Life Bit
Bye Bye Kittens.
I layed on my bed, not wanting to get up. In one hour all the remaning kittens will be gone. The day has arrived for them to find new homes with other nations and leave mine forever. They are going to leave today, and it was breaking my heart. I have grown really attached to them since their births last Thanksgiving. We've played together, cuddled, snuggled, and whent for walks. I know when they leave I will be giving up a small part of my heart to each of them.
"Come on Fredka. You need to get up." Ivan said as he gentlly tried to pull me from the bed. By doing so he had disloged the blankets covering me from the waist down. He looked at my bare legs in surprise. "You still are not fully dressed?"
"My pants don't fit me anymore!" I whined patheticly. In the last week I have gone from a barely there curve to much more noticable one. Especially if you look from the side. I was now over 15 weeks and nearing my 16. None of my pants fit me anymore, I couldn't even try to wreasle them on today.
"Do you want a pair of my pants?" He asked as I finally sat up, a bit reluctently. A sympathetic smile was on his face.
"Can't. Yours are way too long for me. I'll trip constently." I sighed and got off the bed. I walked over to the dresser to dig around again, hoping I might have missed something I could wear the last time I whent through it. For possiblely the sixth time today I came up empty handed. I groaned in frustration and slambed my hand against the dresser. Not enough to break the dresser, but it did relieve a little bit of tenstion from me.
"Alfred, here, wear this." I turned around to see him handing me a pair of thin dark grey sweat pants. I took them and held them against my legs. While they were a little on the long side, they weren't too bad. I could roll the cuffs up a little.
"Thank you Vanya. You're the best." I said pulling him into a kiss. He hummed and kissed back. I broke the kiss to put on the pants. They were a little long, like I though they would be, but at least they were a little loose. I have some time with them before they won't work anymore. "Ugh. I need to go cloth shoping, don't I?"
"I'm afraid so dorogaya. Unless you want to go the rest of your pregnancy pantless, which I have no objection against." He smirked and winked.
"IVAN!" I shouted with a fierce blush. I stomped passed him and out to the hall. I could hear his chuckling from behind me. With a slightly annoyed huff I stomped down the stairs and into the kitchen. Which was hard and lost all with my starting to form waddle. "Please tell me you have the kittens rounded up!" I shouted into the living room.
"Da! I put them in the big storage bin. They want out though." He told me as I walked back in with an apple in my hand.
"Yea, I bet they do." I sighed sadly. He placed a comferting hand on my shoulder. I gave him a small smile to show I was going to be okay.
I looked over at the clock. Only another half an hour before they'll show up. I picked up a brush and a kitten and started to absent mindedly groom the. I wasn't even sure which one I had either. Befor I even knew it the door bell rang, sigaling the arrival of the first nation. I got up and walked to the front door. When I opened it I saw all of them there. I was slightly surprised, since I expected them to come one at a time pretty much.
"Hey guys, come on in." I invited the six nations inside. They were Germany, Italy, Romano, Hungary, and Austria. "So, did you all take the same plane?"
"Ja, we did. Italy wanted all of us to make the trip together." Germany sighed. "Not that it was a horrible idea."
"Speak for yourself you damn potato eater." Romano snapped.
"Well, the kittens are in here. The four I'm giving away are in this tub. Iv-Russia put them in here so we wouldn't have to track them down." I waved them over. I noticed that Ivan wasn't in the room. I guessed he left when the door bell rang.
"Ve! They are so cute!" Italy squelled as he picked one up. I was able to tell by his dark brown fur that it was Gravy he picked up.
"That one is Gravy. He's pretty layed back and gets along the best with other animals. Even dogs." I giggled as I remembered all the times I would have to drive down to the neighbors house to pick him. He just wanted to play with their dogs.
"Ve. He seams perfect for us then. The dogs are going to love playing with them." Italy cheered as he snuggled the purring kitten closer. "Don't you think so Germany?"
"Ja, Blitz is especially going to like him." He said, a small smile on his face as he rubbed the kittens head. I watched the exchange with a happy smile.
I turned my head when I saw a hand reach into the box. It was Romano picking out a kitten. I watched him as he let each sniff his hand before grabbing onbe. It was Biscuit.
"That one is Biscuit. She's super playful and loves people food. Like, you have to keep an eye out for her or she'll steal your sandwich." I laughed with fondness at that memory. Ivan had just made his sandwich, turned around for a second, and it was gone. She was out of the kitvhen before he even knew it was her. "She especially loves red suace and anything tomato baised. Just make sure she doesn't eat sauce with too much garlic, salt, and onion. Or unripened tomatos. Those can really hurt her and make her sick."
"Only the ripened fruit, got it!" Spain said as he scratched the little girl under her chin. She let him for a moment before swiping her paw at him, claws out. "Whoa!"
"Yea, she has sass." I giggled. "She doesn't like a lot of people either, wich is why I'm surprised she's letting you hold her. " I said gestering to Romano.
"We'll take her." Romano said with a smirk.
"Yay. My little Lovi found him a little pet!" Spain said happily while attempting to hug the snippy nation.
"Don't touch me you tomato eating bastered." He snapped and Biscuit hissed. He looked down at her. "Good girl."
I turned to Hungary and Austria next. "Well, that just leaves the twins, Butterball and Tom."
"Aww. They are so adroable." Hungary cooed as she picked them up.
"You guys will love them. They are super calm, they sleep all the time, they love classical music, and they are always down for an adventure." I told them. All the memories of me taking the cats for walks came back. When ever I would say those magic words those two would be by the front door first.
"They are going to be so much fun then. What do you think Austria?" She said turning to her housemate.
"Well, I supose it would be nice to have something around when you ae out. They are kind of cute." He said with a smile.
"This is just wonderfull." She smiled.
I gave them all a smile and helped load the kittens into carriers. I gave each a last cuddle and kiss before saying goodbye to them. Hero said her goodbyes too, giving each a lick on their forheads. I expected them to leave after that, but Romano hung back. I gave him a questioning look. He shufled his feet nervously, before turning to me.
"Is something wrong?" I asked him with a tilt of my head.
"No. Everything is fine. I was just wondering how you were doing, with your condition and all." He said turning away with a blush.
"Oh! Yea, I'm doing fine. I meen, I have the ocasional emotional outburst and my pants don't fit me anymore, but other then that I'm doing just fine." I told him with a big smile.
"What is it like?" He asked.
"It's actually kind a cool. I'm growing two more people for goodness sake. Mini me's! Sure, it has it's down sides. I'm starting to pee like crazy, but it has some killer ups too." I told him excitedly.
"Like what?"
"Well, not sure how to explain it, but I feel them. Not movements yet, it's still too soon for that. I feel their presents, to be more acurate. I can feel their lives in me. Their love, theri souls. I'm never alone because I always have them right besides me. It's like having a little piece of heaven." I said trying me best to describe the feeling to him. "It's like everything is right in the world. You'd have to feel it yourself to understand."
"Hmm." He hummed thoughtfully. "Thank you for sharing that."
"You're welcome." I smiled. We bid each other goodbye and parted ways. I walked into the living room and sat down on the couch.
"Is that how it really feels like?" I heard Ivan say behind me. I jumped about a foot in the air before turning to glare at him.
"STOP SCARING ME YOU JERK!" I shouted at him. He looked at me in slight shock, surprised at my outburst. However, my temper cooled just as quickly as it flaired up. "And yes, it is. It's a wonderful feeling, and I love it."
"I'm glade. I would hate for this experience to have been a nightmare for you." He said as he slowly came around the couch, like he was walking up to an angered dangerous animal. Which, to some degree, he was. I let him pull me into a hug and felt the last of my anger wash away. "I'm sorry I scared you moya lyubov."
"I love you too, bu you're still a jerk." I pouted.
"Hehe. I know." He giggled.
