Ultrasound With A Ultrabrother.

I finished setting up the guest room I picked for may brother. It was the same one as last time he was over, but I had to change out the sheets and blankets. It also needed a good dusting. It was late morning and he was due to show up any time now.

He was driving all the way down from Canada to give me my first real check up. He was staying the night here because we have a meeting we have to go to tomarrow. So instead of driving home or renting a hotel room he will be staying with me for the next week or so. Not that I cared too much, I love my bro.

After getting done with his room I double checked to make sure the room we were going to use as the med bay was in order. The bed was stripped of its sheets and had a plastic cover on. The closet was completely emptied along with the dresser, night stand, and desk. I made sure every light worked, the place was perfectly dusted, and the air purifier was working. Once I was sure the room was as close to a doctors office as possible I left.

I walked to the top of the stairs and shouted down. "Ivan! I wanna come down stairs!" He appeared from around the corner. "Whoa, were you waiting for me?"

"Da. I knew you would have been getting done soon, so I stayed close by." He told me as he helped me down.

"Thanks, you're a sweety." I gave him a kiss on the cheek. "So, what are you thinking for lunch? I want something sweet. Like fruit. Do we have any fruit?"

"Da. Their is some on the kitchen counter and some in the fridge." He said as I zoomed into the kitchen.

I'm not sure where he whent off to, but I was focusing on my fruit salad. I cut up apples, peaches, strawberries, and threw in some grapes and mulberries. I mixed in some cool whip for flavor. I finally put in a good dose of hot sauce. To my bowl, not the big bowl that had most of the fruit salad. Ivan hates it when I mix anything 'weird' in with the main pot of food. Not that I blamed him, I would get annoyed too eventually.

I prepared my bowl and had set it on the table when I heard a door open. My head perked up in curiosity. I wasn't sure if it was the front door or if Ivan closed a different door in the house. I listened for additional sounds to see if I can figure out what door closed. Oh so quietly I heard the shuffling of boots and a bag being set down. Mystery solved.

"Brother!" I shouted from my seat.

I bolted out of my seat and ran down the hall to my brother. He looked up in surprise when he saw me come running down the hall. He didn't even have a chance to move before I all but crashed into him. He let out a loud pot when our bodies collided. It wasn't hard since I had to be careful, but it got my excitement across non the less.

"Mattie bro! It's so good to see you!" I said loudly with a big grin across my face.

"It's good to see you too Alfie." He said with a small laugh as he patted my back. "Are you ready to see your baby?"

My excitement picked up ten fold. "Oh my God! Yes!" I shouted, nearly squealing. "Come on, let's go! I have a room all picked out for you and everything!"

"Okay, okay." He laughed. "Let me picked up my stuff first. We can't see the baby without an ultrasound. And I'm sure Ivan wants to see too. How about you tell me which room I need to set up in and you go find the baby daddy? Okay?"

"Okay! Strait up the stairs, the one to the left of across from the stairs." I said pointing.

"Got it." He nodded with a small smile. "Now go find your love bug. I'll be waiting for you." He set off up the stairs.

I stayed put for a moment thinking about where he would habe gone. He followed me downstairs, and I didn't hear him go back up, so he has to be on the ground level. There are only two rooms he would have gone to on the ground. The art room or the library. I checked the art room first since it was closest. I looked inside, but he wasn't here. Their wasn't even any evidence that he was here at all today. Everything was put away in its proper place, nice and neat.

That only left the library. I darted across the house, past the dinning room, to the big double doors that separated this wing of the house from the rest. I had the library built about twenty years ago as the lates addition to the house. My old library was in what is now the game room. I had collected too many books to keep in the room, so I started the construction of the multi floor library. I then moved a bunch of my consoles and games into the old library room.

I pushed open the doors to reveal a large room. The base floor had a large area where mutipul couches, love seats, lamps, tables, and chairs sat on top a rather large rug. Large windows lined both sides of the room. Their are built-in seats along the some of the windows. Against the back wall and door wall are the ground floor book shelves. These held mostly fiction, science fiction, fantasy, and other kinds of made up stories. I kept these on the bottom half for easy access for when I want a story to read. In the middle is a locked door that lead to underneath the top half of the library.

The top half had a large stair case leading up to it. The top halve has rows of tall book shelves packed with all sorts of no fiction books. Science, history, autobiographys, space, nature, you name it. I have it all up there. One book case is completely sealed off from the rest of the library with a glass pane on it. Every thing behind that piece of glass is very old, and very fragile. There is one large table with a desk lamp on it and a nice comfy chair up there, but that's about it for furniture.

The colors of the room was a light brow primary with a dark brown secondary. It was cozy in here and usually kept at a warmer temperature then the rest of my house. It was also dryer in here as well. I don't need my books molding because of a musky environment.

I take a quick glance around and spot the large snowy nation sitting on one of the love seats. I smiled and bounced up to him like an excited puppy. I plopped down on his lap, surprising him since he hadn't seen me coming. He looked at from around his book.

"Privot Fredka. Do you need something?" He asked me with a raised brow.

"Da." I giggled as I tried to mimick his accent. "My brother is here and setting up for the ultrasound as we speak. So I kinda need you to come with me."

His eyes widened and he quickly sat his book down after marking the page. I got off his lap, grasped his hand, and led him down the halls while chattering excitedly. I tried taking the stairs two at a time, but Ivan wouldn't let me. Mattie was finishing setting the tools up just as we entered.

"Hey you two. Are ready to see your baby?" He asked up with a big smile.

"Heck yea!" I cheered and sat on the bed.

"Da. We are very excited." Ivan agreed from where he stood on the other side of the full size bed.

"Great." Mattie said. "Okay Alfie. Unbutton your pants and lift up your shirt. Then lay back."

I did as instructed. I adjusted the pillow a little so I could still see the grainy screen. Ivan reached for my hand and held it in his. I sent him a smile before focusing on the screen.

"Okay. I'm going to put this gel on your stomach. It is cold." He warned only a second before squeezing a bottle of the gel on my stomach. I let out a gap at how cold it was. "Warned you."

"Barely!" I snapped half-heartedly.

"Okay. Lets see what we got." He muttered under his breath as he moved the prob around.

He moved it around a little bit before stopping at around certain spot. He twisted and turned the probe a little, staring intently at the screen. He moved it slightly to the left. A big smile broke across his face as a couple of weird shapes came into view on the screen.

"Well, would you look at that." He said softly, even for him. This perked my curiosity and made me study at the screen harder.

"What?" I asked trying to make heads or tails of the image.

"See here and here." He pointed to two roundish images. It was super hard to see. I was barely able to make them out due to the grainy image. I nodded my head when I was sure I was looking at the right thing. "That both of them."

"That's my baby?" I asked with hope in my voice, getting even more excited. I was practically vibrating where I layed. Then it dawned on me. "Wait, did you say both?"

"Yep. Those circles there are their heads." He told me cheerfully, looking at me with a proud smile. "Alfie, little brother, congratulations. You're having twins!"

A huge grin stretched across my face when he said that. I looked back at the screen, staring at the two round blobs. I turned around to Ivan to see he had a look of shock, awe, and slight horror on his face. I laughed and turned back around. Tears came to my eyes as I studied the screen, trying to burn the image into my mind forever.

"Oh my God Mattie. I'm going to have twins!" I sobed happily, trying to keep the tears out of my eyes so I can see them on the screen.

"Yes you are. And from what I can tell, they look perfectly happy." He hummed in amusement.

I looked at Ivan, who still looked shell shocked. "What do you think Vanya?"

He looked down at me and blinked. I didn't even have enough time to prepare myself when he scooped me up and held me close. He twerled me around the room, whispering soft praises into my ear. I laughed happily in his arms, holding on to him tightly. Not that I though he would drop me, but just as a precaution.

"This is such wonderful news Fredka." He told me as he gently layed me back down on the bed. Mattie snorted and whent back to looking at the twins. "We are going to have a big family."

"Their is only going to be four of us." I reminded him. "If anything we'll have a medium sized family. So Mattie, what's the sentence?"

"You are about 14 weeks along." He said whiping the gel off my stomach and probe. "That leaves you with about another 22 weeks before birth."

"Cool. Wait, only 22?" I asked doing the math. A normal pregnancy lasts from 38 to 40 weeks, but the numbers are only adding up to 36.

"Yes, 22." He said nodding his head. "Women who are expecting multiple babies in one pregnancy give birth sooner then those who are only having one. Twins usually only go for 36 weeks, while triplets are between 32 and 34 weeks. Basically the more babies you have, the sooner you'll give birth. I know, sounds great not having to be pregnant longer.

"Their is a down side to it, however. The sooner you give birth, the more complications their will be, particularly with the babies." He told us. I looked at him worried. "Don't worry too much, you're only having twins, not quadruplets, thankfully. So their will be only a few things we'll have to watch out for for the two weeks after they are born. I'll stick around during that time so I can be ready to help in case anything occurs."

"Okay." I nodded my head. "What are some the complications?"

"Well, their is premature birth, anything less then a full 36 weeks. Low birth weight, under 5 and a half pounds. Mental issues, credible palsy, hearing loss, and vision loss. We ended up having vision loss when Native America had us." Mattie said pointing between us. "I know this sounds scary, but you are young and healthy. As long as you stay safe, stick to any diets or vitamins I give you, and keep your stress to a minimum all three of you should be just fine."

I felt a wave of relief go threw me when he said that. I was starting to get really worried about all the things he said that could go wrong. "Okay big bro. If you say so. I'll do my best to stick to what you tell me to do."

"Good. Other then that you are all set. So button your pants back up." He said teasenly. "And these are for you." He handed me a couple a pictures I didn't know he took.

I looked at the grainy, black and white pictures in awe. Ivan leaned over my shoulder to get a better look at them too. It was fascinating to see our little ones before they made their appearance to the world.

"Hehe. They kinda look like little aliens." I giggled making Mattie burst out laughing.

"Fredka! Do not talk about our angles like that." Ivan scolded.

"Yea, yea." I waved him off as I sat the pictures down on the end table. "Hey Mattie. Do you know if they are boys or girls yet?"

"No, they are too young. I might be able to tell at 18 weeks if they are angled right." He told us as he finished putting the equipment away.

"Okay. Oh Ivan! I can't wait to tell your sisters tomarrow!" I squealed happily.

"Da, they will be very happy." He agreed as he pulled me closer to him.

I hummed as I rested my head on his broad chest. I heard Mattie leave the room, probably to give is a little privacy for this special moment. I looked up to his deep amthest eyes that looked back down at me with all the love in the world. I reached up and pressed a kiss to his lips. He held me close to him, close enough to feel his heart beat through his chest. After a few long moment a we pulled apart.

"I love you." I said with a fond smile.

"I love you too moy dorogaya." He said back with a small smile of his own.

"So, twins huh?" I said with a small laugh.

"Da. Twins." He chuckled back nervously.

"I mean, I should have seen it coming. My grandma North America was a twin along with South America." I told him. He looked at me surprised. "And Native America had three sets of twins of her own. Mattie and I, the Mexico's, and Beothuk and Karanakawa.

"Beothuk lived in what is now known as Newfoundland, and and her twin sister, Karanakawa, who was named Auil, lived in Texas. She actually helped me during the Texas War of Independence. They were one of the few of my Native American siblings that I actually got along with. Beothuk, Kuis was her name, was actually good friends with Vivica.

"They would occasionly baby sit my siblings and I if we were in the area. We would hunt, gather, and star gaze together." I said with a happy smile. It quickly turned bitter sweet though. "That was such a long time ago though. I miss them so much."

"What was your country like before us?" Ivan asked me.

"Quiet and peaceful. Even in the tribes it was pretty calm. The forests would go on for ever and ever. The stars shone as brightly as the sun at night. I could hear the call of all the animals. This place looked different too." I sighed heavily. "Their are lakes were their was once land. Land were their were once lakes. Open fields where their were once forests and orchereds were their were once open fields. It's quiet now too, but in a very different way. It's like the animals are scared to speak anymore. The men from the other side of the world came in and turned my world upside down.

"Whether it was a bad or good thing, I can't tell yet. I can't change the past, but I can change the future. I'll make it one good enough for our children to live in." I finished with a firm nod. I looked at him with all the determination I had. "Will you help me?"

"Of course, my dear Fredka." He said pressing a quick kiss to my lips. My stomach let out a loud growl, reminding me I haven't eaten yet. "But perhaps we should eat first."

"Yea. That sounds good." I laughed. "So you think my brother found my bowl of fruit?"

"I don't think so. I haven't heard him throw up from just looking at all the things weird and gross you throw into a perfectly good bowl of fruit." He said teasenly.

"Hey! It's your kids who are the ones that like this stuff! So you can stuff it." I teased back.

"Already did. That's how we got into this situation." He grinned cheekily.

"Ivan!" I shouted with a blush.

*Time skip to latter that night*

We were getting ready for bed. I had on a lose pair of pajama pants and a lose t-shirt. It is big enough that it is was slipping off my shoulders and whent down to about the middle of my thigh. I actually think it is Ivans. Oh well, it's mind now.

Ivan was wearing only a pair of pajama pants. He looked at me with a raised brow when he saw the shirt, but said nothing. I set my glasses down on the night stand next to my photo album. I had gotten it out earlier to put the pictures in. I had spent a good twenty minutes decorating them with different kinds of stickers.

We both got into bed after he turned off the bedroom light. I imeadiently snuggled up to him the second he layed down. I was tired, but didn't want to sleep yet. I wanted to keep talking for a while longer. Much to my boyfriends annoyenc.

"So, how do you think your sisters are going to react? Will they be shocked? Or will they be like 'yea, we knew this was going to happen'?" I asked him.

"Katyusha will probably start crying and Natalia will more then likely stare at you." He said tiredly.

"Okay." I whispered. "What about all the others?"

"I do not know. Why? Do you want to tell them?" He asked me while opwning one eye.

"No. I want to wait untill they've pretty much figured it out on their own. So when I'm waddling into a meeting like a penguin." I giggled.

"Then do not worry about it for now." He yawned.

"Okay." I said again. "Have you thought about baby names yet? I have. I want Whice and Alice if they're girls."

"Nikolie and Victor if they are boys." He added in.

"What about middle names. I was thinking of doing something classic. Something really pretty, you know? I'm not sure yet, but maybe I could-"

"Alfred, love. It is time for sleep." He said pulling me closer. The movement pressed my face into his chest, so I had to move a little to get my face out and get comfortable. It took a minute, but I settled again.

"Okay." I said a third, and final, time. "Good night." Wrapped in his warm and protective arms I was quick to fall asleep.

Sorry this took so long too get out. I have to do a lot of research for this book. I don't like doing a crapy job at my books, so I try to make them as accurate as possible.

Beothuk and Karanakawa were both real tribes that are now gone. They are my own OC's, but I more then likely won't use them again. Feel free to use them for your own stories.

Beothuk; Kuis (Moon): stands at 5' 6". She had black hair and dark eyes. She was an excellent fisherman for her tribe. She was more distant then her twin and kept to herself. She was one of the few tribes that did not agree with Native America killing off their youngest siblings.

Karanakawa; Auil (Sun): She stood at 5' 6", had black hair and dark brown eyes. She was one of the more playful of the the Native American siblings. She was an amazing hunter and tracker. She loved to dance and was very social, but harder as well. She was one of the few tribes that disagreed with Native America killing off their youngest siblings.
