Valentines Day Love

I hummed quietly to myself as I prepared breakfast. Since it was a holiday we didn't have to go to the boring meeting today. So I planed on taking full advantage of the opportunity by making Ivan a traditional Russian breakfast this morning. We'll go on a morning walk around the town. Then I have a romantic lunch planed for us at a fancy restaurant in town. Finally, later, we can watch a romantic movie.

I always loved Valentines day. I loved seeing all the couples walking around. People will be spreading their love to one another. It is a day for anyone of any age to celibate. From thw old couple who have been together for forty years to the little school boy confessing his crush to the girl who sits in front of him. It is a day for all the couples.

And I am finally one of them! At last I get to be the one who strolls down the street with my love by my side, holding his hand. We'll spend the day together talking and enjoying each others company. Then, when the day is done we can spend the rest of our time cuddled up. It will be great.

I heard some one cough behind me. I turned around to see Ivan standing in the door way. He looked at me, sleep still in his eyes. His hair was disheveled from sleep and I thought it looked dead sexy.

"Morning Vanya." I greeted him warmly. "Breakfast is almost ready if you want to sit down."

"Hmm. Good morning Fredka." He kissed my cheek. "You seem to be in a particularly good mood this morning. Why is that?"

"Don't tell me you don't know what day it is!" I said with false horror. I had my mouth open with my hand over my heart any everything.

"No. Should I?" He asked with a yawn.

"It's Valentine's day." I dead panned. He stopped mid yawn and looked at me. I almost laughed at the 'oh shit' look on his face. "I can't believe you would forget." I said using all my acting skills to keep a strait face.

He dove for me and pulled me in a hug. "I'm so sorry I forgot!" He said while peppering my face with kisses.

"It's okay. I'm not really mad at you. I was just teasing." I laughed as he set me down.

"Are you sure you're not mad?" He asked me.

I kissed his nose lightly. "I'm sure."

"I will make it up to you later anyways." He promised me.

I giggled and nodded my head. I served us breakfast at the island because I really didn't want to go all the way to the dinning room just for breakfast. I hummed happily as I got into a bite of my food. It tasted great, especially will a dash of hot sauce. I glanced over my plate to see Ivan smiling fondly at me.

"Was up?" I asked him.

"Nothing. I was just wondering how the three of you are doing this morning." He told me.

I chuckled a little. "We're doing just fine Vanya. No need to worry about us." I told him with a smile.

"That is good, and it is my job to worry about all three of you." He nodded his head. "So, do you have anything planed for us today?"

"I thought that later we could go for a walk around town. Just to look at some things, maybe shop a little. Then I have a reservation at a nice restraunt for us for lunch. Afterwards I figured we could just wing it." I told him the plan, a big smile on my face.

"That sounds lovely. Shall we go get ready?" He stood up and offered his hand to me.

"Sure thing. After I put everything up." I turned to the mess.

"I'll clean this up. It's the least o can do after you made us breakfast." He told me as he shooed me out of the kitchen.

"Okay, what ever." I rolled my eyes playfully. "I'll see you up stairs."

I headed up to my room to pick out something to wear. I picked out soemthing warm to wear for our walk. Though it is February the weather can change from nice to snowy in a matter of minutes. I picked out a pair of loose, but not too loose, jeans, a light blue thin sweater, sneakers, and a black pair of the gloves Ivan gave me. I had a black tank top on underneath the sweater, making it look a darker blue. To stay festive I put a cute button on my shirt that said 'love me!'.

I was checking my self out in the mirror when Ivan came into the room. I had my shirt up and was looking at my stomach. It was routine for me to do this in the morning when I got dressed, so he wasn't worried about me thinking I was fat. Instead he often came up behind me to put his hands on my belly, right about where the twins are. I don't know why, but he loves touching my stomach. I guess he likes knowing there is someone in there.

"Are you ready for our walk?" I asked him with a bright smile.

"Just about. I'll meet you down stairs, da?"

"Sure thing." I saluted.

He finally had been backing off with me going down the stairs. I knew be would calm down eventually.

I looked over at Hero who sat next to Lampushka in front of the t.v.. Their kittens played with each other around the coffee table. They ran around the legs and jumped at each other from of the top. It was a sweet sight to watch. I sure am going to miss them when they leave. I've grown fond of having all the kittens with me. I've had them for three months now, so it was no wonder.

But I know they have to go. They need to be with a new family that will love them all. One that will have the time to give them all the attention that they need and deserve. I know they will go to a good home next week. It doesn't make having to give them up hurt any less, but it does help me be willing to give them up.

I heard Ivan coming down the stairs behind me and turned to face him. He looked at me with a concerned look. "Fredka, what is wrong? Why are you crying?"

I hadn't noticed the tears rolling down my face untill he said something. "It's just my stupid hormones making me all emotional and stuff. I'm just think about how much I'm going to miss the kittens when we give them up next week."

"Oh, don't be sad dorogaya. They will each go to a good home that will take care of them." He said with a smile as he wiped the tears from my face.

"I know, I know. Still hurts though. I love them." I said with a small laugh as I watched them play.

"They will go to good homes." He repeated and kissed my forehead.

"Yea, they will." I smiled warmly at them. "Come on. Lets go take that walk."

We walked out of the house and too the car. The town was some way away from here, so we had to take the care. Luckily there is a parking lot for the people who live just outside of town. It was made about thirty years ago, give or take. This way we have a place to put out cars when we want to do some shopping, but don't want to drag our cars everywhere.

I picked a spot that was pretty close to the side walk so if we have bags we don't have to lug them across a parking lot. I checked myself once more in the mirror. Satisfied I steps out of the car.

"Where too Fredka?" Ivan asked me.

"I know this cute little shop just down the street." I said pointing to our left.

"Lead the way." He gestured for me yo go first. "I have been wondering since you suggested it, but why did you want to go out shopping? What do you want to get?"

"I thought we could brows a round a little. Pick up things we need it want. See if maybe their is something for the babies we could get. It's never to early to get a head start on getting baby stuff." I told him with a big smile.

"Da. I suppose you are right. We are going to need a lot of things." He agreed with a small chuckle.

"Double with twins." I said with a firm nod. "We can't get too much in the way of personalized items, but we can still check things out, you know. Get a feel for what we need and want."

"Da. We will need the basics, such as cribs, diapers, and baby wipes." He listed.

"Oh yea. Totally." I agreed as we ducked into a small shop. "I was thinking of maybe asking Sweden to build us a couple because of how good he is a making things like that. He was actually the one who made my dinning room table nearly twenty years ago."

"Really? And it lasted this long?" He asked me impressed.

"Yep. So I know I can get some high quality cribs from him." I laughed. "Look at how cute this is!" I said holding up a small pair of stuffed foxes. One is silver white and the other a sunny gold. They were holding hands by a couple of magnets. In their other hands they held little hearts.

"They are adorable." He chuckled.

"I am so getting them." I exclaimed. "Dude, I have something hilarious to tell you. I mean, you are going to die on the floor laughing." I said excitedly as I checked out.

"Okay, what is it?" He asked me warily. Not that I blamed him.

"So, about two weeks before you moved in Mattie and I were in my bosses office. He wanted to know why you were going to be staying for so long. I tell him, Mattie explains how, and he's in shock. Completely understandable." I say. "Here's the funny part. After he gets over his shock he looks at me and says 'When I told you to get along with him, I didn't mean to have a baby', then Mattie said 'Well, sometimes when you put two cats in a bag they'll fuck instead of fight'. And oh my God, you should have seen his face. It whent bright red."

"That is very funny Fredka." He laughed and opened the door for me.

"Thanks. I thought you would get a laugh out of it." I grinned. I've been wanting to tell him for a while now, I just kept forgetting. "Wanna go for a walk around the park before we get some lunch?"

"Da, that sounds nice." He nodded his head.

"Sweet. It's just down this block." I pointed as I picked up my place. "It's very beautiful, especially in the spring and summer when a the flowers are in full bloom. And people are allowed to swim in the pond so long as we keep it clean.

"It sounds fun. It will be a great place to bring our little ones when they arrive." He smiled as he pulled me closer. I blushed lightly, but a small grin was on my face.

"Oh yea. It has a swing set, slides, a small jungle gym, and a Mary go round." I told him happily. "I love coming here after meetings to calm down. It's so peaceful."

"It is lovely here, and I'm sure it is even more so in the warmer months." He told me as he looked around. A proud smile was on my face from how much he seemed to enjoy it. "How old is this park?"

"It's pretty new to be honest. It was just put up about ten years ago by this guy. He was a teen really. He had just turned 18 three months before this took place." I started to explain to him, the proud smile on my face becoming bigger. "He bought a scratch off ticket for 15,000, but unlike a normal teen, who would have bought a car or something, he petitioned to have park built in the city. It initially costed 21,567 to build, so he set up three different fundraisers to reach the money he needed to build the park. One year later his little sister, who was only ten at the time, was cutting the ribon to open the park to the public."

Fondness and pride swelled my heart as I recounted the story. I was so proud of him for his act of kindness and selflessness that gave his entire city a place to take their kids to bond or to bring a loved one.

"That is a very sweet story, but why didn't he cut the ribon?" Ivan asked with a tilt of his head.

"He died a month prior to the completion of the park. I don't remember what it was, but he was really sick. The doctors did all they could, but it was a losing battle." Sadness laced my voice as I told him. My smile turned bitter sweet as I looked around the beautiful park. "That was the reason why he built the park you know. As a final goodbye gift for his sister. He wanted to make sure that she would always have a place to run to if things got hard."

"That is very sad. I'm sorry that you had to lose such a good person. I do hope his sister is doing well." He told me as he kissed my cheek.

"She is. She's head of the park now." I grinned up at him. "Her and her team make sure everyone in the park is safe and fallows the rules. They maintain the flowers, take care of garbage cans, and do basic safety checks on the playground area every spring." I told him.

We have just come to the small playground. It was pretty cute really. It was caterpillar and butterfly themed, so everything had one on it or was made up of it. The slide was a really long caterpillar. The swings were decorated with butterflies. The jungle gym had both on it and so does the mary go round. I walked over to the swing set and sat down.

"Oh." He said and I looked up at him. He pointed to my chest. "I just noticed your button."

"Oh, yea, I put that on earlier to be festive for the day." I laughed as I looked at it. "Charlotte gave it to me last year."

"That was really sweet of her." He smiled at me as he sat down on the other swing. "What do you plan on telling her? You can't exactly tell her the truth."

"I thought about that and decided to just tell her I'm trans." I shrugged. I kicked my feet, making me swing a little.

"Will it work?" He cocked his head.

"What else does she have to believe? It's not like anything else would make sense." I snorted.

"Fair point." He nodded his head. He looked up at the clear sky. "It's a nice day today."

"It is. Spring is around the corner. I can feel it." I sighed happily.

"I am glad. It has been cold for far too long now." He said purposefully adjusting his scarf.

"I like the cold. I like the snow." I hummed. I felt my stomach growl, reminding me of lunch. "I also like food in my belly." I laughed.

"Then lets go get you fed." He offered me his hand.

I took it and let him pull me up. I led the way to the restraunt that I had picked out. We stopped by the car first to drop off the bag though. I didn't want to carry it around with me.

The place I picked out was small, but very nice with good food. It's color scheme was dark red, black, and gold. Despite the dark colors it was actually very bright inside. Their were paintings of castles and long dead nobles on the wall. Most in the same colors as the theme. It had a welcoming feeling to it.

We were greeted by a waiter and led to the table I reserved. He took our drink orders and left.

"This is a very nice place Fredka." He told me as he looked around the building.

"It has good food too. I know that because I've been here once before." I glanced up from the menu.

"Then what would you recommend?" He asked with a small smile.

"If I were you I would go with the beet stew or maybe the chicken and dumpling soup. Both come with a side of salad, fruit or veggie, your choice." I said after a moment of though. "That actually sounds pretty good. I just might go for that myself."

"What was the reason for you coming here before. It doesn't look like a place someone would normally go to just for a lunch." He asked me and set his menu down on the table.

"I came here once with one of my human friends. His name was Jeff, but because of how old he was I called him Grandpa Jeff. He got a kick out of it every time I called him that." I laughed with a bright smile. A hint of sadness peaked into as I said the next sentence."I brought him here nearly a week before he passed away."

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that." He said taking my hand in his.

"It's fine, I'm okay. He was really old, so I knew he was going to leave soon." I sighed. "Still hurts, but I'll live. Do you want to know the last thing he said before we left?"

"Da. What did he say?"

"He said not to come back here unless I have someone really special to bring here. And I waited nearly ten years to do just that." I grinned at him.

He smiled at me, then brought my hand up to kiss my knuckles. A small blush dusted my cheeks, making them a rosy color. I always get slightly flustered whenever he does something like this. I always find it so cute and sweet. Weird words to associate with Russia, but still, cute and sweet.

Lunch was very romantic. He kept giving me this loving look. Every time he did it I would blush again. I think he was doing it on purpose just to see me blush.

After lunch we whent home. It was still early in the afternoon, so I decided to put of the movie I wanted to watch for later. In the mean time I had something else I needed to do. From my pantry I pulled out three heart shaped red velvet cakes. Two were larger and ment for two peopel, the third was smaller since it was only ment for one.

I set them on my counter and pulled out the vanilla frosting I had made earlier. Pulling out my frosting tools I set about decorating the cakes. I lined the edges with fluffy, sweet frosting. Then on the insides I put a different pattern in each. The small one had a cris cross pattern. One big one had carefully mad swirls while the other held the words 'I love you' in them. I put the latter back in the pantry for later.

Pulling out two premade boxes, I put the two other cakes in them. I wrapped them up with a cute little bow and set them on the table. While putting on my shoes and jacket I called up the stairs. "I am going out for a couple of hours. I need to drop off some things."

"Stay safe moya lyubov." He yelled back.

"I will dear!" I reassured him as I grabbed the cakes.

I walked out to my car and set the cakes in the front passenger seat. I weighted them down with a blanket I keep in my car so they wouldn't slide around. I got in the drivers side and started up the car. About a minute later I was pulling out of the driveway, ready to head to Charlotte's dinner. Every year I made her and her family a couple of cakes. One for her and Charles and the smaller one for Charlie. It was my way of spreading around love.

The drive was pretty calm one. No tried to do anything stupid in the roads today. That I was grateful for. I know how people can get the second the weather starts changing. I pulled into the parking lot and took my normal spot by the small bushes at the back of the parking lot. I liked this spite since my car was covered by the bushes.

I get out of my car, remembering the boxes, and began to walk up to the dinner. For most holidays it was closed, but she keeps her dinner open during the early afternoon for high school sweethearts to have a place for their date. Even so I was still making it just at the tail end of the shift.

"Good afternoon Charlotte!" I called out to the older woman.

"Well good afternoon to you too baby. Come give me a hug." She laughed out with open arms. I set the cakes down on a table and let the kind woman wrap me up in one of her famous bear hugs.

"I missed you Charlotte. How have you been?" I asked her as she let me go.

"I've been just fine, don't you worry. I was beginning to wonder when you would show up today." She told me as she continued to clean up.

"Sorry. Ivan and I had a little date today. I couldn't get you cakes until just now." I apologized and began to help her clean up.

"Oh don't you worry dear. I'm happy that you found someone to spend this special day with." She smiled sweetly at me. "Thanks for your help sugar. Hand me those plates and bring those cakes to the back for me, will you?"

"Sure thing." I chirped. We walk into the back and I see both Charles and Charlie. "Hey Charles. Hi Charlie. How have you two been?"

"I'm doing just fine. Can't wait to go home for the day." Charles told be me with a smile.

"I've been great my brother from another mother. I have a hot date tonight." Charlie said as she took the last of the dishes from her mom.

"Well, if I knew you were seeing someone I would have made you a bigger cake." I laughed.

"Don't worry about it. I never planned on sharing." She waved me off.

"Such a mean girl." I teased.

"Hana! That I am." She laughed. "So what has been going on with you?"

"Well, Ivan has moved in with me recently. And, um, well..." I started but trailed off.

"What is it dear? You can tell us, you know we won't bite." Charlotte reassured me.

"Okay, well, believe me or not but I'm pregnant. With twins." Man that felt weird to say. A good weird, but still weird.

Everyone looked at me in shock for a solid minute. The room was so quiet we could hear outside traffic. I was beginning to get nervous from the lack of a reaction. The first one to speak up was Charlie.

"So, are like a trans or something?" She asked me confused.

"Uh, yea." I nodded.

"Well, what ever you are I hope you are happy." Charlotte said pulling me into a hug. "And congratulations baby. I know you are going to make a couple of beautiful babies."

"Thanks guys." I laughed, relief clear in my voice.

I stayed and chatted with them for a while. We talked about the babies mostly. They wanted to know if I knew the genders or not. When they would be due. If I had stuff for them yet. Charlotte gave me advice for a new mother which I appreciated greatly. All too soon it was time for me to go. I bid them far well and Charlotte walked me to the car.

"Now you call me when you have those babies. And do feel free to bring them up here. I would love any chance to see them, you hear?" She told me as I got in the car.

"Loud and clear Charlotte." I giggles.

"Alright. You stay safe now. I'll see you later." She gave a final hug and walked away.

I smiled and started up the car. I have no idea why I was so nervous telling them. I should have known that they would have accepted it. Charlotte especially. Lord knows how much she loves babies.

I pulled into the driveway way. I was home a little sooner then I thought I would be. Oh well. More time to spend with Ivan. I get out of my car walk up to the front door. Apon opening it I see I trail of flower petals leading to the dining room.

I follow it to see the room was changed to that of a romantic dinner. Just like on our first date. I felt my heart swell with joy and fondness. He always knew what exactly to do to really make a day special. It is one of the resons why I love him. I smiled softly, walking further into the room. I looked around for the man in question, but didn't see him. Shruging my shoulders I sat down. I was sure he would be along any minute. Sure enough, a minute later he walked in carring what I assumed was the main course. Just from smell alone I knew it was Pork Tenderloin. My mouth started to water the second I picked up the scent.

"Hey big guy. Is that for us?" I asked batting my eyes.

"Of course it is. What, did you think I made all this for just me?" He teased as he set the dish down. He bent over and gave me a sweet kiss. I kissed back with a small hum. "So, moya darogay Fredka, are you ready for our diner date?"

"Da." I giggled as he took my plate. "We better get as many of these in now. Heaven knows how many of these we are going to get when the twins arive."

"I am sure that we can find many willing babysitters." He said to me.

"Yea, but how offten? We all have countries to run." I reminded him with a small smile.

"I suppose you are right. I guess I will just have to make the most of my time with you here and now." He smirked devilishly.

I hummed in agreement and took a bite out the food. I moaned lowly at the amazing, tangy tast. It was perfectly made. It tasted like a little piece of heaven in my mouth. "Vanya! How in the worlddo you know how to cook like a God?" I asked before taking in another mouth full.

"I have learned many things in my life. Cooking was one of them. Though this particular recipe is rather new." He said quite proudly. Which he should be. This food tasted like it was fit for a God.

"Man, you need to teach me how to cook this amazenly." I told him with a firm nod. "And our kids. You are going to be the one to teach them how to cook."

"I belive that can be arranged. I look forward to spending any time with them that I can." He said, a some what far off look in his eyes. A smile tugged at the corner of his lips. It was like he was already imagining himself teaching our little ones how to navigate life. From the basics of cooking to the cunningness of battle. It was a look that put a big smile on my face. "I can not wait to mee the beautiful babies you will bring into this world."

"Well big guy, I'm nearing 15 weeks, so only another 21 to go." I reminded him.

"This is going to be a long 21 weeks." He sighed.

"Eh, we'll make it. But I bet you in 22 weeks we are going to be longing for these days." I smirked and raised a brow.

"Hehehe. I love you Fredka." He laughed loudly.

"I know!" I grinned cheeckily. I softened into a more genuin smile. With all the love and care I felt in my heart I told him, "I love you too, Vanya."

We spent the rest of the night enjoying each others presents. With every second we spent together we fell more and more in love. With their beauty, their grace, their power, and minds. The most beautiful aspects of one another. The very things we used against each other for so many years. But I guess they were part of the reason why we fought so much. So we could see the very things we loved about the other.

Now, as I feel him holding me close as we fall into bed together, I have two more reasons to love him. Two more reasons to continue our dance. Two  more reasons to fight. Two more reasons to reach for the stars with him. Well, actually, with them.

Hello hello. Nope, I am not dead. I am so sorry it took me so long to post anything. Up untill now I have soley been writing on my phone. Not only does that take forever, but it is also exhousting. It drains me to the point that I don't even want to write. But I know have a laptop, so I should be more inclined to write since it won't take so much effort.

Also, I am starting a new thing in this series. If any of you have read my other book, High School Never Ends, Then you know I do this thing called a snipit. A 'chapter' that is less then 3000 words. 3000 is my chapter minimum, but with a snipit, or as they will be called her a life bit, they are generaly only about 1500 words. Not enough to be it's own chapter, but still helps to give the story depth and allows me to ost more offten about the little things in their lives.
