Chapter 1
Miranda's P.O.V.
My eyes widened in shock as Cyrus whispered in my ear "It was just for comfort. Don't get any ideas."
"But thats my job." I smirked, covering my forming blush.
"Whatever. Just, be careful okay?" he replied. I turned and walked away, allowing the blush to form on my face, as I knew that nobody could see it there.
And so, I was off to mount mount my horse, which was a chocolate brown.
Turns out, Wilder left a Kitsune named Klutz in charge while he was gone. And his personality fits his name.
-NOW IT IS- Mark's P.O.V.
Man, I just wish that Miranda would take it easy sometimes. One minute, we're all alone in a castle, the next minute, we're in the middle of a war, with Miranda leading us.
Miranda doesn't like taking the lead, she actually HATE tasks with tons of pressure. She should've cracked under this pressure, but she has surprised me with the sheer perseverance that she has shown.
And for that, I couldn't have asked for a better twin.
And so, as I walked along the dirt roads, watching the little Kitsune children play with each other. I smiled, recalling how we used to be that way. And man, was it fun...
That was...
Until we were taken away. But before I could've noticed, I heard Miranda yell "HURRY UP! WE NEED TO FIND PETER ASAP!!!"
Talk about bossy. But, I'll give her the pleasure of making us catch up with her.
I ran through the field, letting my hands rustle through the tall cat-tails. And for a while, I let my breathing change into deep, relaxing breaths.
Several days ago, I sent Gwen and Cyrus to check up on Miranda, who I was concerned for. Since she has never anticipated the fact that she'd eventually lead an armada of fighters with many different stories, I gained a large sense of worry for her.
So, I sent two of the closest people to her. I could've gone, but she hasn't even looked me in the eye since she went through all of the weird pain-in-the-head for the second.
And they came back to me, faces beaming, well, Gwen for sure. Cyrus was as normal as can be. Which was weird to me at least. But, I didn't want to pull at those strings.
And to be honest, I like the guy around. I don't know how to put it, but when he's around, I can tell that Miranda is at ease, which is one of the reasons I picked him. Another reason being that he and my sister go way, way back, so he is the second most trusted person to her (second to me). Third, I also feel at ease when he's around. It's like he absorbs a lot of pressure, only to give it back when he leaves, though not as much as it was before he arrived.
And lastly, I think she likes him. Honestly, she didn't fool me with the whole not-getting-flustered deal.
Yeah Miranda, I'm observant.
Something happened between them that night that she's too embarrassed to speak about. And thats okay, but it isn't after a while. After all, I have to provide her with the care she needs.
But if she doesn't tell me about it, then I can never help her.
But I just have to let her tell me by her own wishes. I respect her boundaries.
I finally reached my horse, which is a jet-black stallion with bits of white near the hooves of it's legs.
Smirk appearing on my face, because of a plan I had thought of, rushed towards the front to where Miranda was.
"Whats up?" she asked, almost as if she knew what I was going to ask.
"I heard that Gwen and Cyrus visited several nights ago," I replied, watching as Miranda's face blushed a bright red across her face as I mentioned Cyrus' name, "Why did they go to your room then?" I raised an eyebrow, to make it seem more interesting.
I waited for a while as Miranda sighed to give me her answer.

Finally! The first chapter of the second book is done! I want to thank you all so much. I received advice from Be_My_Queen to take it slow and to put in more description of everything. And more emotion. And so, the journey continues.
Finally, I dedicate this book to my mom, who convinced me to stay true to myself. My dad, for keeping us together. Be_My_Queen, for all of the good advice for my series. And finally, AveryTheKey, for your random comments about things on the story.
Don't worry if I haven't gotten to you yet... I still have more books yet to come!
