we should to go to the Bahamas or something. You in?

Caleb: Wait, Vince gave Nicole the week off too?

Duncan: Yeah. She says he told her it was so someone could keep an eye on us.

Maryse: Oh shit!

Caleb: Hang on for one second. (Turns his attention to Maryse) What's wrong?

Duncan: Is that Maryse?

Caleb: Shhh. Now, Maryse, what's wrong?

Maryse: I have to be in Louisiana for RAW tomorrow.

Caleb: Do you think it's a good idea for you and Mike to be at the same shows this week?

Maryse: No. I guess not.

Caleb: Wanna hang out with me, Dunc, and Nicole?

Maryse: What about RAW?

Caleb, talking to Duncan: Hey, can I call you back in a minute?

Duncan: Do what you gotta do, bro.

The Southern Juggernaut hangs up and goes to his contacts. He finds Hunter's number and presses call. After a couple rings, the Game answers his phone.

Hunter: Hey, Winters. I thought we gave you the week off.

Caleb: I'm not calling about myself. I'm speaking on behalf of Maryse. She and Mike are going through some shit right now and she thinks it's best if she takes some time off.

Hunter: I see. We've noticed they've been fighting a lot more than usual backstage. Some more time apart might help them out. I want you to keep an eye on her, okay? I know you're close with Mike, so the company is trusting you to keep her safe.

Caleb: You have my word, nothing will happen to her.

Hunter: Now go enjoy your week off. See you next Monday.

Caleb: See ya then, boss. (Turning to Maryse) So, you wanna spend another week with the Divas Champion and the Juggernauts?

Maryse smiles and nods. Winters does his signature smirk while he calls Duncan back through FaceTime.

Caleb: Everything's set. We're in.

Duncan: Great. We're on our way to pick you guys up right now. You guys might have to share a room again. Is that okay with y'all?

Caleb: I got no problem with it.

Maryse: It's fine with me. He is a great roommate.

Duncan: Aww, how sweet. The French Canadian likes the Southern Juggerna-

Winters hangs up the phone before Duncan can continue his mocking. The first two-time Divas Champion and the Icon both smile at WWE's Man in Black, who looks up at them confuse.

Caleb: What?

Maryse: Have they always been like this?

Steve: Pretty much.

Timeskip

Everyone's favorite group of four exit the rental car and stand in front of an airport. They grab their bags and Duncan and Nicole start making their way to the large building, not noticing that Maryse and Caleb aren't following them.

Duncan: Did I ever tell you how much I hate this part of going on vacation with you?

Nicole: Every time we go.

Duncan: Then why do you always choose somewhere we have to fly to?

Nicole: I like to watch you freak out.

Duncan: That's just mean. Not even Winters is cruel enough to do that.

Caleb: That's true. One question though, why are we heading toward the building?

Duncan: Because that's where the flight you booked is, dummy.

Caleb: Dummy? Didn't you notice we're parked right next to a big ass aircraft? Y'know, the one I said I was getting for us?

The couple turns around and sees the large aircraft he's referring to.

Duncan: How the hell did I miss that?

Caleb: You got me. Maybe you need your eyes checked.

They walk over to the large aircraft and go to the ramp at its rear. Waiting on the ramp are the pilot and copilot. They shake Caleb's hand before the three turn to face the rest of the group.

Caleb, pointing at the pilots: This is retired Army Captain Hawke and this is retired Army Captain Santini. They've been flying since the '80s. They even flew a prototype helicopter, but I'm not sure what happened to it.

(A/N: If anyone gets this reference, they will be my new favorite person.)

Maryse: How did you meet them?

Caleb: I saved their asses in a joint operation. They told me that I could cash in a favor anytime I wanted. Let's get going.

Santini: In the unlikely event of an emergency, follow the big Marine.

Everyone smiles as they climb into the large interior. They take their seats and get ready for take off. Winters notices that Blake looks nervous and decides to help calm his friend down as they take off.

Caleb: Hey, Dunc, I'm as afraid of flying as you are. I wouldn't have chosen this specific aircraft or these specific pilots if it wasn't safe, man.

Duncan: It's not that...I...it's just...I hit my head when I went to sit down and I've been trying to act like it didn't happen.

Caleb, laughing: Yeah, that shit hurts. It's alright, you'll live.

Timeskip

Once they reach the island and get to the rental house, they pick their rooms.

Duncan: I guess I miscounted the rooms earlier. There are three bedrooms, so you two won't have to share a room again.

The French Canadian and the Southern Juggernaut nod. Maryse has a smile on her face, but she only has it on to hide the sinking feeling she got in her chest. Rooming with Winters was some of the most fun she's had and she was really looking forward to being able to do so again.

Caleb: As long as I'm far away from your room, I'll be happy.

Duncan: We're not that loud.

Caleb: I've heard artillery shells fire and explode quieter than y'all's "reward sessions".

Nicole: Then you better put on some headphones tonight. My baby flew willingly and rented this beautiful place for us.

The Bella Twin gets really close to Duncan. As she speaks, she slowly rubs hands up and down his chest. The Juggernaut snakes both arms around Nicole.

Duncan: When do I get my reward?

Nicole: It's ready when you are.

Duncan smiles and kisses her, grabbing her ass with both of his hands. Nicole moans as they start making out. Maryse and Caleb are surprised by the sight before them and can't seem to move.

Caleb, whispering to Maryse: Really? Right in front of us?

Maryse, whispering back: It's so...strange. Like finding the porn channel when you're just scrolling through the TV.

Caleb: We should leave them be.

Maryse: I know...I just can't look away.

The couple continue to passionately make out, not caring about their surroundings at all. As they make out, Nicole's hand wanders south. Right when she touches the front of Duncan's pants, Caleb grabs Maryse's arm and pulls her away from the scene.

Maryse, laughing: What're you doing?

Caleb: Saving our eyes.

Winters runs as far down the hall as he can before he pulls Maryse into one of the bedrooms. He lets go of her and quickly shuts the door. He leans against the large piece of wood as he catches his breath.

Maryse: How'd you know there was a bedroom at the end of the hall?

The Southern Juggernaut opens his eyes and looks around the room. He sees the furniture in it and raises his eyebrows in surprise.

Caleb: I didn't. I just went for the furthest door.

Maryse, smiling: Really?

Caleb: Yeah. I thought it was a damn bathroom or a closet.

Maryse, laughing: You ran pretty fast. Has this happened before?

Caleb: Yeah. One time they were going at it while I was in the next room. I had headphones in and couldn't hear them, so you could imagine the surprise I got when I tried walking through the living room to get to the kitchen.

Maryse laughs again. Winters likes hearing her laugh. Something about it is like a drug to him, and he just wants to hear it more and more.

Caleb: I just wanted some water. Did I get any water? Nope. Did I get to see more of my best friend than I would've liked? Oh yeah. Some things can't leave the mind, Maryse, and that's on the top of the list right there.

Timeskip

Everyone has gotten settled into their rooms. They all go to lay their heads down and go to sleep, except Nicole and Duncan who prepare to go for another round. Fortunately for the other two, their rooms are far enough away from the couple's room, so they don't hear it. Eventually, everyone drifts off to sleep.

A/N: Thank y'all so much for reading guys. I hope to get part 2 out some time soon. Anyway, thanks for reading. I'll talk to y'all next time.
